411’s WWE Smackdown Report 4.4.14

It’s the last Smackdown before Wrestlemania, and that means video packages galore! In fact, I could probably recap this entire thing without actually watching it! According to the spoilers, we’ve got a Titus vs Dolph match, a Hogan appearance, The Real American vs Los Matadores, and….that’s about it. Let’s go!

Match 1: Dolph Ziggler vs Titus O’Neil

Dolph with a go behind, but TItus tosses him like nothin. Dolph reconsiders his strategy then pumps himself up. Dolph shoots for the leg, but TItus grabs him. DOlph tries to fight out, attacks the head, gets TItus to his knee, hits the ropes, and Titus tosses him aside, again. Stomps from Titus followed by hard rights on the ground. Titus with a body slam in the center of the ring. He hits the ropes and hits a big leg drop then covers for 1…2…NO! Titus grabs Dolph like he’s been beating his ass for ten minutes…then locks in a cravat from behind. Dolph struggles to get out as Titu grabs his mouth. Titus gets some leverage, but it’s short lived. Dolph is able to stand and turn then attack the mid section, only for Titus to give him a knee, raise him up and drop Dolph straight down. Titus gives a bark as Dolph stands in the corner. Titus runs…right into a boot. Dolph falls flat, selling too much, in my opinion. Dolph grabs the ropes to stand, pulls himself up, and is able to get some energy. He hits the ropes, grabs the head of Titus and beats down. Dolphy sends Titus in the corner, riases for the ten punch, gets all!! NECKBREAKER!! Dolph is hittin a stride. He hits the ropes, goes for a Fameasser, misses! Ducks a Big Boot, hits the ropes! Fameasser!! Titus is down! He’s back up! Sends Dolph to the ropes and hits a Big Boot! Pin for 1….2..NO!

Ziggles is laid out. Titus stands tall, scrapes the boot against Dolph’s head, then lifts him up.
Titus looks for a backbreaker, hits one and holds on. He drops Dolph for one more, and it looks brutal, but Dolph hops up, over Titus, ZIG ZAG! Pin for 1….2…3!!!
Official Result: Dolph Ziggler
I think Dolph sold a bit too much in the beginning, which made his comeback look all the more silly, but there was a minute or two there that was pretty cool
RATING: **

Dolph hangs on the ropes and smiles as we get our first video package! It’s actually pretty cool, with a highlighting of Andre the Giant but instead of that, how bout you enjoy the inner workings of a heated wrestling ring?

We’re back, and they’re going full bore with the video packages, this time we get the craze that is the Yes Movement, and just how it came to piss off the Biggest Nose in the business.

In an interesting twist that I damn near fast forwarded, we get a sit down interview with Batista and Booker T. It’s interspliced with video packages. We get the Rumble win, Batista’s quick turn on the fans, and how he pretty much doesn’t care about us, only that he is going to win the title, and we’ll have to deal with it. Batista claims that mania means a great deal, from the fans from all over the world and more. Essentially, Batista is motivated, ready, not afraid of Bryan, and prepared to beat dat azz.

Match 2: The Real Americans vs Los Matadores

Swagger and Matador 1 start. Swagger gets him in the corner with some raised knees. The ref stops him, and he gets some more in. Matty 1 tries to fight back but gets a knee for his troubles, then whips Swagger in the corner. Swagger sends him up, and we get a handstand in the corner then a missed kick from the top rope. Swagger tries for a back breaker, but it turns into a hurricanrana. We are backed in the corner so Cesaro tags himself in. He goes for a suplex, but Mat 1 flips over and hits a dropkick. Arm drag, one more! Mat 1 locks the left arm of Cesaro. Cesaro turns it into a body slam, WE THE PEOPLE is cut in half as Mat 1 locks the head with some scissors and flips Cesaaro over. We get a tag and another Hurricanrana from Mat 2. Zeb yells at Cesaro to straighten up and fly right. Cesaro yells back, and Zeb slaps Cesaro in the face!! Cesaro goes to attack, but Swagger stops him and plays peacemaker. Zeb’s beard is as upset as he is. Cesaro returns his attention to the match and hits a HARD dropkick to the face of Mat 2 . Uppercuts like a mufucka in the corner! ANOTHER! ANOTHER! ANOTHER! ANOTHER! ONE FUCKIN MORE!! It appears that the slap worked. Gut wrench toss over from Cesaro.

