The Tremendous Tirade - WWE Smackdown 11.03.06
Posted by Larry Csonka on 11.03.2006

  • Remember to send your thoughts on the show for the 3R's!

    WWE Smackdown Begins…NOW!

-Rey limps out to the ring to kick off the show. He quit due to pain, but he didn't quit on the fans because they never quit on him. He quit in hopes that he could get surgery and recover to come back and face Chavo again. We get replays of the knee bashing. He thanks the fans and makes no excuses. The fans helped him win the Rumble and they helped him win the title, because dreams come true.

Chavo and Vicky make their way to the ring, with the chair Chavo used on Rey. Chavo asks Rey to say he quits again, because he wants to hear it. He then wants Rey to sign the chair, but he refuses. Chavo signs it, "I Quit" and mocks Rey. Rey tries to attack but Chavo beats him down for a while and Vicky goes to join in. After about a year Benoit makes the save and clears the ring. You would think that after last week's stuff and the fact that Chavo hates Rey so much, Benoit might have been a bit more prepared for this. And Vicky, don't wear white after Labor Day.

-Back from commercial and we get replays of what we just saw. During commercial, Rey was an emotionally broken man.

-KC James becomes more 1980's every week. Awesome strut, great sunglasses. I love this man.

WWE TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Idol Stevens & KC James w/McCool vs. Paul London and Brian Kendrick © w/Ashley

London and Idol to begin. They distract London and Idol beats him down. Slam and a tag to KC. Rights to London, and then slaps to the back of the head. London counters and tags in Kendrick. Dropkicks to all and they clear the ring. PLANCHAS by London and Kendrick. Kendrick up top…cross body to KC gets 2. Kendrick gets nailed by Idol and KC levels him with a clothesline. Tag to Idol and a snap mare and knees to the back. Elbows and a cover for 2. Kendrick fights back, but Idol beats him down. Side back breaker gets 2 for Idol. KC tags in, catapult into a right by KC gets 2. Irish whip and a side back breaker by KC for 2. Idol tagged back in, front facelock now by Idol. Backdrop by Kendrick and a tag to London. Boots to Idol, but the ref didn't see the tag. KC and Idol double team Kendrick, he rolls through and gets the tag anyway. London cleans house. Tosses KC to the floor. RANA to Idol gets 2. Irish whip and London gets the dropsault for 2 as KC makes the save. Kendrick in and tosses KC, plancha onto him. Idol with a back breaker to London after a trip by McCool, Kendrick saves it at 2. Kendrick gets the sliced bread #2 off a kick on KC, and then London gets the SSP off the back on Kendrick and that is all.

Winners: Paul London and Brian Kendrick @ 5:14 via pin (**)

After the match, Ashley kisses Kendrick and he is smitten like a kitten.

  • Well, the champs win again, and the tag division has about zero future right now. It's a shame because London and Kendrick could have had a great run of matches if there were some teams for them to face. I am also not happy about the after match deal where Kendrick is totally smitten with Ashley. It signals split to me, which would be tragic. Unfortunately I was all for Ashley being paired with them, and I should have known that they would do something stupid like this. Match was good, Idol and KC are improving a lot. KC James rules.

-Teddy meets with The King and Queen backstage. He says that with the title possibly on the line Sunday, and since he wants Booker to be the champion of champions, he has a private room and bodyguard for him. Booker disagrees, but Teddy says it will all be good. The fact that he calls Teddy "Thaddeus" rules all.

-Back from commercial with Marine propaganda.

-Cole and JBL endlessly shill the movie. Next week on Smackdown will be Finlay vs. Batista.

-Thaddeus is with the King and Queen again. Batista is the man to protect the King. The King is not impressed, because Batista is not noble like the King. He promises to become champion of champions. He reminds Batista that he has defeated him, something Cena or Show didn't do. Batista slams him against the wall and says he is there to watch his back without going through him. How dare he ruin the royal garments.

-MVP and Kennedy are backstage. They remind us this is the first time in 5-years Kane and Taker are together. They argue about who should make the strategy. Kennedy says they are no joke and MVP needs to get serious. I hate MVP with a passion of a thousand suns.

-Back from commercial with highlights of the Cyber Sunday Press Conference.

-Cole and JBL hype the tag match, which is now.

    -Kennedy does his mic shtick.

