Commentators: Kevin Kelly & Prince Nana

Karl Anderson vs. Michael Elgin
Elgin got an early nearfall with a back suplex. Elgin was in control after that. Anderson came back by going after Elgin’s left knee. Anderson worked the Crazyhorse over for a while after that. Elgin eventually came back with a rolling elbow to the back of the head and a Buckle German. Elgin then hit a bossman slam and a bridging German suplex: 1…2…no. The crowd is certainly not molten for this. Elgin went for the Fucking Machine suplex, but Anderson avoided it and hit a Brogue Kick from the apron. Anderson then hit a diving neckbreaker: 1…2…NO! Elgin came back with an Air Raid Crash and a corkscrew senton: 1…2…NO! Elgin hit a buckle bomb, but Anderson came right back with a Brogue Kick. Elgin fought back with some kicks and a backfist. Anderson then hit a sit-out tombstone: 1…2…NO! Elgin then got a loose small package, but Anderson survived and caught Elgin with an Ace Crusher: 1…2…3.

I was at Supercard of Honor 2013, and just like then, I was completely baffled by the fact that Ring of Honor fans did not really seem to care about Karl Anderson. The only thing I can guess is that the crowd was more casual than usual because of Wrestlemania. Anyway, this match was good, but it wasn’t the blowaway match I expected.
Match Rating: ***1/2

Daviene vs. MsChif
To call MsChif’s current run in Ring of Honor “directionless” would be a massive understatement.

MsChif dominated the early goings. Veda Scott did a run-in. They did an awful pull-apart brawl. Whatever.
Match Rating: A Veda Scott Push

Inside Ring of Honor
BJ Whitmer spoke about his troubles and why his upcoming ROH World Title is so important to him. This was really good.

Prince Nana started singing about being in the money. He ran away from the commentators table. Hashtag Silas Young Please.

Kyle O’Reilly (w/ Bobby the smelly Fish) vs. Davey Richards (w/ Eddie “Eddie Edwards” Edwards)
Davey hit Kyle with a soccer punt off the apron right away. Davey hit a second soccer punt. Back in the ring, Kyle hit a sequence of strikes to the head. Kyle got control of the match. Kyle was in control for a while. Davey came back with a tombstone. Davey then went for a diving headbutt, but Kyle caught him with a triangle choke. Davey made the ropes, and he then dumped Kyle to the floor. Davey hit a tope suicida. Back in the ring, Davey got a nearfall with a missile dropkick. Davey went for the Alarm Kick, but Kyle reversed it into a bridging Regalplex: 1…2…NO! There was a commercial break.

Back from the break, Davey got a cross armbreaker, but Kyle reversed it into a Drunk Lock. Davey escaped and hit a Falcon Arrow, which he then transitioned into a cross armbreaker. Kyle made the ropes. Davey came back with a sunset flip powerbomb, running soccer punt, and a ghetto stomp. Kyle came back with a Drunk Lock. Davey tried to escape, but Kyle transitioned into a sharp shooter. Davey made the ropes. Davey went for another tope, but his knee gave out. Kyle then hit a brainbuster to the floor!!! That was awesome. Kyle dragged Davey into the ring: 1…2…NO! They went to the top rope, where Davey managed to get a triangle choke. Kyle fell on top of a table. Davey Ghetto Stomped Kyle through the table! Kyle crawled into the ring and spat in Davey’s face! Davey hit three kicks to the face: 1…2…NO! The kicks finish actually got a reaction! That never happens! Davey got a cross armbreaker, and Kyle then tapped out!

I think it’s safe to say that this is the best match these two have ever had in Ring of Honor together. They didn’t do much of the unnecessary Fighting Spirit nonsense, and in fact, the big spot (brainbuster to the floor) came from Davey selling his knee! The last five minutes made this something special. Personally, I don’t see the pointy of Davey going over Kyle again. Kyle is the future of ROH, and he needs to start being booked as such.
Match Rating: ***3/4
