The ECW's final push to Wrestlemania is in the bank!
Welcome to the ECW on Sci-Fi! As always, I am Michael Bauer, your 411 ECW Re-capper. Now, let's get right to the action!
We open with Joey Styles talking about McMahon's stunning victory last night with the headline "TRUMPED!" going across the bottom. We have the opening video and Tazz joins Joey Styles at ringside and tonight's main event will be the money in the bank 8 man tag match.
Rob Van Damn vs. Elijah Burke
RVD comes out alone tonight as the captain of the originals to face the captain of the New Breed, Elijah Burke. Burke also comes out alone, but we get no explanation as to why. The bell rings (2:53) and RVD soaks up the crowd reaction and does his finger pointing before locking up with Burke. Quick sweep by RVD gets a one count. Burke now gets a headlock and RVD reverses into a head scissors. Burke floats over for a one count, but RVD bridges out until Burke jumps off his feet and crashes RVD down to the mat. Burke gets RVD into the corner, but RVD fights out until Burke gets a knee to the gut. Burke sends RVD to the mat and drops an elbow for 2. RVD fights back and smashes Burke in the corner. Burke with an eye rake and an irish whip, but RVD floats over and nails Burke with a spinning kick to the face. RVD with a back body drop on Burke. Burke tries a clothesline, but RVD ducks and sets Burke crotch first on the top rope. RVD heads up top and hits a side kick to Burke, causing Burke to hang upside down with his feet caught on the bottom rope. He slumps to the outside as RVD heads off the ropes and INCOMING as RVD connects with a somersault plancha over the top rope. Both men are down as we head to commercial at 3:48.
Back from the break at 7:04 and Burke has a chin lock on RVD. Van Damn fights out with some elbows to the gut and RVD kicks Burke in the head to take him down. Van Damn goes for Rolling Thunder, but Burke gets the knees up. Burke with clubs to the back of the head. Burke hits a vertical suplex and rolls into a back suplex for a two count. Burke locks in a surfboard on RVD, but RVD fights out with some kicks, but Burke gets a heel trip. Burke now locks in a Texas Cloverleaf on Van Damn, which Tazz puts over as a tough move to do. RVD grabs the ropes, so Burke drops a knee to the back for a two count. Burke whips RVD into the corner hard and he drops to the mat. Burke runs over from the other side, leaps over RVD and drops an elbow on RVD's chest for a two count. Very impressive, I'll admit. RVD gets locked into another version of the chin lock. RVD again battles out with elbows. RVD irish whips Burke, but Burke puts on the brakes. RVD charges, but Burke gets the boot up in Van Damn's face and Burke still gets vaulted over the top rope. Burke heads up top and leaps off, but RVD hits a windmill kick. Both men up and RVD gets advantage. Burke avoids a kick and whips RVD into the corner. Burke drops the knee pads and goes for the Elijah Express to the face, but it gets derailed as RVD avoids the charge. Burke crashes to the mat as RVD heads up top. RVD spins in mid air and hits the Five Star Frog Splash for the three count at 12: 44.
Winner: Rob Van Damn
After the match, the whole New Breed comes out and attacks RVD, but out come the originals and the New Breed runs out of dodge.
We are back from commercial and it is time for Extreme Expose and the music is just way too subdued for this dancing. I think the song is "The Whisper Song" or something.
Backstage, Edge interrupts CM Punk and The Hardys. He admits that none of them want to team up with Edge tonight and it is mutual. Edge says they should forget about last night and they should work together tonight.
Balls Mahoney vs. Snitsky
Balls Mahoney is waiting in the ring already. That can't be good for him. Snitsky attacks before the bell and charges into Balls, knocking him outside the ring. Snitsky lifts up Balls and drives him into the ring post. Balls tries to get in the ring, but Snitsky charges with a boot to the head of Balls. Snitsky grabs Balls' legs and slingshots his throat into the bottom rope. Snitsky lifts up Balls, runs off the ropes, and drills him with the big boot of doom. The three count is pretty straight forward at 1:04.
