411’s WWE NXT Report 03.14.12

March 14, 2012 | Posted by Tony Acero

I missed last week, did any of you notice? Probably not, considering it’s NXT. Anyways, even with Wrestlemania looming, this particular show has no invigorating news or momentum and is at the epitome of a stalemate in terms of excitement and wrestling, but hey…let’s give it a chance, right?

Tony Acero is MY favorite recapper, Maxine!

Matt Striker is in the middle of the ring with Big Willie Regal hisself! It appears his official title is “Match Coordinator.” Tonight has a very special theme, apparently, and Regal says that every single match will be a tag team match. When and how to use your partner correctly is vital. It takes some people a lifetime to acheive, so let’s start with the first match. If Regal starts each show with how it’s important, such as this, it’d be excessively entertaining.

Before the match begins, Titus and Young come out and mock The Usos pre-match dance.

Match 1: The Usos vs. Titus O’Neil and Darren Young
We’re starting with Jimmy and Titus. Jimmy with some elbows, then sends Titus in the corner and tags in Jey. Double team from the Usos. Snapmare into a cover for 1. Titus hits a high knee then drops a forearm and a headbutt to Uso. The headbutt doesn’t work, though, as Uso’s remind everyone that Samoans have hard heads. Jimmy hits a headbutt himself and sends Titus in the corner for a tag. Jey is in, hits a clothesline, pin for 1…2..No. Titus is able to pull Jey towards the ropes and tag in YOung. Young walks right into an uppercut. Headbutt from Jey. Jey slams the head of Mr. 30 Days off into the turnbuckle then whips him across the ring, right over the turnbuckle. Tag to Jimmy as he flies over the ropes right onto Young! The other Uso does the same and flies over atop of Titus as we go to break.

Back, and Jimmy Uso has control with some rights. YOung breaks out with a kick to the knee, then sends Jimmy to the boot of Titus in the corner. Titus tosses Jimmy to the ropes then goes down, but there’s Jimmy to kick and bring Titus to the corner. Jey tags himself in then gets a few rights in. TItus uses his power to send Jey to the corner, though, and Darren slams his head to the buckle, then whips him to the corner. Jey hops over the ropes and hits a right, but Titus distracts, Young clotheslines then Titus kicks him down. Young rolls him back in then tags Titus. Young with a leg drop. Titus with another leg drop then an elbow. Cover for 1…2…man, this is boring. Titus with a right to the face of Jey. Titus backs into the corner and gets a tag. Darren with the fireman’s then chokes Jey on the ropes. Cover for 1…2..NO! Young with a….well, with a crappy head lock into a cravat. Uso tries to fight out but Darren just toses him down hard. Tag to Titus. a right. Tag to Young again and Young sends Uso to the top of the turnbuckle. They trade rights but Uso pushes Young away then kicks him right in the face. Young tags TItus and Jey goes on the to tag Jimmy. Jimmy is on fiyah! He hits the corner with a cross body then sends Titus to the corner, sitting and hits a butt splash. Tag, so Young comes in and breaks it up. Jey is in, Young sets up for his finisher. Jimmy sends him to the outside. Tag to Jey. Jey flies off the top to cover Titus and gets the 1….2….3!!!
Winner: Titus O’Neil and Darren Young
Le Sigh. Yet again, there was nothing exciting here. It was extremely generic with very few splashes of pizazz.

Earlier today, Regal was in the backstage watching Alex Riley and Percy Watson talking about basketball. Riley says that Percy would rather look good and lose, than look bad and win. Out of nowhere, Curt knocks the ball out of Percy’s hand with his Kane. They are about to lock up but Regal is there and says that they look like they seem to have issues. He makes the match and says if Curt and Reks lose, they’ll be doing Regal’s laundry.

Match 2: Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins vs. Percy Watson and Alex Riley
We’re starting with Percy and Curt. Lockup to start and Percy sends Curt to the corner. Ref breaks it up and we restart. Curt runs to the corner and tags in Reks. Reks is in. Kick from Percy then a few rights. They trade blows, but Percy fights out with a kick then sends Reks to the corner. Whip into a dropkick from Percy. Percy with th ecover for 1. Another kick from Percy then he hits an uppercut and another right. Reks uses his power to sends Percy into the corner, but Percy fights out with some elbows. Reks tries to send Percy to the corner,, but Percy reverses and does it the same. Riley is getting yelled at by the ref so Curt and Reks double team. Reks with a tag. Curt comes in with a suplex and a pin for 1…2..Nope. Curt sends Percy to the corner, gets the tag, trips up Percy then rolls out of the ring. Reks withh a knee to the face of Percy and a cover for 1…2..NO! Reks with a knee to the back and a hard axe handle. Reks is up with a front face headlock. Percy tries fighting out, but Reks hits a hard right. Reks hits Riley off the apron then sends Percy to the corner. Curt is tagged in now and he’s got a cravat locked in. Percy tries fighting out but Curt sends him to the corner and tags in Reks. Reks wih a clothesline. Reks lifts up Percy, hits a kick but there’s Percy with a hip toss. Percy hits the tag and here coems A-Ry. Reks with the tag as well!

