411’s Sunday Night Heat Report – 05.12.02

-Oh and apologies for the lateness, but my real job needed me to close tonight. Hope this didn’t inconvenience any of my readers. On with the show.

-Sunday Night Heat opening.

-Your hosts are Jonathan Coachman and Raven.

-Intercotinental Title Match: Tommy Dreamer vs. Eddy Guerrero(c) – Why is Dreamer getting an Intercontinental Title Match? Guerrero attacks Dreamerm before the bell. Clothesline by Guerrero as he stomps away. Belly to Back suplex. Guerrero picks him up and starts punching away on Dreamer. Eruopean uppercut, snap mare, grinds his foot in Dreamer’s face. Guerrero punches away on Dreamer, and spits on him. Bodyslam. Tommy takes over with a Spinebuster. Guerrero sent into the ropes, hit with a backdrop, Russian legsweep. Dreamer sends Guerrero in, but he meets an elbow. Guerrero charges, gets hit with a powerslam! One, two, kickout. Dreamer sent in, catches Eddy on a leapfrog, DVD, no! DDT! One, two, kickout. Dreamer goes for a frogsplash(~), misses, Brainbuster by Guerrero. Frog Splash! One, two, three.
Winner: Eddy Guerrero

-Rob Van Dam and Goldust, tonight!

-Commercials

-Clips from last Monday, of the Big Show interview, and Ric Flair joining the nWo. Mark this down. May 12, 2002 is the last time we see Scott Hall’s face on WWE television.

-Tonight RVD and Goldust! Coming up next Mr. Perfect’s last WWE match!

-Commercials.

-Behind the scenes of the Scorpion King, which is in the movies now! I still haven’t seen it, or Spiderman.

-We go to a video documenting Lita’s neck surgery.

-Matt Hardy vs. Mr. Perfect – Surprisingly no one is drunk in this match. This is Mr. Perfects final WWE match, so I guess in a way an era has ended. The two-time Intercontinental Champion goes out wrestling Matt Hardy on Heat They lock up. Matt and Perfect do some chain wrestliing, and Perfect is able to manuever him to the outside. Both men go outside now, but Perfect chases Matt back in. Perfect slaps away at the back of Matt’s head, as these two are just seemingly clowning around. Maybe they are drunk. Side headlock by Perfect her gets sent into the ropes and nails Matt with a dropkick. Kick to the gut by Perfect, followed by some chops in the corner. Sends Matt into the buckle, but gets met with a knee. Matt hits the Side Effect, followed by a bodyslam. Matt goes up to the middle rope, legdrop, kick to the gut, Twist of Fate! One, two, three.
Winner: Matt Hardy

-Next on Heat, Hulk Hogan’s thinking payback!

-Rob Van Dam vs. Goldust – Surprisingly, Goldust doesn’t come out singing love songs. Van Dam witha side headlock, sent right into the ropes, ducks a clothesline, dropkick by RVD! Goldust goes outside, Van Dam backflips to the floor. Drapes Dust across the ring barrier, legdrop off the apron! Van Dam sends Goldust back into the ring. Gets two. Goldust backed into the corner. Van Dam gets sent intio the ropes, misses a clothesline, and gets slingshotted into the ropes. Goldust kicks away on Van Dam. Goldust with a Manhattan drop followed by a clothesline. One, two, no. Van Dam slow to his feet as Goldust nails him with a left. RVD sent into the ropes, Goldust puts the head down, facebuster. Back up, stepover spin kick by Van Dam. Van Dam goes up top, he nails him with the Rolling Thunder. Two count. RVD with a kick to the head. Five Star Frog Splash! One, two, three!
Winner: Rob Van Dam