Winner: Snitsky
We get a video package from last night's shocking victory by Vince McMahon over Bobby Lashley. So up next after the break, McMahon and Bobby Lashley will be in the ring with some point/counterpoint as Styles calls it.
Backstage, Finlay approaches Orton and Kennedy and was wondering what they were talking about. King Booker approaches as they leave and Finlay says they were talking bad about Booker. Booker offers to make a pact since they can't trust Orton and Kennedy. Finlay says you can't trust him either.
McMahon is Stamford and Lashley is at ECW and McMahon says that he was partying all night long after he defeated Lashley and that is wasn't a tough thing to do at all. McMahon puts himself over for his smarts and looks and all sorts of crap. Lashley is stone faced the whole time as McMahon talks about Umaga defeating Lashley at Wrestlemania. Honestly, McMahon was just talking and it was mostly him babbling and not really getting to the point. McMahon says if he was at ECW tonight, he would beat the hell out of Lashley. Lashley calls McMahon an old bastard and then says after Wrestlemania, Vince will be a bald son of a bitch. Lashley's one line said more than McMahon's three minutes. Wow.
In the ring, the briefcase is hanging and a ladder is the ring as we go to a break before the big eight man tag match.
8 Man Money in the Bank Tag Match: Edge, CM Punk, and The Hardys vs. Mr. Kennedy, Finlay, King Booker, and Randy Orton
We are back and it looks like we are getting separate entrances tonight. Kennedy is the first one out, followed by Randy Orton, King Booker with Queen Sharmell. The ladder is now at ringside, which must mean something. Finlay is last man out for his team. The Hardys come out together as expected and actually get their fireworks in the entrance way. CM Punk is next and he gets maybe a tenth of the reception he got last night in Chicago. Edge is last and he stares down the briefcase, but we go to another break before he gets in the ring.
We are back in the middle of the action with Matt Hardy and Kennedy in the ring. Matt Hardy has the advantage as he tags in Jeff Hardy. Double team by the Hardys with a double back elbow and elbow drop for a two count. Kennedy gets a cheap shot in and tag in Orton. Orton stomps away on Jeff and gets a European uppercut to send Hardy into the corner. Orton punches away on Jeff Hardy. Orton with an irish whip, he charges, but Jeff Hardy jumps over it. Jeff Hardy heads up and hits the Whisper in the Wind. Jeff tags in Matt and they do the old double legdrop combo. CM Punk tagged in and he gets a two count as Kennedy breaks it. Orton grabs the advantage with a boot of the corner. Finlay gets the tag and starts getting some stiff shots on Punk and a huge clothesline. Finlay lepas and sits down on Punk, getting a two count. Finlay tag in King Booker and he boots Punk in the face. Booker the rips into Punk's face with some bare knuckles. Punk battles back and gets some punches to the face. Booker reverses an irish whip and hits a back elbow before tagging in Finlay. Pinlay locks in a chinlock, but Punk battles to his feet and gets some elbows to the gut. Punk off the ropes and Finlay hits a forearm to the face. Finlay tags in Orton and Punk gets some kicks on Orton. Orton off the ropes and he gets a rolling clothesline on Punk. Orton drops a knee to the head and gets a two count. Booker tagged back in and he has a reverse chin lock. Punk forces Booker back towards his corner, but Booker knees Punk in the gut. Punk reverses an irish whip and gets the high knee and a bulldog on Booker. Edge gets tagged in, lines up the spear, and then tags Punk back in. Booker catches Punk from behind and all hell starts to break out as the remaining seven men start going at it. Through all it, King Booker catches CM Punk with the scissors and gets the three count to the end the match.
Winners: Mr. Kennedy, Finlay, King Booker, and Randy Orton
After the match, the fighting starts up again as The Hardys grab the ladder and nail Booker, Finlay, and Orton. They put the ladder on Kennedy in the corner and throw Orton into the ladder. The Hardys grabs another ladder which is higher up than the briefcase. Matt Hardy climbs up quickly, but Jeff Hardy follows and both men grab the briefcase as we fade out.
