411's WWE Superstars Report 05.22.14

I apologize for the MASSIVE delay here. I had some family things/personal life stuff get in the way this week. But nothing will stop me from recapping these two matches for you! There was probably a hole in your heart due to the lack of a recap this week and now I'm here to fill it.

Match times, as always, are not exact.

The Big Show vs. Titus O'Neil

Yeah! Time for a Titus match! He's easily my favorite part of Superstars every week now. The two start with a lock up and Big Show shoves Titus off early. They circle and go for a lock up but Titus gets a kick to the midsection. He goes to whip Show but Show reverses and hits him with a clothesline. Big Show then powers Titus into the corner and gives him a big overhand chop. Titus walks into another corner and Big Show gets him again. Sadly, the piped in crowd noise is SUPER obvious. Big Show gets him into the corner and goes for a third but Titus fights out. He hits the ropes and hits Show with a shoulder block sending him to the mat. Titus stays on him and throws some boots at Show. He then does the Dog Bark! YEAH! Titus locks on a reverse headlock to the seated Show and Show fights up to his feet. He lifts up Titus and hits a modified back suplex to get out of the hold. Big Show hits two clotheslines and then whips Titus into the corner. He splashes Titus in the corner and as Titus stumbles out Big Show comes and hits him with a shoulder block. Big Show goes for the chokeslam but Titus kicks him and hits a DDT for a 2 count. COME ON TITUS! Titus throws a few stomps and begins working Show over on the ground. He hits a leg drop and goes for another pin but once again only gets a 2. Titus goes back to that reverse headlock. Show powers out and flips Titus over. He immediately catches Titus with the Chokeslam and that's all she wrote.

OFFICIAL RESULT: The Big Show @ 4:00 via pin fall (Chokeslam)
RATING: *3/4
Thoughts: Sadly this wasn't Titus' strongest outing in the past few weeks. It was a showcase for Show and mainly a way to get him in front of the London crowd, I'm sure. It was what it was even though I wish it was more.

Oh man! The main event of Superstars is Cody Rhodes vs. Jack Swagger. That should be great.

They show a video for Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena at Payback. Of course, since this is Cena and it's a feud, they're ending it with Last Man Standing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it I guess.

They recap the Daniel Bryan situation including Stephanie's segment from Raw, including that super unnecessary montage of Bad News Barrett saying his catchphrase.

They show a quick recap of Batista vs. Roman Reigns from two weeks ago on Raw, including all the post match shenanigans.

They talk about Roman's nasty gash that he got during the European tour in a match against Randy Orton. It really is quite the cut.

They recap Batista vs. Seth Rollins from Raw, once again all shenanigans being included. And let me tell you, this match had maximum shenanigans.

Jack Swagger vs. Cody Rhodes

Big "We the people" chant to start. They lock up and Cody whips him off before Swagger comes back with a shoulder block. The two men circle a little and Rhodes claps to get the crowd behind him. They go through some chain wrestling before Swagger whips him off again for another shoulder block. Swagger goes for a clothesline but Rhodes ducks and comes back with a flying clothesline of his own. Rhodes hits a front suplex and gets a 1 count. He gets Swagger with an arm drag and then locks in a top wristlock. Swagger reverses and gets Rhodes with an arm wringer and some shoulder blocks. He finishes it up by lifting Rhodes up in the air by his arm and then just dropping him down. Swagger continues the focus on the left arm a little bit before getting Rhodes into the corner. He whips Rhodes towards another but Rhodes up and overs and hits a hip toss for a 2 count. Rhodes goes on the offensive now and locks in a hammerlock. He throws some knees into Swagger's tied up arm and continues the assault. Rhodes goes for a cover but only gets a 1. Rhodes gets Swagger into the corner and gets some punches in. He hits all ten and then snapmares Swagger out. He comes back and hits Swagger with a knee, getting him once again another 1 count. Swagger stumbles up into the corner and Rhodes throws a couple body blows. He whips Swagger but Swagger reverses and throws Rhodes into the corner. Rhodes comes out and both men give each other a double forearm. Zeb begins to yell at Rhodes from the outside but Goldust gets in his face. Swagger goes for a dropkick but Rhodes moves and Swagger goes to the outside allowing for Rhodes to hit a big dive and the show to go to commercial!

NXT Takeover is live on Thursday. Watch it! And read the live recap which will be written by yours truly!

Don't try this at home!

Back from commercial and Swagger has Rhodes in a sort of modified bow and arrow hold. Swagger continues to attack that left arm of Rhodes. Swagger continues to bully Rhodes and shove him around but Rhodes begins to fight back. He catches Swagger with a big kick and rushes him but Swagger hits a line. He covers and only gets 2, which Zeb disagrees with. Swagger picks up Rhodes and gets him into the corner, once again going after that arm. He whips Rhodes from corner to corner and covers for a 2 count. Swagger locks that modified bow and arrow back in and Rhodes fights up to his feet. Swagger cuts him off and goes for a back suplex but Cody flips out and lands on his feet allowing him to hit the Disaster Kick! Rhodes gets to his feet and does that drop down punch. He up and overs Swagger in the corner and gets a code red for 2. Rhodes then gets Swagger with a top rope springboard dropkick but once again it's only good for 2! Rhodes gets Swagger tied up on the top rope and kicks him in the gut. He then sets up for Cross Rhodes but Swagger counters and rolls through into the Patriot lock. Rhodes rolls forward and gets a top rope moonsault on the standing Swagger! ONLY FOR 2! Swagger gets to his feet and catches Rhodes on his shoulders going for the Disaster Kick. He drops Rhodes down and locks in the Patriot Lock and Rhodes taps!

OFFICIAL RESULT: Jack Swagger @ 10:00 via submission (Patriot Lock)
RATING: **3/4
Thoughts: I really enjoyed this match. This is probably the best I've seen since I've started recapping Superstars on a weekly basis. Cody is truly an underused talent and I do hope that he's in the mix for Money in the Bank this year. Hopefully he does big things soon.

They recap John Cena vs. Luke Harper from Raw to end the show. You all should look that up if only for the Luke Harper rana. It's a thing of beauty.

That's all folks!