Kane & Undertaker vs. Ken Kennedy & MVP

MVP and Kennedy argue over who will start. Kennedy steps up and Kane does as well. Tag to MVP and he is in. Kicks by MVP. Rights by Kane and then to the corner. Rights in the corner, off the ropes and a backdrop to MVP. Boots to MVP, and a choke. Rights again, Irish whip and a back elbow by MVP. Diving tag to Kennedy. Kennedy in and boots and rights to Kane. Boot by Kane, running boot and clothesline to Kennedy and a tag to Taker. Tag to MVP. Rights to Taker, no sell and MVP tags out and to the floor. Kennedy avoids Taker, rights by Kennedy and shoulder rams in the corner. MVP with rights and they double-team him. Taker fights out and tosses MVP in. Kane in and double big boots. They clothesline them to the floor and stand tall.

The ref counts and Kennedy and MVP walk. They get counted out @ 4:45, Kane and Taker win.

-Teddy Long is out and says that is bullshit because this is a huge match. He tells them to go back because it is restarted with no count outs.

Kane & Undertaker vs. Ken Kennedy & MVP Version II

Back from commercial and we begin match #2 of this epic series. Kennedy lets MVP charge into the ring and Kane starts the ass whipping. Taker in, slam to MVP. Another. Kane tags in and a slam by Kane. The Mike Knox school of offense. Another slam. Powerslam and Kennedy breaks it up at 2. In the corner and Kane delivers rights. Off the ropes, boot by MVP and then Kane kills him with a clothesline. Taker in, to the corner and back elbows by Taker. Arm bar and Taker goes for old school…it connects. Taker nails Kennedy. Kane in, side slam to MVP. Kane up top…clothesline to MVP. 1…2…but Kennedy breaks it up. Taker chases Kennedy. LOW BLOW to Kane and that is a DQ.

Taker and Kane win via DQ @ 3:35.

-Teddy is out again and says this is shit as well. It is restarted and this time, no count outs or DQ's.

Kane & Undertaker vs. Ken Kennedy & MVP Version III

Taker and Kane whoop their asses on the floor and this is not pretty. Kennedy is slammed to the security wall as Kane beats down MVP. MVP is slammed to the announce table and so is Kennedy. MVP tossed back in as is Kennedy. Kane with corner clotheslines to both men. Then Taker does it. Kane again and a boot by Taker to Kennedy. Kane with rights to MVP. Slam and off the ropes, Kennedy pulls him to the floor. Ax handle by Kennedy. Taker chases him away. MVP with boots to Kane. Kennedy in and works over Kane. Dropkick to Kane. Tag to MVP, they double-team Kane in the corner. MVP off the ropes, powerslam by Kane. Tag to Taker and Kennedy. Taker cleans house, off the ropes…side slam to Kennedy. Head butts to Kennedy. Irish whip and a clothesline by Taker. Snake eyes by Taker. Big boot by Kane. Slam by Taker, leg drop to Kennedy gets 2 as MVP makes the save. Kane in, MVP tossed to the floor. Neck breaker by Kennedy. Chokeslam try stopped and a double DDT on Kane. They double cover him for 2. Taker and Kane sit up and more ass kicking. Double goozle…double chokeslam. MVP to the floor, Tombstone by Taker to Kennedy. 1…2…3.

Winners: Taker and Kane @ 6:50 via pin
  • That was one of the stupidest things I have seen in the last 2-weeks and that is saying something. And of all people, Kennedy takes the pin. WWE: We Hate Money. (BULLSHIT)

-Backstage Big Dave talks with the King and Queen. Booker wants a drink, and Dave tells him not to do it. Dave heard guys were here to mess with the King. He decides to stay.

-Back from commercial as JBL and Cole discuss the possibility that people are here to attack King Booker.

NON-TITLE MATCH : Jimmy Wang Yang w/Diva Search Amy vs. Gregory Helms ©

Arm drag by Yang. Lock up and a headlock by Helms, off the ropes and a shoulder block by Helms. Head scissors by Yang. No hands plancha to Helms! Back in the ring and Yang covers for2. Chops to Helms, off the ropes and a hot shot by Helms. Clothesline to Yang. Boots by Helms, and then chokes out Yang. Suplex by Helms gets 2. Chinlock by Helms, Yang with a jawbreaker to escape. Chops to Helms, Irish whip and a back elbow by Helms. One by Yang now. Clotheslines, kicks and a DDT for 2. Counters and a release German by Helms, Yang to his feet and a cover for 2. To the corner, Sylvan is here, distracts the ref as Yang had Helms pinned. Yang nails him, roll up by Helms and that is all.

