The King of the Ring Tournament rolls on and an angry giant wreaks havok on a night where the World Heavyweight Championship is decided!
It's time for SmackDown, and the crew is taped for you from London, England.
JBL is here and he's dressed in a jacket with the American flag as the proud design. He's here to TALK~! He puts over America and the United States title, then calls himself a true American HEEEEROoooo. He continues making fun of Britain for a number of reasons, including calling Tony Blair George Bush's poodle and calling all of them "America's stepchildren". He will, however, throw them a bone, as he will defend the title against the bravest Englishman, then laughs at them worshiping the Queen, angry at them for bowing down to a woman. He tries to get a "U-S-A" chant started, but they just yell "sucks" between every time he says it, and here comes the challenger, William Regal.
Regal takes the mic and agrees that Tony Blair "is a real muppet", but tells JBL that all of England thinks that America, in far fewer words than Regal actually used, just stinks on ice.
John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. William Regal United States Championship
Regal cheap shots JBL much to the crowd's delight and is in control. Irish whip leads to a back body drop and a left to the face. Regal pulls off JBL's jacket and chokes him with it and gives him a snapmare with it out of the corner. He rakes the face and gives him an elbow, then unleashes some uppercuts and a pair of knees to the face. A forearm knocks JBL down and gets Regal a 2 count. Regal chokes JBL on the ropes and then picks him up and drops him back down with some uppercuts. He continues with more uppercuts, knocking JBL through the ropes.
=COMMERCIAL BREAK=
We're back and Regal is still in control back in the ring. Knees and then JBL reverses an Irish whip and catches Regal with a big boot. Both men are down and JBL is up first. He stalks Regal and knocks him right back down with a quick right hand. In the corner he continues punching and then kicks him right in the gut. Regal battles back with elbows and forearms, but JBL reverses an Irish whip and catches him in a sleeper. Regal gets out with a backdrop suplex, but JBL gets up first and runs through him with a shoulder block and then boots him right in the head. JBL goes after Regal's bleeding ear and then takes him down with a swinging neckbreaker. DDT gets a 2 count for JBL. Regal fights back with a series of kicks and ducks a clothesline but runs into a boot. JBL goes for the Clothesline from Hell, but Regal ducks and catches him with an exploder suplex for a near fall. He takes JBL down with a big running knee, but JBL gets the ropes at 2. The Regal Stretch is next, but JBL is able to get to the ropes, much to the dismay of the England crowd. JBL pokes Regal in the eye and destroys him with the Clothesline from Hell to keep his title.
Your winner is John "Bradshaw" Layfield in 11 minutes and 11 seconds.
Kristal Marshal is backstage with Sharmell and Booker T. Booker can't wait to face Angle in the second round of the King of the Ring tournament, and Kristal wants Booker's prediction on tonight's championship match. Sharmell wants Kristal to ask questions about the next King of the Ring, her husband, not Kurt Angle. Gunner Scott is here and he tells Booker that a couple weeks ago, he defeated Booker in his debut match on SmackDown. Booker is offended by this talk and says he can beat Gunner any day and then coughs and says just not tonight, because he's got a chest cold. He will, however, find Gunner an opponent. Booker oversells the chest cold and has trouble with his catchphrase.... SUCKA.
A video highlights Kurt Angle's first WWF Title win against The Rock at No Mercy 2000.

Apparently "The Initiation Begins" as Tatanka seems to be redebuting, I guess. Weird. I thought I was watching the Discovery Channel or something.
MNM (Joey Mercury & Johnny Nitro) & Gregory Helms vs. Paul London, Brian Kendrick & Super Crazy Six Man Tag Team Match
The faces clear the ring early and then all do planchas to take the heels out on the outside. Kendrick climbs the corner, but Melina pulls him down and this allows Nitro to take control on Kendrick. Tag to Helms and he stomps Kendrick in the corner. Helms gets 2 off what I think was a neckbreaker as the replay distracted me. Tag to Mercury and he goes for three covers after an elbow drop. Kendrick fights up but takes a backbreaker, and Nitro slingshots in with an elbow off Mercury's knee. London comes in and breaks up the pin. Nitro gets the breakdance leg drop and tags in Helms. Abdominal stretch by Helms and he fights out with an armdrag. Tag to London and he gets a double dropsault on MNM and then gives them both separate dropkicks. He ducks a clothesline and gets a spinning heel kick on Helms. That gets him 2. Super Crazy throws one of MNM out of the ring and gets a plancha. Inside, London gets a small package on Helms for the pin.