Cesaro with a suplex over the top rope then kicks Mat 2 in the face. Tag to Swagger. Cesaro locks the head and turns Mat 2’s body. Swagger with a right to the gut and some rights in the corner. Swagger with a snapmare into a double arm lock from behind. Mat 2 tries to fight out, using the crowd, but the crowd is busy doing nothing. Kick to the gut of Swagger from behind. Stomps from Swagger. Swagger tosses Mat 2 through the ropes. Cesaro on the outside with a clothesline to Mat 2!! Cesaro tosses him back first in the barricade then sends him back in the ring and pulls him center for a pin. 1. NO! Chin lock from behind. Cesaro cinches the hold, bringing Mat 2 all the way down, but he’s pumpin himself up and turns into the hold. Elbows to break it. Rights and lefts to the gut, but he is shoved into the corner. Tag to Swagger. Mat 2 tries to fight both men, but they raise him up. Double DDT! Cesaro rolls out as Mat 2 launches for a tag. He misses due to Swagger grabbing the leg. Swagger with the stomps. He drops the Mat down and tags in Cesaro. Double suplex to Mat 2 and Cesaro hops up for an elbow drop. Pin for 1…2..NO! Cesaro lifts up the Matador and hits a hard uppercut then tags in Cesaro. Cesaro is tossed by Swagger into the guy, then Swagger hits a hard clothesline and a pin for 1….2…NO! Swagger pulls Mat 2 towards his corner then gets a front faced headlock. Swagger pushed Mat 2 towards the ropes, he locks up in the ropes then hits a double kick to Swagger. Cesaro looks to prevent a tag, but Mat 2 grabs the ropes and Cesaro goes flying!!! Mat 2 reaches, Swagger stops it, but only for a second as he is kicked away. Mat 2 reaches again, but Cesaro pulls Mat 1 off the apron! Swagger with a splash in the corner! FOllowed by a Belly to Belly!! SWAGGER BOMB! Tag from Cesaro! Cesaro hops over Swagger and stomps the chest! Pin for 1….2..NO! Another pin for 1…2…NO! Cesaro waits for Mat 1 to rise. Mat 1 fights both men for a bit, reaches for a tag, but he is wasaaay off. An attempted double teaam finds both Cesaro and Swagger over the top rope!! Mat 2 is calling for a tag!!! He gets it! Tag to Cesaro! Whip, duck, shoulder thrust from Mat 1. Whip to the ropes is reversed, duck under from Mat, Hurricanrana! Cesaro ducks, and is met with a springboard elbow and a pin for 1…2…NO!!

Cesaro with a hard right! He goes for a back suplex, but is thwarted then we get some Snake Eyes in the corner FROM the Matador! High corner Senton and a pin for 1…2….NO! Swagger tries to save, and is sent over the tope rope! Cesaro sees, and kicks off the Matador from the apron. He runs towards the other, meets knees, Matador flies off! He’s caught!!! AIRPLANE SPIN!!!
Cesaro wants the Neutralizer! He hits it! Pin for 1….2…3!!!
Official Result: The Real Americans
Pretty solid match all around. Some fast paced action that sold the tag match as something worth seeing.
RATING: ***

After the match, Zeb forces a reluctant Cesaro to do the WE THE PEOPLE chant. He does, and all is right in the world.

Here’s a collection of funny cats.

A super sexy AJ Lee video package is next. 6-16-13. She’s all kinds of psycho and hot. I watched it thirteen times….you should, too.

Bray Wyatt and John Cena video package is next, with the entire RAW segment shown.

Video package of The Shield is next.

Sit down interview with Randy Orton follows. He sells himself as the top contender and that this is his time, and everyone knows it. Booker asks his thoughts about the Triple Threat and how Orton feels about that. He brings up his relationship with Triple H, but has taken after Vince McMahon a bit in calling him ruthless as a business man. He still feels that if Triple H steps in the ring, though, he is no longer his boss and will be deciamated. Orton closes with saying that he’s got no fear; he’s kickin some ass come Mania.

Check out the Top 20 moves of AJ where one is…literally…a headlock takedown. Who makes these things?

Brock vs Taker video package is next, but instead, let’s look at AJ!!

We’re back to the show, and the red and yellow is covering the arena. He poses, brothers, and grabs the mic. He says it feels great to be back at Smackdown after all these years, brother. Mania is just a couple of days away, and he’s so pumped up for being the host, that he feels like he’s the WWE Champ his damn self. It’s not rlike, he doesn’t have a lot of great Mania memories. If you remember Mania 1, with he and MR. T, they stole the show. How bout Mania 18, when he went one on one with The Great One. Insert fake chants…then he brings up Mania 3 where he pressed Andre the Giant up over his head, that had to take the take which is why it’s so important to him to hand over the trophy….and we see an image of it. It’s a gilded Andre the Giant standing with his arms crossed over his chest. It looks different than the images I saw earlier in the week, interesting. He brings up how one of the thirty men will wrap themselves with immortality. He wants to know what we’re going to do when a bunch of stuff runs wild on me.

Enjoy Mania, guys!