Winner: Gregory Helms @ 3:25 via pin

Sylvan beats down Yang, and Hardy is here to even things up. Side effect to Helms and Yang tosses Sylvan. They stand tall.

  • Another non-title match? Blah. It was fine for what it was, I expect a tag match next week because these feuds MUST continue! (*)

-The Queen wants to powder her nose, you know, the bathroom. She doesn't want Batista to hear her. King asks 1 or 2, nice. Hilarity ensues and she'll just wait.

-Back from commercial with more Marine junk.

The Miz & Kristal vs. Vito & Layla

Kristal and Layla to begin. Slam by Layla. Clothesline and another. Tag to Miz. Vito in and Vito prances and Miz is afraid. Rights by Miz, boots and then rights. Hoorah. Off the ropes and a flying clothesline by Vito. Clotheslines and a backdrop to Miz. Vito dances. Dress over the head and Miz to the apron. Kristal in and Vito chases her, Layla nails her, and a tag to Layla. Kristal gets a roll up and that is all.

Winners: Kristal and the Miz @ 2:01 via pin
  • Just blah. (BLAH)

-Boogey Man makes his way to the ring. Miz and Kristal run to the floor. Vito and Layla toss them back in and Boogey has Kristal again as Miz escapes. She begs, Miz watches on, worm time. He eats them and spits them in Kristal's face. Joy. Boogey dances away.

-King talks to Dave about the hit. Dave wants a drink, and the King says he is supposed to protect them. King them asks for him to bring one back. Big Dave drinks water and then makes a bunch of noise pretending someone is outside the room. He comes back and Booker asks if he is ok. Booker says they need moved out of here right now. Big Dave smiles a devious smile.

-Back from commercial and Jamie Noble is already in the ring. That so screams jobber. We see Tatanka turning heel last week on Smackdown.

-Tatanka is out, with some new war paint on. He watches on.

    Lashley vs. Jamie Noble

Lashley tosses Noble around. Belly to belly throw. Shoulder rams by Lashley. Irish whip, boots by Noble, up top…cross body, Lashley rolls through and gets the running powerslam. That's it.

Winner: Lashley @ 1:05 via pin

-After the match Tatanka says everyone wants an explanation. He owes us nothing. He and his people are owed the explanation. He has suffered many injustices over the weeks, just like his people have over the years. He is sick of it. He has called upon the spirits of his forefathers, to unleash a new warrior through him. So if Lashley or anyone else want to stand in the way, then they will be at war with him and a whole nation of warriors.

  • Squash. Good promo from Tatanka, I wish they weren't playing the race crap, but it was a good promo. I also just wish they were doing it with someone that had, you know, potential. (½*)

-Back from commercial as JBL and Cole hype Cyber Sunday and the Champion of Champions match.

-Big Dave walks the King and Queen to their Royal Limo. Some scrubs attack, I see Cade and Murdoch. The King and Queen escape and Dave stands tall. Teddy appears and thanks him. Right now, he has to take care of something personal. He isn't waiting until next week.

-Back from commercial Big Dave is on his way to the ring. Personal business in front of a few million people is all. He watched Booker's ass all night. He wants Finlay to get his ass out here and prove that he loves to fight. He threatens to come back there.

-Finlay makes his way out. Finlay backs off and Batista chases…but Finlay attacks! They brawl by the entrance. Refs are out as well as agents. They get separated, but then brawl again. They get separated, and brawl again! IRS IS THERE! Hooray! They finally get separated and the show ends.

The Tremendous Tirade: The Rey angle was fine. It was better than I thought we would get from him, but still not that emotional connection you want with a guy like Rey. We're obviously moving to Chavo vs. Benoit, good matches but I hope the angle doesn't go where I think it may. The tag match was good, but I made my fears known after that deal. The show long stuff with Dave and the Royal Family was fun, and made for some funny moments. The Cruiserweight title is in a rut, and unless they plan on making Hardy and Sylvan cruisers, they still have zero direction. MVP's balls have been cut off and Kennedy continues to be booked like an absolute joke. The Miz is still annoying me, I hate the Boogey Man so that whole thing does nothing for me. The Tatanka angle has potential, but he is far past his so he will be a steppingstone for Lashley. The pull apart with Finlay and Batista was fine, but I am over that after seeing it done with Joe and Angle so much. That and well, Batista bores me. Better than last week I suppose, but that isn't saying much.
