411's WWE NXT Report 1.4.12
Posted by Tony Acero on 01.04.2012

-yawn- Alright, we're back for another episode of the show that doesn't end where I try to stay invigorated through the juvenile story telling and subpar wrestling. At this rate, maybe recapping TNA wouldn't be so bad....wait, I take that back! Larry, I didn't mean it!

Have a seat, Tony...

We begin the show with Matt Striker in the middle of the ring, as per usual, it seems. Striker says 2012 will be exciting for NXT. Tonight, there will be a huge main event. Two of the current rookies will square off one on one...didn't they do that already? He reminds us of the 100th episode coming up and as such, he will be inviting past NXT alumni. His guest tonight, Michael McGillucutty. William Regal is back! Woo hoo!! Striker wants to shake the hand of McG but he brushes him off to say that he has arrived. He says that NXT sucks. He remembers being here. It gave him absolutely nothing. As a matter of fact, he went on to jump John Cena. He became a part of the most dominate faction in WWE history, The Nexus. He's a former WWE Tag Team Champion. He didn't accomplish this because of NXT, though, he did that because he did what he wants when he wants. Doesn't matter what show, no one is going to stop him from becoming a success. Ah, but the music hits and Alex Riley is here!

Alex says it's great to be back in Little Rock and shakes the hands of Striker. He wants to know what happened to McG. He had the opportunity for careers and he gets an opportunity to come back and take the chance to run down the show and the town it's in? You think joining a group of people and beating up on Cena makes you a superstar? take it from someone who knows, it doesn't. The only way to earn respect in this business is in this ring. Riley offers a match tonight. Cheap shot from McG as they roll around on the ring and Striker calls for a ref.

Match 1: Alex Riley vs. Michael McGillicutty
McG goes for a right, but Alex ducks under and gets a right or two of his own. McG goes for the corner but Alex ducks again, hits the ropes and hits a clothesline then sends McG to the outside! McG gets back in the ring hesitantly. McG kicks Riley down then hits a few rights and some stomps into the corner. McG with a right into the corner. Riley reverses and sends him to the corner. Riley sends him to the opposite then splashes! He looks for a DDT, faceplants him and pins for a two count. Riley sends mcG to the ropes, but McG comes back and sends Riley to the outside. Riley tries for a high kick but McG moves and boots him off the apron as we go to break.

We are back and Riley is just fighting out of a headlock only for McG to hit him harrd in the back of the head then pinning. 1...2..NO. McG with a couple of stomps in the corner then a few rights to the seated Riley. A mule kick and McG taunts the crowd. McG chokes Riley on the ropes then hits some forearms to the sides of Riley's face. McG to the outside then hits a hard right to Riley. McG rolls in quickly to cover and gets a 2. McG with a stomp then a kick to the chest. A knee to the back and a cravat from behind. Another cover by McG and it only gets a 2. Michael with a backbreaker and a pin for 1...2..No go. He pulls back on the chin of Riley then locks in a side headlock on the mat. He elevates himself to apply more pressure. Riley is finally able to fight out of it with a back elbow then an STO to the mat! Riley has the fire and ducks a clothesline then hits the Spinebuster. Riley with a kick and goes for a DDT, but here's McG with a Siato suplex and a pin for 1...2..NO! Regal puts us up on game, informing us that McG was taught the move due to his father working with Saito in AWA. McG goes up top only for Riley to run up and Suplex him down to the mat. Nearfall! Both men are up. Riley sets up for the A Bomb but McG gets out, kicks and goes for the swinging neckbreaker! Riley moves for that, A-Bomb and a pin for 1...2...3!!!
Winner: Alex Riley
Not a bad much, just an uninteresting one. I like that they kept the restholds to a minimum and showed some pizazz. Good showing from the future of the WWE.

Recap of last week when Maxine walked out on Derrick Bateman and makes out with Curtis. Then Bateman is in the back with Kaitlyn, saying he's over it! No moping, no dream journal, nothing! Kaitlyn calls him Derrick "Sweet Meat" Bateman....whoa. Maxine and Curtis come up and Maxine says she knows what Bateman was doing with Aksana...huh? Curtis says they're all friends here and Bateman says no they are not, kinda funny. Kaitlyn calls Maxine a hussie and tells Bateman just forget about them. Maxine says no one cares about her. Kaitlyn gives a gutteral yelp and Bateman says when she comes crawling back, he won't be there. Maxine then kisses Curtis in front of Bateman. This is all kinds of bad. Kaitlyn is left with Curtis and Curtis says, "sup..." How weird....

