Against All Odds Video Package
Jeff Hardy and Bobby Roode comment over highlights from Against All Odds, where Sting counted the three count for Bobby Roode.

Opening Promo: Bobby Roode
Bobby Roode, still the World Heavyweight Champion, hits the ring (presumably to be interrupted). Roode pretends that the piped in “boos” are actually the fans saying Roode. Roode makes Christy reintroduce him, and actually gets real heat this time. Were he a face, they would all be saying “Roooooooooooooooooooode!” when he comes out. He says screw the fans, since they didn’t think he’d be the World Heavyweight Champion tonight. He tells them to shut up, you know, since they were chanting his name like a face. Roode points out that he played Sting like a fool. That’s not exactly an exclusive group of people, Bobby. He says Sting should blame himself, since he helped Roode win. That’s Sting for you. He says Sting can’t do a damn thing about it, which was his cue to come out…

The Angry Icon Authority Figure @Sting makes his way to the @ring. He’s serious Sting…for now. He admits that his anger & rage affected the outcome of the match, once again screwing Jeff Hardy. Sting is going to get right with Jeff Hardy. Sting is glad Roode is a fighting champion, because he’s got Jeff Hardy tonight. And it will be for the World Championship…right here…tonight! No count out, no DQ.

Ta-ta for now. He didn’t say it, but it was implied. Oh, and according to Sting, that match is NEXT!

[Commercial Break.]

TNA World Championship Match
Bobby Roode (champion) vs. Jeff Hardy

WE start hot, as Hardy brings the attack to the champ. This is no time limit, no DQ. No countout? Not sure. Tenay references the “format,” as if the viewer cares about his damn format. Roode comes back with a Samoan Drop, and takes control before being sent to the floor by Hardy. Slingshot by Hardy (too soon) follows them to the outside. Hardy has a chair, and goes to work on the champ. Sting is trying to correct a wrong as Brandon Jacobs looks on. Interesting camera angle from the ceiling—I like it! Hardy rams Roode head first into the steps, and continues to wear him out around ringside.

Tenay keeps referring to this as “one more chance” for Hardy, but they haven’t called a final title shot or anything. It’s still all Hardy on the outside, too. Hardy motions to the fans, and that is all the opening that the champ needs. He’s becoming quite the veteran! Hardy reverses the Canadian Whip, and sends Roode knee first into the steps. Sting asks the fans to move, as he’s about to get all Parkour on our asses! John Morrison FTW! Poetry in motion to the champ against the rail! Roode is down, Hardy’s face is glowing magenta, Brian Hebner’s shoes are glowing blue and eight minutes into the match we’re headed for a commercial!

[Commercial Break.]

We’re back, and in the ring! Front suplex by the challenger gets two. Hardy sends Roode to the corner, hits an elbow, heads up, only to have Roode push him off. Tenay calls it a short cut, even though he never complained about Hardy’s actions on the outside. Tax explains why it was smart. We head back to the outside (I guess the in-ring action was reserved for the commercial break), where Roode takes his turn beating on the challenger. Roode elicits some real emotion from the fans, proving what I’ve known for a while—he’s a legit heel. Roode goes for the piledriver on the floor—that never works. Roode eats a backdrop instead. Hardy leg drop to Roode on the ramp. He makes his way up to the stage with Roode, and throws him to the floor. Zack Ryder took it much worse than that! Hardy dives from the stage to the floor as the bad taste in my mouth gets worse. TAKE THE STAIRS NEXT TIME!

Both men snag a quick coffee break as we’re now past the 15 minute mark. Hardy takes off the top of his wetsuit, and Kurt Angle is here! Angle attacks Hardy, rolling him into the ring. Roode is waiting…SPEAR! SPEAR! SPEAR!
Winner: Bobby Roode (pinfall via spear), 17:26, ***

We get a few replays as Tenay & Taz wonder what the story is with Kurt Angle. Just when you think you have all the answers…

[Commercial Break.]

Bobby Roode backstage
Bobby Roode claims he showed why it’s the “It Factor” once again, but Sting says that he’s just getting started. Sting announced a #1 contender match (with no participants), and Roode says “Good!” Until Sting leaves, then he shows his true emotions.

Eric Young backstage
Eric Young holds a guitar, talks about his MMA training, and some other stuff that is related to wrestling. Eric Young is going to win ODB back tonight.

Sting backstage
Sting is backstage yet again, saying he’ll get to the bottom of the world title situation. He’s talking to two unnamed people, who are revealed to be Bully Ray & James Storm. He’s putting them in the #1 Contender match, and they argue about who won the World Title. It’s a “date

[Commercial Break.]

Jesse Sorensen Update
We come back cold, with a Jesse Sorensen update that totally throws Zema Ion under the bus. I kinds wish they didn’t show him lying motionless on the floor. I’m all for the update, just do it with Tenay & Taz sitting at the desk, not using the footage.