Your winners are Paul London, Brian Kendrick & Super Crazy in 3 minutes and 57 seconds.
Coming up next, the King of the Ring tournament continues with Mark Henry versus Bobby Lashley.
=COMMERCIAL BREAK=
Kurt Angle won the WWF Title from Steve Austin at Unforgiven 2001 in his hometown of Pittsburgh.
Melina is mad at MNM for losing to London and Kendrick 4 times in a row. She runs into Jillian and makes fun of her for being fired last week, but then tells her she can help by putting on Melina's makeup, but she just throws it in her face, so Melina retaliates and then, as Joey Styles would say, CATFIIIIIIIGHT~! It's broken up by security and agents.
Lashley is backstage putting his tape on. He says that if he wins the Tournament, he joins a list of elite superstars in WWE. His opponent tonight is Mark Henry, and this just may be the biggest match of his career, and he's really, really looking forward to it.
Mark Henry makes his entrance for the upcoming matchup.

Mark Henry vs. Bobby Lashley Opening Round Match, King of the Ring Tournament
The men lock up in the middle of the ring and Henry overpowers Lashley. Another lockup and Lashley grabs a wristlock, but Henry overpowers him again. It's a staredown and Lashley blocks a punch and unleashes a flurry of his own. He tries to slam Henry, but he just knocks him right off and drops him with a headbutt. Irish whip into the corner but Henry runs into a Lashley clothesline, but doesn't go down. Lashley runs into a Henry clothesline, and that does take him down and it gets Henry a 2 count. Henry punches Lashley and kicks him to keep him grounded. He attemps another cover for 2. Henry picks him up for a backbreaker that gets another 2 count. Lashley fights up and tries to punch Henry down but meets another headbutt. Henry lines up a punch but Lashley ducks and hits him with a pair of clotheslines that don't take him down, but the third one is a charm and Lashley then takes him down with a scoop slam and tries the Dominator, but Henry stops him with a back body drop. Henry charges but Lashley lowbridges him and he falls over the top rope and that is enough for a count out victory.
Your winner is Bobby Lashley in 5 minutes and 2 seconds.
Lashley celebrates but Mark Henry is up and stops that, attacking Lashley on the outside of the ring. He goes for the ribs and grounds Lashley and then splashes him up against the ring post.
=COMMERCIAL BREAK=
Moments ago, Bobby Lashley defeated Mark Henry via count out to advance in the King of the Ring tournament, but Henry attacked him afterward.
Coming up tonight, Rey Mysterio defends his championship against Kurt Angle.
Right now, however, Kristal Marshall is backstage with Mysterio. He has to defend his belt against Kurt Angle. Is tonight the night he loses the belt? He says that he doesn't know that, but he does know that he is living his dream. He puts Kurt over and says he has nothing but respect for him. Tonight, he knows he's the underdog and says that the one thing he knows is that he has to stay away from the Ankle Lock. He's going to put everything he has into beating the Wrestling Machine, but if he doesn't win tonight and this is his last night as champion, it was well worth it.
Booker T is here, and next he will reveal the man he has chosen to face Gunner Scott tonight.
=COMMERCIAL BREAK=
At Vengeance 2003, Kurt Angle defeated Brock Lesnar and the Big Show in a Triple Threat Match to win a World Title for the fifth time.
Gunner Scott is here for the match, and Booker has trouble talking in order to reveal the opponent. He has found Gunner an opponent, however, and his opponent loves to fight, and he is 100 percent Irish. His opponent is Finlay. Booker T and Sharmell are off to do commentary.
