— Cody Rhodes is on commentary with Josh Matthews.

Christian vs. Damien Sandow
They stand off to start and Christian locks in a back waist lock. Stalemate. Lockup! Another stalemate. Lockup and another rear waist lock from Christian. Sandow fights off with a shoulder block. We’re getting a nice slow start to what seems to be a lengthy match. Another lock up ends with a bunch of reversals and a headlock takeover by Sandow. Christian is quick to reverse and deliver a clothesline and a side headlock takeover. Sandow goes for a back suplex out of that but Christian hangs on to the headlock. These reverse arm bars. Sandow does a nice a beautiful cartwheel before a near fall. They continue to scout each other and Sandow chokes out Christian with his feet. Flapjack by Christian! Sandow rolls to the outside of the apron and Christian charges him. Sandow gives him a shoulder block but Christian escapes. Christian dropkicks Sandow under the bottom rope and Christian rolls him in. Christian misses a body splash off the top but stays in the game. Christian clotheslines him over the top and both men are down on the ground.

Sandow reverses a crotch to the ring post and sends Christian face first into the ring post! Count out victory!?!? Sandow misses a knee drop and escapes with a clothesline to Christian. Sandow hits the elbow of disdain! You’re welcome! Knee rakes to Christian faces are delivered before a bevy of shoulder thrusts. Christian goes upstairs but Damien fights it off! Superplex to Christian from Sandow! Double clothesline~! Cody says “what a match” but I’m a bit underwhelmed. Christian fights back with a clothesline. He chokes Sandow on the middle rope and hits a beautiful dropkick off the top rope for a VERY CLOSE near fall. Christian charges at Sandow in the corner but eats a boot! Christian comes out on top with a reverse neckbreaker for TWO! Christian leaps up to the top turnbuckle and delivers a nice roll up for two. TORNADO DDT? NAH! Sandow escapes and hits his patented neck breaker! TWOOOOOOO AND A FRICKEN HALF! Christian hits a tilt-a-whirl elbow off the top and sets up for the Killswitch! Sandow reverses into a nice Edgucutioner! Christian counters a clothesline and hits the Killswitch! DONE. They started slow and worked a great long fought match against one another. It wasn’t perfect and a few spots were sloppy but it was a great effort from both men. When I tune into Main Event, I really appreciate the long fought matches.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Christian @ 16:42 aired via pinfall

– Classic Colter on the way to the ring. America began on the 4th of July. It should be a day where we honor our forefathers. We should be proud to be Americans on days like this. Most of the Americans have used today as an excuse to cook burgers and party until they forget their name. Zeb is going to bust out his Google translator to talk to Sin Cara. No he’s not. He thinks Sin Cara should learn English instead. He actually goes on to say something in Spanish but I missed it and can’t research due to time restraints.

Sin Cara vs. Jack Swagger (w/ Zeb Colter)
SIN CARA LIGHTING~! Sin Cara kicks Swagger in the thighs but Swagger fights back with knees to the gut. He’s absolutely unstoppable and ferocious for a moment with those knees. Flippy shit from Sin Cara! Sin Cara goes for a dropkick beneath the bottom rope. The traditional double leg went wrong as Sin Cara got caught and took a slam into the barricade. Swagger is attempted a count out victory. Cara rolls in at 9! OMG! Here we go. BREAK.

-Commercial Break-

Swagger grabs a body lock and escapes. Sin Cara goes for a roll up and Swagger fights back with rams in the corner. We get some back and forth before Sin Cara goes for a top rope! He misses a rana and then escapes a powerbomb attempt! He hits an enziguri to Swagger and hits a crossbody off the top for TWO! Swagger reverses another rana into a sideslam! PATRIOT LOCK! IMMEDIATE TAP! Good back and forth match! Swagger and Sin Cara have pretty good chemistry.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Jack Swagger @ 7:56 via submission
RATING: **1/2

– We get an awesome Mark Henry video package hyping up Mark Henry and his match at Money in the Bank with John Cena.

– Big E Langston enters with AJ. AJ hits the announce booth as we head to our last break!

-Commercial Break-

Big E Langston vs. Curt Hawkins
Big E dominates immediately. They lockup and Big E dominates him. We get another lockup and Big E sets Curt on the top rope and smacks him. No go for Curt. BEAR HUG BY BIG E~! Back body drop by Big E to follow that up. Big E chases Curt around the ring. Curt kicks him upon re-entry and he gets a few dropkicks and corner strikes in. Big E hits his big tackle as AJ claps at the announce booth. Big E hits the big splash on the back of Curt. The singlet is coming off. BIG ENDING~! This was a decent squash! Big E looked good and Hawkins had the crowd behind his comebacks.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Big E Langston @ 3:56 via pinfall
RATING: 3/4*

OVERALL: A bunch of solid in ring action led to a solid episode of Main Event tonight. Like I said, I like the direction the company is headed and this show was a good example of what I enjoy.