Riley with some rights then a clothesline! Riley goes up top, but Reks distracts. percy is in to get rid of Reks and Hawkins pushes Riley off the corner then heats the heat-seaking elbow and pins for 1..2..3!!
Winner: Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks

A bit more exciting than the first match, but still very generic. Percy is exciting, but the more I see him in matches, the more I realize they are always giving him the face-in-peril role.

Curt says that Regal needs to look for someone else to do their laundry. Reks says they’re just getting started.

We’re backstage and Maxine is tossing down a picture of Reagan then calling Striker ridiculous. She has a picture of The Queen, with a bow and an envelope and sets this up where Reagan was. Out of nowhere, Kaitlyn runs into her. That looked horrible. It almost looked like Kaitlyn was pushed into her. She said she was playing tag with Derrick. Kaitlyn said that someone cancelled her reservation, so she almost missed her flight. In comes Derrick, saying save this for the tag team event, tonight. Here comes Curtis, saying that the four of them should get started now…this is all weird and not in a food way. Curtis sniffs the hair of Kaitlyn before Maxine pulls him away by the ear. Kaitlyn tags Bateman before leaving.

After a little snippet of HBK’s presence on RAW, we get Michael McGillicutty in the ring, watching last week when Tyson kneed him up. McG says over the last two weeks, he’s had a fly buzzing around his head. He calls Kidd pathetic. He says Kidd is just another average, every day loser like the audience. He then says that these people yell for his autograph. He brings up Kidd hanging with Bret and how that don’t mean shit. He says that he grew up with wrestlers, they hung out at his house. The crowd chants You Suck, so he asks for some respect. Kidd wants a rematch, but McG says it’s not going to happen.

Kidd is at the top of the ramp and questions him being a loser, as well as the people. He says although the people don’t have a mic, he does. Who is he, CM Punk? The facts are that he respects McG. He sees and hears the passion. Kidd says he’s been wrestling for over half his life. McG says Kidd doesn’t get it. Kidd brings up that his first match in WWE was when he was 16. McG says enough with this heart shit. Kidd never was a heart, and it doesn’t matter how long Kidd is in this business, because he will never be a Hart! Kidd decides the time for talking is over and hits McG with a microphone. The line of the night fucking comes from this older chick in the crowd when she says, “He’s more of a Hart than you are Perfect!” After much brawling in th eback, Kidd sensd him in the ring and tries to lock in a sharpshooter. McG rolls out of it though, then yells that Kidd will have his rematch and he’s coming for Kidd. Regal mentions that he’ll make it happen, and we get our rematch.

Match 3: Derrick Bateman and Kaitlyn vs. Johnny Curtis and Maxine
Ladies are starting this one off. Maxine runs and Kaitlyn hits some toe holds that are more like thigh holds. Maxine sees Derrick and slaps him hard. Kaitlyn and Maxine are about to lock up, but Bateman is in the ring. There’s some miscommunication as Bateman and Curtis try to hold the ladies back…we’re going to break and that was stupid.

Back to the show, Bateman is hitting a chop on Curtis. Bateman sends Curtis to the corner then flies with the knees, but Curtis moves quickly and gets some work leg in before cinching the leg. Curtis drops a knee on the leg of Bateman then gyrates his hips towards Kaitlyn. Curtis with a body slam and looks over a Kaitlyn while bent over. He slowly saunters over towards Kaitlyn and Bateman rolls him up for 1…2..NOPE! Curtis with a hard clothesline into a pin for 1…2..NO. Curtis with a leg lock as he stares at Kaitlyn. Bateman tries fighting out with some kicks then hits an enziguri. Curtis is near the corner and gets slapped by Kaitlyn. Bateman with his front faced smash thingy and a pin for 1…2…3!!!
Winner: Derrick Bateman and Kaitlyn

Not bad, all things considered, but certainly not the greatest. The pinning sequence was good, though.

Derrick Bateman’s mom is in the crowd and Kaitlyn and Bateman hug her. In the ring, Maxine berates Curtis. At the top of the ramp, Kaitlyn hugs Bateman. He grabs the mic and says that Maxine is crazy but she is free to do whatever she wishes to do. Regal, Curtis, whoever she wants to be with is fine. She’s done playing games. He tags Kaitlyn, then kisses her atop the ramp.

William Regal, what makes you happy?
