Welcome to 411’s WWE Smackdown Report 1.31.14

The Shield is out to kick off this week’s show. Ambrose is not happy about the fact that they will not be in the Elimination Chamber match. He says that they were made for the match and that everyone, Orton, Triple and the whole Authority know that if they were in the match, one of them would walk out with the title. This led to Reigns stating that he would be the winner, and he and Ambrose argued over the Rumble and the fact that Ambrose tried to toss Reigns. Rollins played peacekeeper for the team and got fired up, reminding them that the Wyatt Family is the reason that they are not in the match. Ambrose then stated that he wanted to wipe the Wyatts off of the face of the Earth, which led to Vickie Guerrero appearing. She thought that this was a great idea, and as the GM of Smackdown, she was set to make history. Triple H then made an appearance, and got rid of Vickie. He understands that the shield is angry about the Elimination Chamber, but said that they had nothing to gain from the fight and to let it go. Rollins tried to speak and Triple H cut him off, noting that he was not making a request. Reigns then got face to face with Triple H, and made sure he understood that they were not asking for approval. Triple H decided he could not talk them out of it, and made the Shield vs. Wyatts for the Elimination Chamber PPV.

Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: Antonio Cesaro vs. Dolph Ziggler w/Zeb Colter
Cesaro charges across the ring and murders Ziggler with a dropkick and covers for 2. Counters of pinning combinations, leading to a fameasser by Cesaro gets 2. Ziggler to the floor after Cesaro, rights by Ziggler and back into the ring they go. Off the ropes, Cesaro gets a tilt a whirl slam and covers for 2. Butterfly suplex by Cesaro follows, and he covers again for 2. Cesaro tosses Ziggler to the floor, as we head to a commercial…

Back from commercial as Cesaro is in control with the side headlock. Ziggler makes it to his feet, jawbreaker gets him out of that and then connects with the dropkick and covers for 2. Cesaro back with forearms, but Ziggler grabs the sleeper and hops onto Cesaro’s back with it. Cesaro fights him off and gets the gutwrech suplex. Cesaro goes for the pop up uppercut, but Ziggler manages to catch him and get a sweet DDT for a close 2. Both men fight to their feet, Ziggler tries for a Zigzag but is tossed away by Cesaro. GIANT SWING TIME! Cesaro adjusts his neck and hits the neutralizer for the win and spot in the Elimination Chamber.

Antonio Cesaro joins Champion Randy Orton, Sheamus, John Cena and Daniel Bryan in the Elimination Chamber match.

We get a WWE Network promo.

Fandango w/Summer vs. Xavier Woods w/Truth and the Funkadactyls
Lock up to begin, off the ropes and a shoulder block by Fandango. Some counters and Fandango dances. Dropkick by Woods, followed by uppercuts. Woods tries a wheelbarrow roll, but Fandango gets a German suplex out of that. Fandango slams down Woods and covers for 2. Chinlock applied by Fandango, Woods tries to fight out, does and o the corner they go. Woods this time gets the wheelbarrow into a face plant on Fandango. Jabs by Woods, fires up and lands more shots. Sidekick, off the ropes and a dropkick follows. Fandango to the floor, Woods with a flip dive over the top rope. Emma from NXT is in the crowd again, annoying Summer. Summer destroys Emma’s sign, but she has another. Woods up top, Fandango cuts him off, hits the falcon arrow suplex and that is all.

Fandango tried to continue the attack after the match, but Truth made the save. The faces then danced with the ladies.

Ryback and Curtis Axel vs. The Prime Time Players (Titus O’Neil and Darren Young)
Young and Axel to begin. Young with the takedown, Axel to his feet and tries to work the arm. Standing switch for Young, but an elbow by Axel stops that. Rights by Young, to the corner and a tag to Ryback. Rights by Young, Ryback cuts him off and tosses him to the floor. Axel tries to attack him, fails, back in and Ryback blasts Young with the clothesline. Tag back to Axel, hits his face plant neck breaker and that is all.

After the loss Titus is visibly upset, got in the ring and ran down Young for losing so quickly. Young wanted to know what the problem was and said that they are more than a tag team; they are family. Young’s mouth is busted and bleeding. Titus basically said bullshit, and that all his life he had been a winner until now, now he is a loser, and now he would get rid of the dead weight. He beat down Young, tossed him around ringside, and the Prime Time players are no more.

We get the Jake Roberts Hall of Fame announcement.

We get an Alexander Rusev promo, his valet was with him. Basically he hits shit and crushes it, his reign has begun.

Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colter vs. Christian
Swagger takes Christian to the corner right away and beats him down. Christian fights back, hit the boot and charges Swagger, who press slams him ands tosses him to the floor. Colter is on commentary, explaining why he slapped Swagger on Monday. Swagger beats down Christian on the floor, tosses him back in the ring, and covers for 2. Grounded go behind waist lock by Swagger. Christian to his feet, escapes with the back elbow, but gets tossed to the corner. Christian fires back with a right, charges in but eats a knee to the gut. Splash out of the corner by Swagger, and another cover for 2. Rights by Swagger in the corner, followed by knees. Swagger sets Christian on the ropes, follows him up but Christian with rights knocks him back down to the mat. Tornado DDT by Christian out of the corner, and a cover gets 2. They trade rights, off the ropes and Christian trips up Swagger, to the floor and lands the uppercut. Dropkick off the second rope by Christian gets 2. Christian to the second rope again, uppercut connects and he sets for the killswitch. Swagger counters, DOCTOR BOMB and that gets a close 2! Swagger is pissed, Colter tells him to focus. Christian counters the corner splash, sunset flip by Christian for 2. Swagger counters, gets the patriot lock on Christian. Christian rolls out and into a roll up for 2. Swagger misses a charge, eats the post, but Swagger runs up the ropes and Christian fights back and knocks him off. FROG SPLASH by Christian and that’s good enough for the win and a spot in the Elimination Chamber.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Christian @ 6:00 via pin

Colter was pissed off after the match that Swagger lost.

