Diva’s Championship Match: AJ Lee (w/Tamina Snuka) vs. Natalya
Lock up. Head scissors take down by AJ. Natalya rolls her up for two. AJ locks in a side headlock. Natalya can’t shake her off as we proceed. AJ keeps the clench. They exchange submission attempts with nobody coming out on top. AJ goes for a sunset flip but Natalya doesn’t budge. AJ decides to go for the legs of Natalya to slow her down. Natalya side steps a splash and delivers a scoop slam. She corners J and delivers some stomps. Natalya goes upstairs and AJ yanks her legs out from under her. AJ tosses her to the outside as we head to break.

AJ has a chinlock applied as we return from commersh. Natalya escapes but eats a spinning heel kick to the face. AJ covers for two. Natalya finds herself on the outside and Tamina goes to work! Stomp stomp stomps from Tamina. AJ rolls her back in. Tyson Kidd watches the match from the monitor backstage. AJ locks in a sleepah hold. The crowd rallies behind Natalya but she can’t getter done. AJ tosses her to the mat and skips. Nattie rolls her up for two. She goes for a scoop slam but AJ reverses into a tornado DDT. She gets two off that and begins losing her temper. She goes for the black widow but Natalya arm drags her way out and delivers a clothesline and a snap suplex. She follows through with a dropkick to the back of the head and a really weird looking spear. It was like a discus spear or some shit. AJ rolls her up off a Sharpshooter reversal and gets two. She locks it in for the third time. The crowd is popping (a molly and sweating). Tamina rolls into the ring and delivers a heel kick to Natalya and saves the title for AJ.

This was a very solid divas championship match. They’re at the top of a thin division and worked very well with the time they were given. No slow spots, nothing sloppy, and a smart finish to get them in a match at Survivor Series. Check it out if you dig some good women’s wrestling.

OFFICIAL RESULT Natalya @ 9:02 aired via DQ
RATING: ***

-Commercial Break-

– A video package covering the Big Show/Randy Orton rivalry airs. It’s more of a Triple H angle really, but that’s something we’re aware of having to deal with. It’d be far easier to swallow if he actually got in the ring with the wrestlers he feuded with and put a couple of them over.

– Tyson Kidd hugs Natalya and tells her that it won’t be her last chance as she cries.

-Commercial Break-

– Michael Cole does a WWE.com exclusive interview with Kane. Apparently the vicious side of his character is just something that he uses to advantage. He’s growing and evolving. He uses larger words than what we’re used to seeing on WWE programming. I can dig Kane being the cold and calculated heel with a dark side. I don’t love the back story but it’s fine.

Justin Gabriel vs. Tyson Kidd
They exchange wrist locks. Calling the crowd lukewarm for Kidd would be a large exaggeration. Technical wrasslin’ counters follow. They go over the top rope and battle it out. Kidd hops the steel steps to avoid a crash landing into it Gabriel uses the steps for a springboard clothesline. Back inside now. Gabriel locks in a side headlock. Kidd uses some kicks to work over Gabriel and goes for the unlikely cover. He gets two. Kidd goes for a wheel barrel and Gabriel tosses him in awesome fashion. Tyson leg sweeps Gabriel off the top rope and covers him for two. Kidd tries to maintain control with striking offense but Gabriel trips him up and goes for a 450. He gets crotched but Kidd can’t take advantage. Kidd fights to his feet and delivers an overhand chop. He delivers a nice huricanrana off the top but Gabriel counters that into sunset flip after the rana and Gabriel covers him for three.

This was a pretty good match. Despite some flashy offense, I didn’t feel like they got out of second gear. Six minutes may not be much to a lot of people, but they’re both capable of maximizing screen time at this point in their run. I’d love to see them work a longer match down the line. We didn’t get to see them go home with a hot closing sequence like I would have liked. The crowd wasn’t very alive for any of it either.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Justin Gabriel @ 6:00 via pinfall
RATING: **1/2

-Commercial Break-

– We see a good majority of The Real Americans vs. John Cena and the subsequent ambush on Cena at the hands of Alberto Del Rio. ADR’s situation is a lot like Miz’s in that he doesn’t do

Prime Time Players (w/ R-Truth) vs. The Union Jacks (Mahal ringside)
3MB has switched to ring attire plastered in the United Kingdom flag and colors. They’ve changed their name to the Union Jacks as well. A FUCKING 3MB CHANT!? I’ve been waiting so long. Quick tags start us off. McIntyre and Young are going at it when Slater blind tags in. Young charges at Slater and gets tosses shoulder first into the ring post. 3MB! 3MB! 3MB! Slater beats him up a bit on the outside before rolling him in and grabbing an arm bar. Young tries to fight out of it but gets hit with a dropkick. Slater’s heel shenanigans are being met with pops. I’m glad this is on my DVR. McIntyre is in and he hits a nice suplex on Young followed by a headlock. Young escapes but Drew connects with a huge dropkick for two. Slater is back in. Him and Drew deliver a double assisted suplex. Slater taunts the ref and says WOOO. The crowd woos back. Titus finally gets the hot tag and cleans house. McIntyre delivers a future shock and Slater corkscrews over the top on to Titus for the victory.

OFFICIAL RESULT: The Union Jacks @ 6:49 via pinfall

OVERALL: Three matches is always the best formula for Main Event. All three matches were given a decent amount of time and felt competitive. We had a title match that included a bit of storyline progression and we also had a gimmick switch up! It remains to be seen if this is permanent for 3MB but at the very least, this episode felt more noteworthy than most.