Match 2: Kaitlyn vs. Maxine
Lockup! Maxine pushes, Kaitlyn pushes back. They circle the ring and lockup again. Kaitlyn's baseball jersey and denim shorts are pretty hot. Maxine with a right in the corner but Kaitlyn with an arm bar then picks up Maxine with one arm and sends her to the corner! Nicely done. Kaitlyn with a whip but Maxine hits a knee only for Kaitlyn to pick her up and hit a body slam then a leg drop. Pin for 1...2..NO. Maxine with an uppercut then lifts Maxine up on her shoulder only for Maxine to lock in a scissors lock and dragon sleeper. Kaitlyn taps and that's over.
Winner: Maxine

Short and below average. Kaitlyn looked yummy.

We are backstage, and Yoshi Tatsu is chattin it up with Trent Baretta, playing WWE 12. In comes Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks. Yoshi is offended. New Year, new leaf, says Trent and offers a controller. Reks takes the controller, and he is down. He claims that his hands are stuck. Japanese Superglue, says Yoshi! hahaha. They glued Rek's hands to the controller.

Match 3: Trent Baretta vs. Curt Hawkins
Reks comes out with Curt and his handds are still stuck to an xbox controller. Curt with a kick then a right to the back of Trent's head. Curt sends Trent to the corner and stomps on him a couple of times then hits him with a right. Curt with a shoulder into the gut of Trent then sends him to the apron. Clothesline, but Trent slides under and hits some chops and an uppercut. Hits the ropes, but Hawkins with a pump powerslam! Curt mounts Trent and gets in a few rights then chokes him up on the rope. Happy Birthday, JR, by the way. Pin by Curt but it's a no go.Curt with a chin lock then another pin for two more. Curt stomps the hand of Trent then the chest. Curt steps on the chest of him then sends him to the corner. Curt with a suplex and a cover for two! Curt with a knee to the back then a front faced key lock. The crowd cheers for Trent but Curt pulls him down for a pin for 1...2..NO! Curt with a kick and a chin lock from behind. Trent tries to fight out, and he does! Some right hands to the face and an Enziguri is enough to send Curt to the mat. Trent struggles up, as does Curt. Trent flies to the corner and hits a back elbow into Curt's face. Trent with a dropkick! Pin! 1...2..NO!!! Trent goes for a springboard DDT but Curt tosses him, slips under the rung then pulls the legs out from Trent. Trent kicks Curt in the face to the outside then goes for the flip over the ropes! He hits it! Trent tries to get back in but Curt hits him from the inside. Trent looks for a side russian, it looks like but Trent flips out of it and hits a nice looking Dudley Dog from the corner! Pin for 1...2...3!!!
Winner: Trent Baretta

The match was alright for the time given. Trent adds an excitement to a match that not many can, and he did so here. Short, but that's alright.

The main event is announced as a match between the final two rookies of the show...so what happened to Titus? Did I miss something? A reply discusses the feud between Young and Titus which then informs me that Titus should be cleared to return next week. So.....nevermind, this show is so fucked up.

Darren Young asks for the mic and doesn't care if Titus comes back on a crutch. All he's going to do is cry and apologize and bla bla bla. As for Bateman, he is about to find out what Titus and Percy has found out, he is the guy that runs NXT. D. Young.

Match 4: Darren Young vs. Derrick Bateman
Young shoots for the legs but misses. Lock up into a go behind from Derrick and finally a whip into a shoulder block from Darren but there's Derrick with an axe handle. Derrick with a chop then a dropkick and a pin for two. They are both on the apron and Young with an awkward atomic drop. He sends Bateman into the ring then hits a back breaker. Young with a scissors from behind and he starts to hit some blows to the chest. Young with an uppercut then slams the head of Bateman into the corner and hits some hard uppercuts. Bateman sends Young to the corner then to the outside. Flying dropkick! Bateman sends Young into the ring and hits a nice swinging neckbreaker but here comes Maxine and Curtis....

Maxine says that this week, Maxine and Johnny got married in Vegas. Bateman finally pays attention and is about to leave the ring, but there's Young to hit his finisher and pins for the 1...2...3!!
Winner: Derrick Bateman

Short and unworthy of a main event spot.

I know I told you guys there would be some sort of an awards show, but I didn't have the time this week, so let's just do it during the 100th episode, yes? Haha. See ya then.

Weird Johnny Curtis is actually interesting. Him saying 'sup to Kaitlyn was hilarious.
