411’s WWE Smackdown Report 3.03.05

March 3, 2005 | Posted by Nick Marsico

This is 411’s WWE SmackDown! Report. This week’s show is airing taped from Albany, New York on March 3, 2005.

John Cena is out to start the show and he has something to say about the Cabinet, because they’re pissed off. He is sick and tired of JBL. He remembers how he used to be in the crowd; how he used to pay for tickets and spend all day making signs, and he even remembers the old school WWF ice cream bars (ha! I loved those friggin’ things). Cena interrupted the party last week because he wants to fight. The basic idea is that Cena is just like the real people, unlike JBL, and he’s going to win the title at WrestleMania.

Later tonight, Cena defends the US Title against Orlando Jordan and up next, Eddy Guerrero & Rey Mysterio defend the Tag Team Championship against Mark Jindrak & Luther Reigns.

WWE Tag Team Championship
Champions Eddy Guerrero & Rey Mysterio vs. Challengers Mark Jindrak & Luther Reigns

Reigns and Guerrero start in the ring. Eddy goes for a leg but can’t get it, and they get tied up in the ropes. Reigns pushes Eddy back into the corner and hits him with a few boots, but Guerrero is able to reverse an Irish whip and get a back elbow. Rey springboards in with a double axe handle, but Reigns overpowers him and tags in Jindrak. Irish whip but Rey slides underneath, gets some punches and a snap mare followed by a seated dropkick, but when he tries for a cover the ref is distracted by Guerrero. Jindrak hangs Rey up on the top rope and Reigns comes in, choking Rey on the second rope. Hard Irish whip into the corner takes down Rey and Jindrak comes back in with a surfboard, burying his left knee into Mysterio’s back. Rey gets out with a kick to the head and comes off the ropes and gets a bulldog, but he can’t get to his corner as Jindrak tags in Reigns. Luther gets a big slam and an elbow which get 2 before Rey comes back with a front dropkick on Reigns onto the middle rope. Guerrero gets a tag in and dropkicks both Jindrak and Reigns. Irish whip is reversed but Eddy comes off the ropes with another dropkick, then gets a tilt-a-whirl headscissors on Jindrak. Double ten-punch and Rey takes Jindrak out of the ring with a headscissors. Reigns blocks the third of the Three Amigos, but Rey comes in with a seated senton allowing Eddy to hit the third, and a Frog Splash gets the pin.

Booker T vs. Heidenreich

Booker T jumps him to start, beating him down in the corner. He gets a back elbow off an Irish whip and puts the boots to him in the corner. Booker snaps off a vertical suplex and gets a chop in the corner before Heidenreich battles back and takes over. It’s short lived before Booker gets a pair of sidekicks. Irish whip leads to a pump kick as Heidenreich rolls out of the ring, but Booker T follows him. A whip is reversed and Booker goes face first into the ring post. Back inside, Heidenreich throws Booker shoulder first into the post, then goes outside and wraps Booker’s left arm and shoulder around the post. It gets Heidenreich a 2 count. Into a wristlock and Booker gets out with a jawbreaker. He punches Heidenreich to the ropes and gets a pair of clotheslines followed by a thrust kick. Cole calls the sidekick a “spin kick”, and Heidenreich gets a boot on a charging Booker and stops Booker’s momentum with a clothesline that causes him to flip Rikishi-style. Heidenreich wastes time leaving the ring to get a chair and it backfires as Booker kicks it back into his face and gets a DDT on it for the disqualification.

After the match Booker gets the Scissors Kick and follows it up with a Spin-a-Roonie in celebration.

Coming up, Kurt Angle has promised to show the footage of his attack on HBK from RAW.

=COMMERCIAL=

JBL and John Cena (with a special cameo from the Coach!) parody A Few Good Men.

Kurt Angle is out to show the footage of what happened Monday night on RAW. His Invitational opponent comes out wearing all sweats and a hood over his head, and Kurt thinks it’s Shawn Michaels. It isn’t, however, but when he is ready to begin his match the cameraman reveals himself to be HBK, and the two proceed to have a pull-apart brawl as HBK gets the better of Angle.

