The ECW Originals do battle... with each other and The New Breed lost a memeber... and to The Major Brothers!
Welcome to the ECW on Sci-Fi! As always, after a week hiatus, I am Michael Bauer, your 411 ECW Re-capper. And the action starts now!
We start with a photo/video package from Backlash with the bullshit of Vince McMahon as the new ECW Champion. Yes, I said bullshit and I'll say it louder… BULLSHIT!!!!!!
Opening video and we go to Joey Styles and Tazz at ringside. Bobby Lashley comes out, without the title, and according to Tazz, a torn rotator cuff. Lashley looks pissed for the revenge that Vince finally got on Bobby. Nobody is happy outside of the McMahon family, including the fans, the originals, or himself. Lashley then promises to give McMahon the beating of a lifetime and wants a rematch, injured shoulder or not.
But instead of McMahon, we get Armando Estrada in a wheelchair. Estrada promises not to ruin the night for McMahon. He blames Lashley for a bald McMahon and for Umaga not having a manager. Estrada then says that Lashley will get a rematch for the title, but that unless physically provoked, he can not touch Umaga or either McMahon, unless he wishes to forfeit his title shot. But he left someone off that list…. Hmmmm….. Armando just realized it and he has the "Holy Shit!" look on his face. Lashley grabs the wheelchair and shoves him into the steel steps before leaving. Armando literally looked like a rag doll.
Back from the break and Burke is backstage with the New Breed. Burke says he deserves a real apology and that he turned his back on them. Tonight, they follow his lead.
CM Punk vs. Kevin Thorn
As Punk comes to the ring, we video of what happened last week in England. Elijah Burke comes out with the entire New Breed and a microphone. Burke said he used the New Breed for his own goals and sent Thorn into the ring. Thorn looked surprised, but the bell rings and Punk goes behind with a hammerlock and takes the big man off his feet. Thorn shoves Punk into the corner and shoves a mudhole in him. Thorn aggressively locks in a chin lock, but Punk battles to his feet. Off the ropes, Punk ducks a clothesline and a back elbow, but leaps into a fallaway slam of Thorn. Punk gets his legs up and then starts to go to town on Thorn with punches and kicks. Thorn bounces off the ropes and walks into the GTS! Punk gets the cover and the three count at 1:43. Burke holds back the rest of the New Breed and they walk to the back disgusted.
Winner: CM Punk
We get all the originals talking to the cameras after Backlash about McMahon being the champion of the ECW for now. All of them are sick to their stomachs and Dreamer looks like he'll cry. After the break, the Extreme Expose returns. Oh joy!
And sure enough, they are the first thing out after the break, dancing to "Cherry Pie" and they look hot, but I'm still bored by the same old damn routine. Oh, now they spray each other with whipped cream. That makes it better… NOT! Seriously, this is getting old in the same way that Ron Simmons isn't.
Backstage, Thorn wonders where the New Breed was for him and Burke says there was a lack of communication between them all as Thorn was the one who got beat. Thorn then gets in Burke's face and quits The New Breed!
We got to Styles and Tazz so they comment on how unified the Originals are now that McMahon is champion. We get some other pieces of video from after Backlash and we head to another commercial break.
We are back and it's a Snitsky hype video with all the destruction he has done.
Matt Striker and Marcus Cor Von vs. Brian and Brett Major
Striker and Cor Von come out with Burke. The bell rings and Striker starts out with Brian Major and gets surprised by the young kid with an arm drag and some other quick counters. Cor Von gets caught coming into the ring off a tag but quickly takes the advantage on the outside. Cor Von hits a Press Slam into a Fallaway Slam. Dang. Another slam by Cor Von and he locks in a chin lock. Cor Von whips a Major brother into the corner, but the splash is countered. The other brother takes it to Striker, including a flapjack for a two count. Striker gets rolled for a sunset flip and grabs Cor Von, but Cor Von gets pulled out of the ring. Striker gets rolled up for real and barely kicks out in time. Striker starts stomping away and whips Major into the ropes. He leaps over Striker and connects with a cross body off the second rope. He goes for the pin and actually gets the three count for a huge upset at 3:42!!! Styles and Tazz are in shock. Burke looks like he just saw a freaking ghost. Striker is stunned and Burke goes to him as he rolls out of the ring. Burke verbally lays into Striker, saying he made Striker who he is. Striker walks away with his head down.
Winners: The Major Brothers
We see the ending of the RVD vs. Umaga match from last night with one of the most interesting endings to a match I've seen… in a good way.
Back from the break and here comes the ECW Champion, Vince McMahon. I feel sick saying that as should anybody. Styles states the provision from earlier about Lashley getting his rematch for the title. McMahon says he will do something he will regret by exposing himself… well, at least the ECW Title. He says he will defend the title against Lashley, but only when and where he says. He also says the Originals also have a problem with him as champion and say they are all pretty tough behind his back and dares them to do it to his face. They come out in full force from the back.
He starts with RVD and RVD says that he killed the ECW and says McMahon doesn't have what it takes to hold that title. He goes to Sabu and says he'll get answers later. Sandman holds up three fingers and tells McMahon to read between the lines. He then calls Dreamer's shoes fly. Dreamer says the fans demanded that the ECW come back. He then says his salary comes from the fans, not McMahon. McMahon then wonders who has enough guts to take him on one on one. They all beg for the shot at McMahon and McMahon passes on the Suicidal part of Sabu, the drunkard Sandman, the dreaming of Dreamer, and then looks at RVD and walks off. He then says all four originals will compete in a four way dance and the winner faces Vince McMahon next week. And before the bell rings, he makes this an Extreme Rules Match and has a bunch of tables and weapons brought out. There is a cement mixer out there!!! Tazz calls McMahon a genius for this idea.
RVD vs. Sabu vs. Tommy Dreamer vs. Sandman
The match starts as we get back and all four week pound fists as the bell rings. All four men try starting technical with Sabu doing a sunset flip for a pin attempt. Dreamer with a diving clothesline on Sandman. RVD starts throwing everything into the ring and then smashes Dreamer in the head with a chair. RVD backs Sandman into the corner and hits the tandem legdrop with Sabu on Dreamer. Sandman gets to Sabu as Dreamer grabs a trashcan and nails both men. Dreamer sends Sandman to the outside. Sandman puts Dreamer on the guardrail, but RVD hits a baseball slide. RVD on the apron and Sabu sets up the chair. Sabu runs off the ropes and leaps onto Van Damn as they both crash. Back in the ring, Dreamer hangs up Sandman in the turnbuckle and grabs a chair from McMahon. Dropkick into the chair into Sandman's face. Sabu nails Dreamer, but RVD nails Sabu. Sabu down in the corner and RVD with the skateboard into Sabu. Dreamer hits RVD with a piledriver. Sandman back up and it's cane time to Dreamer. Sabu back u now and he throws the chair into Sandman's face. Sabu gets a table and puts Sandman on it. Sabu goes up top and Dreamer catches him. Dreamer superplexes Sabu off the top ropes onto Sandman through the table! RVD takes advantage and hits the five star frog splash on Sandman for the three count at 6:16. RVD goes on the apron and stares down McMahon before going back to check on his fallen friends as we fade out with McMahon holding the title up high.