Christian now joins Champion Randy Orton, Antonio Cesaro, Sheamus, John Cena and Daniel Bryan in the Elimination Chamber match.

Damien Sandow vs. Kofi Kingston
Lock up, roll up by Kofi for 2. Russian leg sweep by Sandow, and a cover for 2. Sends Kofi to the corner, but Kofi fires back with kicks. Sandow catches Kofi with a knee as he charged off the ropes, and that gets 2. Abdominal stretch by Sandow, Kofi escapes but Sandow with the sunset flip, roll through a kick to the face by Kofi. Kofi runs wild, rights, clothesline, dropkick but then misses the cross body off the top and Sandow covers for 2. Sandow eats a sidekick by Kofi, who then misses trouble in paradise. Sandow for the neck breaker, countered into the SOS and that is all.

We see the announcement of Monday’s Steel Cage tag team title match.

Cody Rhodes w/Goldust vs. The Road Dogg w/Billy Gunn
They lockup and go to the corner right away. Cody breaks clean, which allows Road Dogg to kick him in the gut. Cody fights back, rebound clothesline off the ropes and Road Dogg rolls to his corner to talk with Billy as Cody and Goldust also talk. Back in, off the ropes, boot by Road Dogg and to the corner and he works over the heavily taped up left arm of Cody. Road Dogg keeps working the arm in the ropes, and continues the attack by slamming Cody arm first to the mat. Hammerlock by Road Dogg and tosses Cody to the corner. Road Dogg continues to ground Cody by working the arm, Cody back with a sunset flip for 2. Off the ropes, they collide and BOTH men are down. To their feet, clotheslines by Cody, leg lariat follows. Boot and then uppercut by Cody, Alabama bag buster follows. Cody with the missile dropkick as Gunn and Godust brawl on the floor. Cody takes out Gunn, and then Road Dogg rolls him up for 2. Cody back on the attack and then hits the disaster kick and that is all.

Gunn attacked Cody after the match, but Goldust and Cody fought back and they cleared out the Outlaws.

We get a WWE Network commercial.

Bray Wyatt is on the big screen for a promo, and says he loves to play games and wage war, they are a few of his favorite things. Harper adds in that the Shield have picked a beautiful hill to die on. Bray says when you invite the devil into your backyard, be careful, he may decide to stay.

The Shield (Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose) vs. Sheamus, Daniel Bryan and Rey Mysterio
Sheamus and Rollins to begin. Lock up and a side headlock and takedown by Sheamus. To their feet, off the ropes and a shoulder block by Sheamus sends Rollins flying to his corner. Reigns tags in, they lock up, off the ropes and a shoulder block by Reigns drops Sheamus. Boot by Reigns, rights follow. To the corner and Reigns beats Sheamus down with boots. Off the rope now and Sheamus stops the hip toss and counters with a clothesline. Kick to the back by Sheamus, and a cover gets 1. Uppercut by Reigns stops the suplex try by Sheamus, Ambrose tags in and beats down Sheamus in the corner with punches and head butts. He then lays in the boots, Sheamus tries to fight back, but Ambrose continues his attack. Off the ropes, clubbing shot to the back by Sheamus. Lays Ambrose on the ropes and hits the high knee, followed by the clubbing shots to the chest. Sheamus then knocks Rollins and Reigns to the floor, and as the Shield regroups, we head to a commercial…

Back from commercial, Bryan is in and working the surfboard on Rollins. Bryan releases the hold, tags in Rey and Rey hits the charging kick to the face of Rollins for 2. Boot By Rollins, to the corner and Rey with a boot to the face. RANA off the ropes, and the head scissors follows. Rey for the 619,m Ambrose in and as he tries a tilt a whirl, Ambrose firmly plans Rey on his face. Reigns tags in and pummels Rey for a bit and covers for 2. He tosses Rey to the floor, beats him down and tosses him back in. Tag to Rollins, he continues to beat down Rey, hits a knee drop and then covers for 2. He sets Rey on the top rope, follows him up and looks for a belly to back suplex. Rey fights back, elbows Rollins to the mat, goes for a moonsault, Rollins picks him up but Rey turns it into a RANA and Rollins slams into the corner. Tag to Bryan. DANIEL BRYAN HOT TAG TIME! Kicks to Reigns, knocks Ambrose to the floor, running kick to Reigns. He starts to lay in the kicks to Reigns, but Reigns ducks and charges Bryan, but is sent to the floor. Suicide dive by Bryan wipes out Reigns. Suicide dive for Ambrose! Sheamus takes out Rollin, Superman punch by Reigns to Sheamus! Bryan in and takes Reigns down into the yes lock. Ambrose pulled to the floor by Sheamus, who Brogue kicks him! Rey tags in, seated senton to Reigns. 619 try, madness ensues on the floor, and Reigns fights back and DESTROYS REY with a spear and that is all.

The Shield celebrates as Bryan and Sheamus check on their little buddy Rey, who amazingly still remains in one piece.