X-Division Tag Team Match
X-Division Champion Austin Aries & #1 Contender Zema Ion vs. Shannon Moore & Alex Shelley

Would a win here make either team the #1 Contenders to Samoa Joe & Magnus? In the tag team division, one win is a “streak.” Aries is directing traffic, and starts off with Moore. Great wrestling by Aries to start, and Moore makes the mistake of locking Aries in a headscissors. Aries relaxes in the corner and Ion tags in. Moore takes over, hitting a twisting crossbody for two. Shelley tags in, and drops a double axe-handle from the top to Ion. Shelley goes to work on the arm, taking a look or two at the champ. Zema steps on Shelley’s foot, then grabs a headlock. Standing headscissors by Ion, and he shows off for his own partner. Aries with a chop, and that’s a legal tag!

Moore tags in as well, and goes to work on both opponents. He sends Aries to the outside, and celebrates to a mild reaction. Baseball slide to Aries by Moore, followed by an Asai Moonsault. WHY ARE WE DOING THIS RIGHT AFTER THE SORENSEN VIDEO?!?!? Ion is mad about Hairspray. It wasn’t the best movie ever, huh? Shelley begs for the tag, heads up top but misses the double stomp. Aries blocks Sliced Bread, and nails the dropkick to the corner. Ion with the blind tag, rolls up Shelley with some tights for the tre’.
Winners: Austin Aries & Zema Ion (pinfall, Ion rolls up Shelley), 4:07, **1/2

Gail Kim & Madison Rayne backstage
Gail Kim says no one appreciates her. She’s giving out title shots like Velvet Sky gives out…well, she’s generous! Madison Rayne sets up the battle royal, and Gail Kim calls her a true friend. Gee, I wonder where this is headed…

Earlier Tonight…
Kurt Angle returned, attacked Jeff Hardy, and handed Bobby Roode the win.

Knockouts Battle Royal for a Title Shot
Participants: Tara, Brooke Tessmacher, Sarita, Rosita, Winter, Angelina Love, ODB, Mickie James, Velvet Sky

Much like Monday’s RAW, the heels don’t get an entrance. Velvet Sky comes out last, not Mickie James. Rosita considers the fact that she would have earned more at Sunglass Hut tonight. Gail Kim & Madison Rayne enter to Rayne’s music and canned heat. They’re excellent heels, they don’t need Karen Jarrett.

Madison would like everyone to understand that Gail Kim is a gracious champion. She owes them nothing, but much like Vince McMAhon she’s all about opportunity.

Bell rings, and I’ve got nothing. It’s a battle royal! Winter is out first. Tessmacher is out next. ODB gorilla press tosses Rosita to the floor. WHY ARE WE STILL DOING THAT AFTER WHAT HAPPENED ON SUNDAY?!?!? ODB goes after Mickie next. Christy updates us on the eliminations. Angelina & Tara work together, joined by Sarita, to get rid of….no one. Mickie James and ODB are finally eliminated, and we’re down to four: Velvet, Angelina, Tara & Sarita. Tara is eliminated by Angelina, and has tweaked the knee. We’re down to three!

They stand off, and it appears like they’ll double team Velvet Sky. Taz’s head just exploded. Side note: Eric Bischoff just arrived. Just now? Who rewrote the show? Dave Lagana? Sky tries to eliminate Love, and Sarita kicks her ass. Literally. Double crotch shot (by the camera man), and Brandon Jacobs is happy. Velvet Sky makes the big comeback, trying to eliminate Sarita (who hangs on). Now we’re both trying to eliminate Velvet. Sarita remembers that there are no partners here and takes a shot at Angelina. Then then team up as Gail & Madison watch on. Does anyone remember that they’re the tag champs? Didn’t think so.

Botox Injection on Velvet, but they can’t eliminate her. Sarita eliminates Angelina, and Velvet is still in! The crowd goes mild! Great dropkick by Sarita, and Velvet is down. Sarita charges, Velvet ducks and eliminates her! Here comes Madison (SHOCKER!). Madison eliminates Velvet, and she gets the win! HA!
Winner: Madison Rayne (beautiful brilliance), 6:29, **

Gail Kim is pissed.

James Storm backstage
He knows that Bully Ray is dangerous, and he takes out some aggression on the wall. Dude, do some yoga.

Bischoff and Gunner are headed to the ring…NEXT!

[Commercial Break.]

Samoa Joe & Magnus backstage
They gloat, and Magnus makes some great points about their win. Rematch next week? No problem.

Garett Bischoff/Gunner/Daddy Bischoff/Daddy Hogan video
We cover the match, where Hogan was concerned about Garett’s condition. Garett wouldn’t let Hogan throw in the towel, he wanted to fight on.

Promo Time with Eric Bischoff & Gunner
Hey, they’re joined by Ric Flair and a girl! It’s Chelsea! Welcome back. Chelsea reached out to them, so Eric is happy. I would be, too. Eric declares the Garett project dead, meaning the one thing it isn’t is dead. He wants Garett to get a job, possible become an electrician. He wishes Garett the best of luck in his future endeavors, and they plan to party.

