411's WWE NXT Report 2.9.12

Trent Barreta and Tyson Kidd get a rematch, Maxine takes on Kaitlyn once again, Derrick Bateman goes one-on-one with Heath Slater and more! Check out the full report for details!



Just when you thought it would end....Actually, if you thought that, then something is wrong with ya! It's apparent now that there will never be another NXT season aside from this. Want to know one thing that's about as repetative as this show yet immensely more entertaining? Dancing Regal!!!!



Striker is here in the middle of the ring and says that there are a few Superstars who claim there is some favoritism on NXT. To appease that, Striker claims that each rookie will have a match tonight. So, all three men will have a match tonight, including a main event pitting The Usos vs Hawkins and Reks. That's all he's got to say, as we get to our first match.

Match 1: Derrick Bateman vs. Heath Slater
Heath starts with a couple of hits but Bateman knocks him down with a dropkick then hits a few chops before sending Heath to the ropes and hits an exploding clothesline. Pin for 1...2..No! Bateman sends Heath in the corner and hits a right then sends him to another and goes for the knees, but Heath moves! Heath on the offense with a few rights then chokes Bateman on the ropes. He plays air guitar before locking in a cravat. Bateman elbows out of it then hits the ropes, allowing Slater to hit a leg lariat and a pin for 1...2..No. He immediately goes back to the rest hold. Bateman backs him into the corner then hits an arm drag. Clothesline! Shoulderblock! Hard clothesline into the corner then a whip, but it's reverses, no, reversed again! STO Drop then a swinging neckbreaker!! Pin for 1...2.....NO!! A little clappity clap and he goes for a suplex. Heath floats over and sends Bateman to the corner. Slater hits the ropes then hits - what I suppose is his finisher? It looks like a running Sleeper hold drop, aka Hi, I'm Generic.
Winner: Heath Slater
Blegh! Slater proves, yet again, that he doesn't belong anywhere on my screen.


We are back, and Titus is tableside with Regal and Mathews.

Match 2: Percy Watson vs. Darren Young
Lockup! Young gets back up in the ropes so the ref breaks the hold only for Young to get a side headlock in. Percy hits some rights to the kidney, then they do some rope work till Young tries to roll up Percy. Percy reverses, tries to pin and gets a 1 count. Percy with an uppercut. He sends Young to the corner then hits a sidewalk slam. Percy spreads the legs and stomps the mid section. He goes for a leg drop, and hits it! Young slides out, so Percy tries for a baseball slide, but Young pulls the apron up and Percy gets stuck between it and the ring. Young hits the back with a barrage of fists then drops the leg. He sends percy into the ring then hits a neckbreaker and a pin for 1...2..NO! Young with a scissor lock and a cravat combo submission. Young turns it into a front faced lock but Percy with a punch to the kidney and sends Young to the corner. He goes for another toss, but Young reverses, sends Percy to the corner, then runs for a kick only for Percy to move and Young runs crotch first into the corner. All of this is going on while Titus totally and continually mumbles over himself on the mic. In the ring, Percy hits a double underhook suplex then hits his nice lookin Heisman. Pin for 1...2..NO! Percy tries to pull Darren off the rope, but Young holds on. Percy backs up and gets Young into a Firemans Carry. He lifts him up! F-5 looking move from Percy! He gets the pin for 1...2...3!!!!
Winner: Percy Watson

Sometimes Percy Watson is exciting to watch, other times he's somewhat droll. Tonight, he did a good enough job and the match was good considering how boring Young can be in the ring. I'll give it to em, they packed a big punch in a little match.

Titus gets off the table and grabs the mic. he tells percy that when he attacks Percy, he won't see it coming...

In the back, Kaitlyn is bent over (giggity). Johnny Curtis is standing behind her and asks her if she's getting ready for her match. Kaitlyn tells him to put a shirt on, then asks why he is here. He says he knows a secret about Maxine and Bateman that no one knows. Kaitlyn says if he allows him to tell her, will he go put a shirt on? He says, that the secret is that Bateman likes Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn dismisses it...then considers it.

Match 3: Trent Baretta vs. Tyson Kidd
Tyson with a go behind into a side headlock to start! Trent sends him to the ropes, they mess around a bit, then Tyson hits a back elbow and pins for 2. Key lock from Tyson until Trent sends him to the ropes. Tyson holds on, kicks up and flips over, but there's Trent to kick him down! Trent hits the ropes, but Tyson ducks only for Trent to hit a right, sending Tyson to the mat. Trent gets atop the barricade and hits a corckscrew moonsault, but misses a majority of it. The ref hits a 7 count before Tyson sends Trent back in and goes up top himself. He flies off the top, but Trent hits a dropkick to the gut of the falling Tyson!! Pin for 1...2..NO!! Trent hits the ropes, but Tyson hits a mule kick. He goes for a back suplex, but Trent flips out of it and backs into the corner. Tyson runs, so Trent puts his legs up then stomps on the chest of Tyson...that was pretty cool. Trent goes for a monkey flip, but Tyson turns it into a roll up, then Trent turns THAT into a pin for 1...2..NO! Trent with a spinning back kick then a German! Pin for 1...2..NO!!! Tyson has blood on his cheek. He places Trent up top in the corner, back first then sets up for the Saito Suplex, but Baretta turns around and turns it into a body press! Pin for 1...2..NO!!! Tyson rolls towards Trent as the ref counts. Both up at 4 and Trent hits a surprise neckbreaker. Trent is going to the corner! He's up top! Tyson is stirring! Trent looks to fly! Dropkick!!! Pin for 1...2...NO!!!! Kidd kicks out, barely. Trent is looking for another neckbreaker, but Tyson hits another spinning heel kick but Trent holds on to the leg, twists it and rolls up Tyson. Tyson rolls that into a pin of his own for the 1...2...3!!!
Winner: Tyson Kidd

Good lord, that was beautiful. Seriously, watch this week's NXT solely for this match. It's a shame they can't give them any more time.