Mixed Tag Team Match
Dawn Marie & Rene Dupree vs. Michelle McCool & The Big Show

Michelle and Dawn start the match as Dawn shoves her down and does the old stand on her hair spot, but McCool gets out and kips up. She cartwheels out of a hip toss attempt and gets a crossbody block for 2. A handspring elbow is the end of Michelle’s offense as Dawn kicks her down and gets the tag out to Rene Dupree, and he taunts her before she gets a low blow and tags out to Show. He does Dupree’s own French Tickler and no sells some punches and the chokeslam finishes him off.

Orndorff, Volkoff, Orton Jr, Jimmy Hart, Roddy Piper, the Iron Sheik and Hulk Hogan will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on April 2.

JBL is out, and he’s not happy. He’s the greatest WWE Champion of them all and more worthy of being in the HoF than Hogan is. He doesn’t like that Cena ruined his party and doesn’t understand why the fans cheered when his party was ruined. He is angry about Cena’s actions and he despises him and what he stands for, even the people that cheer him. It makes JBL sick that at WrestleMania he has to step in the ring with a piece of garbage like John Cena. Unlike the US Champ, he’s proud that he never had to sit in the crowd. He berates children from broken homes and more or less runs down anybody poor or in tough financial situations, and he hates having to pay for people like that. He threatens to walk out if the crowd doesn’t get on their feet and cheer for him, and when they don’t, he tells them to “remember the day they lost JBL” and walks out. The camera follows him backstage and he leaves in his limo with the Bashams and tells Orlando to take the US Title from John Cena.

=COMMERCIAL=

Rey Mysterio is backstage looking at his Tag belt and Chavo comes along and puts some bad thoughts into his head, telling him that Eddy is keeping his friends close and his enemies closer.

Big Show is in the back talking to Joy about his match when Funaki comes in and tells him about how people in Japan are talking about how they’d like to see Akebono face the Big Show, and Show is definitely for that idea.

=RAW REBOUND=

Up next, John Cena and Orlando Jordan square off for the US Title.

WrestleMania Recall: Jake Roberts is accompanied to the ring by Alice Cooper at WrestleMania III.

United States Championship
Champion John Cena vs. Challenger Orlando Jordan

If OJ doesn’t win this match, JBL will kick him out of the Cabinet. Cena starts off with a quick schoolboy for a 2 count. Jordan gets a knee to the stomach and grabs a headlock takeover, but Cena rolls him to his shoulders for 2. Jordan runs into a back body drop and a clothesline and Cena gets 2 off a vertical suplex. Jordan catches Cena with a boot on a blind charge in the corner, but he comes out and takes a side slam and rolls out of the ring after Cena drops the 5 Knuckle Shuffle.

=COMMERCIAL=

Cena gets a 2 count on a hip toss as we come back and holds OJ down with a chinlock. He gets out with a pair of elbows, but after he ducks a clothesline, Cena ducks his attempt at a cross body block. Cena gets a leg drop for a couple 2 counts before measuring Orlando with some punches and boots in the corner. Snapmare for Cena leads into another chinlock. Orlando gets to his feet and backs Cena into the corner, but Cena comes out with some punches. OJ stops the rush with a thumb to the eye and Orlando gets 2 by stacking Cena on his shoulders and putting his feet on the ropes. He goes up and hits a flying cross body but Cena rolls through for 2. Cena climbs the ropes and gets a 10-punch, but OJ gets 2 off a power bomb and another pair of 2 counts from a hard right hand. He mounts Cena and punches him down for another near fall. An Irish whip leads to a back elbow for another 2 count. Snapmare and Jordan kicks Cena in the back and gets a chinlock. Cena tries to get out as Jordan takes him down for another two count with a standing dropkick. A leg drop gets 2 and Jordan goes back to a chinlock. The US Champ stands and gets a backdrop suplex and both men are down. Cena is up first but he runs into a powerslam for 2 as Orlando gets him in another near fall situation. Irish whip and Cena ducks a clothesline, coming off the opposite rope with a flying shoulder block. Cena takes OJ down with a running back elbow and levels him with 3 clotheslines and a Manhattan drop. The Throwback makes its return, but only for a 2 count, and Cena pumps up the shoes after the Protobomb. He gets the FU and the Bashams run in, but Cena disposes of them. JBL sneaks in and hits Cena with the WWE title allowing his Chief of Staff to cover Cena and win the US Championship.