Bully Ray backstage
Ray references the calves, indirectly referencing The Rock. He makes a prediction: Bully Bomb for the win! He directs the camera man back to the calves. They are impressive, by the way.

Storm vs. Ray is NEXT!

MMA Uncensored Live “interview”
It’s an MMA show for adults. Okay. Some serious name dropping in that one.

Eric Young backstage
Eric tries to make up with ODB. He didn’t get her anything for Valentine’s Day, and ODB lost her match. He wrote a guitar song (“My O.D.E. to O.D.B”) and I am checking out of this segment NOW.

Main Event: #1 Contendership Match
Bully Ray vs. James Storm

I must admit, I can’t stop looking at Bully Ray’s calves now. Thanks, Ray! James Storm’s theme song is still one of the best in wrestling. The man brings the country music concert with him, and I don’t mean Mickie James! Two weeks ago, the world champ went on early and the main event was James Storm vs. Bully Ray. Two weeks ago.

The bell rings with 25 minutes left in the program. Taz has been following Sting since he got on Twitter, which was what…a week ago? Earl got tripped! Or he fell, I’m not sure. Back and forth action early on as Bully Ray goes to work on the leg of Storm, and Taz expertly points out that it could eliminate the Last Call Superkick. That requires selling, Taz. Ray pulls Storm’s boot off, locks in the leg and works on the hands, too. Great heel work by Bully Ray. They have yet to claim that the winner gets a shot at Victory Road, by the way. Tenay says both men want a one-on-one match with Roode. I bet they want Sting as far away as possible, too. Bully Ray continues to destroy Storm, and the fans love to hate that man.

You know, without boots on a wrestler really looks like some dude standing around in his underwear. Half crab by Ray, followed by an elbow to Storm. Storm grabs the chain, but Bully takes it away. Commercial time!

[Commercial Break.]

We come back as Bully Ray avalanches into James Storm in the corner. Ray continues to work over the leg, and yells a Senior Hebner in the process. Ray mocks the crowd as well, as James Storm tries to mount a comeback. Big boot misses, code breaker, Last Call Superkick!
Winner: James Storm (Last Call, pinfall), 12:21, **1/2

This match was just really Ray beating up Storm, and Storm getting the win out of nowhere. Storm celebrates with Brandon Jacobs on the outside. Bully Ray attacks Storm, and stands face to face with Brandon Jacobs—who wants no part of this. Shouldn’t Bully shake his hand? Is he a Jets fan?

Bully Ray spits beer into the face of Brandon Jacobs, who “snaps.” One shot and Jacobs tells Ray that he isn’t from New York. Jacobs, of course, is from Louisiana. TNA officials D-Lo Brown, Al Snow and Pat Kinney hold Jacobs back

Coming up next, live reaction from James Storm, and Sting will announce when Storm gets the title shot! Watch the ratings tank in the last segment!

James Storm & Brandon Jacobs backstage
We’re back with highlights of Brandon Jacobs, and we drop way too many SportsCenter references. Storm actually gets to cut a real promo, which is his real talent. Jacobs said he got the last word, but it wasn’t quite understood yet. I love shoot comments that aren’t meant to be shoot comments.

Promo time with The Icon Authority Figure Sting
Sting has some good news, but he calls out Bobby Roode. Are we starting next week’s episode now? Roode is out, and Sting announces Bobby Roode vs. James Storm inside a Steel Cage at Lockdown! And Sting’s delivery is so horrible—he doesn’t build to the big moment at all. Bobby Roode goes low, and proceeds to beat Sting down—probably for botching the big announcement. Roode puts Sting’s sunglasses on, then levels him with a belt-shot. Sting is bleeding and Roode goes to work. This has been brewing for months, but you wouldn’t know it—Tenay & Taz don’t mention it. Roode tells Sting to mind his own business, and we’re out.

DeMarco’s Knee Jerk Reaction
This was an average edition of Impact Wrestling. We got four matches, the longest being the opener. None of the matches really lit the world on fire. The removal of James Storm’s boot really hurt the main event, and the opener spent way too long on the floor. I loved the way Madison Rayne plays her character, and she was one of the highlights of the night. The other two were Bully Ray’s heel antics both backstage and in the ring, and Bobby Roode’s heel antics during the whole show. TNA has some really strong heels to build around. I look forward to seeing the ratings, but for the wrong reason. I think the end of the show is going to really tank, just because the main event ended and it really seemed like we were going off the air early when Tenay mentioned what was next. Sting did a horrible job announcing the Lockdown match when he said Lockdown in the middle of the announcement—but he’s Sting, so no one backstage will offer him that feedback. I am fine with the announcement itself—in fact I like it. But the execution was poor. Bobby Roode saved it with his beatdown of Sting. With Storm vs. Roode already announced for Lockdown, Sting vs. Roode will be a great feud to put even more heat on the champ. Average show, but a step back from the prior two weeks.
