Posted by Brad Borchardt on 05.26.2007
I went to my girlfriend's graduation and all I got was this late edition of 411's Smackdown Report. Actually, that is a sweet deal.
Welcome all to the Smackdown Report. It would of been up earlier, but there were some mass comunication problems and I also had my girlfriend's graduation to attend. Yes, I recap wrestling shows on Fridays and still have a girlfriend. Tonight will be a little more brief than other nights but I promise to make up for it. Here is the usual:
1. The winner of each match will receive two points unless it is by count out or DQ in which they will receive one point.
2. The winner of a title match will receive an additional point for retaining and two additional points for winning a belt.
3. The winner of the main event will get an additional point.
4. The winner of a specialty match will get an additional point.
5. In a tag team match, a wrestler on the winning team that does not pick up the win will get one point. If the match ends in a DQ or a DRAW, both members of the winning team will get one point.
6. If the match ends in a draw, all wresters involved will get half a point for participating.
7. If it is an elimination match, each elimination is worth one point.
8. If the match is for example, a Best Two Out of Three Falls Match or an Iron Man Match, each fall is worth one point.
We kick off the show with Edge coming down to the ring. He gets on the mic and talks about being opportunistic when it came to defeating Undertaker for the World Title after the cage match and beat down from Mark Henry. He also talked about beating Batista at Judgment Day. Teddy Long came out and told him he would have to put the title on the line against with winner of a Fatal Four Way Match tonight involving Kane, Batista, Finlay, and Mark Henry at One Night Stand. Also, the match will be a steel cage match.

Next up is MVP's celebration. He talks about all of his doubters and how after only seven months, he is a champion and Smackdown's M.V.P. He demands Benoit to come down. Benoit comes out and MVP demands him to shake his hands. Benoit stares him down and eventually shakes his hand. Benoit goes to leave but MVP demands him to raise his hand and to tell the world that MVP is better than Benoit. Benoit hesitates so MVP snaps at him and goes to punch him but Benoit hits a trio of German suplexes and MVP goes running. MVP did a great job here.

Final Thoughts: Some good wrestling this week aside from the main event and MVP gave a really good presentation so I gotta give this show a thumbs up. For the Smackdown Wrestler of the Year competition, Batista gets the jump of the week as he ties Undertaker for #1. Chris Benoit took the fall of the week this week as he fell out of the top three. Jimmy Wang Yang, Brian Kendrick, and Paul London all made nice jumps as well.
1. Batista (22.5 Points) (+2) JUMP OF THE WEEK
1. Undertaker (22.5 Points) (0)
3. 411 Mania's Wrestler of the Week: MVP (20.5 Points) (-1)
4. Chris Benoit (19.5 Points) (-1) FALL OF THE WEEK
5. Matt Hardy (17.5 Points) (0)
6. Finlay (15 Points) (0)
6. Kane (15 Points) (0)
6. Paul London (15 Points) (+2)