Tyson extends his hand after the match and shakes the hand of Trent.

Kaitlyn and Bateman are in the back. She calls him sweet meat...He is down due to the lost. Kaitlyn says he's always the winner, though. She's got cascading curls. He says thanks, and they share a consensual high five. Maxine runs through and is dissing him for the loss of the match. Kaitlyn calls her unsupportive so Maxine says to bizzounce and leave Bateman alone. In the background, Curtis is lurking. Maxine tells Derrick to stay away, Kaitlyn disses her hair thne Maxine goes to attack...only, Bateman stops her. They walk off and Curtis says something retarded.

Match 4: Kaitlyn vs. Maxine
Maxine shoots, drops Kaitlyn to the mat, then smashes her knee into Kaitlyn's face. Kaitlyn with a side walk slam into a pin for 1. Kaitlyn with a head scissors and an arm pull. (I should mention that while all of this is going on, Regal is on a FUCKING roll behind the headset. Too much hilarity to type here). Kaitlyn hits a body slam then pins for 2. She lifsts Maxine but Maxine hits a right to the gut then a double axe handle. Pin for 1...2..NO! She mounts Kaitlyn for a pin but Kaitlyn kicks out and pins for 1. Maxine is back on the attack with a chinlockKaitlyn us up, so it looks more like a Dragon Sleeper. Maxine drops Kaitlyn to the mat then grabs her heand and sends Kaitlyn face first to the middle turnbuckle. She goes up top, but Kaitlyn pushes her away. Kaitlyn with a right then a dropkick. She ducks a clothesline then hits a cross body for a pin 1...2..NO! Kaitlyn lifts Maxine up and Maxine slaps her hard. Maxine goes for a crucifix pin, but Kaitlyn holds her up for a while until Maxine finally rolls through and gets Kaitlyn pinned...sort of...almost....there ya go... 1...2...3!!!
Winner: Maxine

YAWN! Pretty substandard. This got even worse when the pin attempt came. Who fucks up a crucifix pin?

In the back, Tyson walks up to Trent and essentially tells him that somewhere along the way of them fighting each other over and over, he respects him and thinks that they'd be a pretty good tag team. Trent doesn't believe in him fully but Tyson says he's being dead serious.

Match 5: The Usos vs. Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks
We're starting with Jey and Curt. Drop Toe Hold from Curt to start. Nice. He locks the arm, but Jey sends him to the ropes and Curt hits a shoulder block. Some more rope work ends with Uso hitting a Northern Lights Suplex Pin for 1..2...NO! Tag to Jimmy. He goes on the attack but Curt tags in Tyler. LOck up and Tyler turns it to a wristlock from behind. Jimmy hits an elbow though and back into the corner. Jey tags in and we get a double elbow into a double elbow drop. Pin from Jey and he only gets a two. He brings Reks to the corner and Jimmy tags in again. Jimmy with a clothesline into the corner, a whip into the opposite then Tyler lifts his kneees as Jimmy goes to attack. Tyler quickly tags in Curt only for Curt to get arm dragged by Jimmy. Jimmy tags to Jey as Curt flies outside! Jimmy gets on all fours and Jey hops over him to the outside, flying over the ropes onto Curt! Jey tosses Curt back in the ring and Curt flies right back out, causing Jey to reach out to him and Tyler Kicks him HARD off the apron. We get a break.

Back from the break, and Reks is in control of Jey from behind. He turns the head towards Jimmy, taunting the Usos. Jey tries to get out so Reks flpajacks him face first into the turnbuckle then pins for 1...2..NO! Pin to Curt and Curt stomps the stomach of Jey. Curt with a kick to the chest of Jey then a snap suplex and a pin to Reks. Reks drops a fist to the gut then a knee to the face as Jey stretches for a pin. Tyler grabs the leg and tgs. Curt with the chinlock from behind. Jey tries fighting out of it with a right, but Curt attacks the back then runs into the corner. Uso with a uppercut, but Curt kicks him right in the head, locks the leg, then tags in Reks. Reks is in and drops a forearm to the back then a front headlock. Reks pounds the back some more then hits a body slam, grabs the arm and tags in Curt. Hawkins with a stomp to the chest as he taunts the other Uso. Cravat from behind. Uso uses the power of USO to turn into it and punch to the gut. Curt kicks though, and hits the ropes! But oh, Jey hits a spining back elbow!!! Both men down! They reach to their respective corners Tag! Tag! Here comes Jimmy! He hits Reks, hits Curt, Samoan Drop to Reks! Butt splash to Reks! Pin for 1...2...NO!! Curt is in to break it up! Jimmy and Jey are both in! Jimmy sends Curt to the corner with Reks and they both hit a butt splash! Jey is up top and Reks runs towards him! Reks flies and Uso jumps! He goes for a super kick, but Reks ducks and gets him up for the burning hammer. Uso slips off and hits the ropes. Roll up from Reks, but Uso flies out of it towards the ropes and Curt hits him with the cane. The ref doesn't see and Reks pins for 1...2..3!!!
Winners: Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks

I'll give it to Hawkins and Reks, they played the heel tag team to a tee. It was Tagging 101, but they did it well. Reks is growing, but at such a snails pace that I am sooo uninterested. The match was just below average. It had a good ending sequence, but also had one too many restholds.


After the match, Striker comes running down, presumably to tell the ref that the win was a foul. Hawkins decks Striker right in the mouth and they jet.