Gunner Scott vs. Finlay
Lockup to start and Finlay grabs a headlock and takes Scott down. He gets a back kick to Scott's head and gets a sort of surfboard submission. Finlay unloads some uppercuts and Irish whips Scott, but he tips up and dropkicks Finlay out of the ring. He goes to baseball slide out, but Finlay catches him in the skirt of the apron. Back inside Finlay levels Scott and slams him down and gets the butt drop for 2. Finlay goes to the second rope but gets caught with boot and Scott gets some chops. Irish whip and Scott takes down Finlay with a forearm. Another Irish whip and Finlay catches him with a boot in the corner, but a belly-to-belly suplex gets a quick near fall for Scott. Finlay gets taken out of the ring with a slingshot and goes for the shelaighlaigh but takes a back body drop on the outside. Finlay distracts the referee which allows Booker to interfere, and Finlay drops Scott with the Emerald Frosion to pick up the win.
Your winner is Finlay in 3 minutes and 47 seconds.
Booker and Finlay beat down Scott after the match, but Benoit makes the save and chases them off.
=COMMERCIAL BREAK=
A video hypes up Kane's new movie, See No Evil.
Next week on SmackDown, Chris Benoit will take on Finlay in the final Opening Round Match of the King of the Ring Tournament.
Kristal is in the ring to introduce The Great Khali. Daivari says that it is a fact that the Great Khali has not only beaten down the Undertaker, but he has also broken and stolen his spirit. The Undertaker has destroyed all of his enemies until now. Khali needed nothing but his massive bare hands to take down the DeadMan. Daivari pounds it into our heads that the Undertaker is afraid of the Great Khali. Khali speaks, but all I can make out is "UNDERTAKER!", and the crowd gives him the "What?" threatment. Oh, and at the end he says "Great Khali, RAHHHHH!"
On SmackDown earlier this year, Kurt Angle won his sixth World Title in WWE, winning a 20 man over-the-top battle royal as he eliminated Mark Henry last.
=COMMERCIAL BREAK=

Scoop into a backbreaker gets a pair of 2 counts for Angle. Rey fights back with some leg kicks but gets caught by Angle on a charge and takes a belly-to-belly over the top rope.
=COMMERCIAL BREAK=
Back on SmackDown, Kurt has control of Rey, keeping him down with a bodyscissors. Angle switches to a chinlock as Rey fights up, by Mysterio runs into a knee to the gut. Kurt gets a near fall from that and picks Rey back up for a big scoop slam. He gets ready for the Angle Slam but Rey sunset flips through, however Angle rolls through for the Ankle Lock, but Rey rolls through that, and Rey rolls through Kurt's attempted sunset flip and kicks Kurt in the head and both men are down. They are up together and they trade punches. Kurt gets an uppercut and Rey gets some leg kicks and then runs off the ropes and gets a tilt-a-whirl headscissors. Rey knocks Kurt onto the middle rope and goes for the 619, but Angle saw it coming and catches Rey with a big back elbow. Irish whip into the corner but Rey gets a boot up and the wheelbarrow bulldog gets a close near fall for the champion. Irish whip reversed and Kurt gets a belly-to-belly overhead suplex on Rey, but Rey again counters the Angle Slam, this time into a tornado DDT for another near fall. Rey climbs the top turnbuckle, but Kurt scales up and takes him off with a suplex, but he only gets a 2 count.
Irish whip by Kurt and he gets shoulder blocks in the corner, but a charging shoulder block meets nothing but the ring post as Rey ducked out of the way. Angle climbs back into the ring and Rey springboards in and drops a leg over Kurt's neck as he climbed through the ropes. That gets Rey a close near fall. He goes for the wheelbarrow bulldog again, but Angle counters with a release German suplex, flipping Rey over as he landed on his stomach. Kurt gets the Angle Alam countered again, this time with a hurricanrana into the ropes and Rey gets the 619. Henry attacks Angle, splashing him against the ring post like he did to Lashley earlier, then sets Angle up on a table and splashes Kurt through the table from the apron. Henry walks out of the arena as Kurt screams that his ribs are broken.
