-JR and the King welcome us!

NO DQ MATCH: Vince McMahon vs. Hornswoggle

Vince stares at Hornswoggle with a menacing glare. They lock up and Vince tosses him down. Hornswoggle looks like a sad panda. Vince tosses him down again. Vince flexes, and we get a test of strength, nope, Vince mocks Hornswoggle's height. Vince takes a knee and offers Hornswoggle a free shot, Vince pushes him and Hornswoggle still refuses to hit him. Vince is proud of himself, but then Hornswoggle does slap him. Hornswoggle looks as if he will cry, and Vince removes his belt. Finlay hits the right with his SHACKALACKI and Vince runs.

Vince gets on the mic and says he told Finlay that if he got involved, he would be fired. How dare Finlay get involved in family business. Vince says Finlay has a wife and kids. And he is about to throw their livelihood away as well as his career…for Hornswoggle. Vince tells Finlay to leave the ring, and threatens to fire him. Vince says to mind his own business, because he is about to finish his own business. As Finlay leaves Vince calls him a coward and tosses Hornswoggle down. Finlay NAILS Vince with the SHACKALACKI! Finlay then tells Hornswoggle to go up top, he does as Finlay drags Vince over. TADPOLE SPLASH! Hornswoggle wins.

Winner: Hornswoggle @ 5:48 via pin

-Vince is being check out by the doctor and Regal is here to see how he is. Vince tells Regal to get some dismissal papers ready, because he is going to fire Finlay.

    JBL vs. Chris Jericho

Lock up, to the corner they go and they break. Lock up again, JBL overpowers Jericho and they continue to fight over the lock up and as the ref separates them, JBL gets a head butt that takes down Jericho. JBL misses a boot, chops by Jericho and to the floor they go. They brawl, Jericho slams JBL off of the steps and then tosses him back into the ring and lays the boots to him. A basement dropkick by Jericho and then tries to rip JBL's nose off. JBL pulls Jericho to the floor, but he is right back in, double leg takedown, WALLS try but JBL gets the ropes. JBL on the apron, Jericho stun guns him and then gets a baseball slide and JBL falls to the floor. Jericho rolls JBL back in, chops now but JBL gets a thumb to the eye, which we all know is the great equalizer. JBL then kicks Jericho right in the face, off the ropes and Jericho gets a boot and a spin kick to connect. JBL to the apron, Jericho goes for the springboard dropkick but JBL gets a big boot to stop that. We head to a commercial @ 4:50.

Back from commercial @ 8:24 as JBL gets a short armed clothesline. And another. JBL lays the boots to Jericho, but Jericho fights back with rights and chops. Off the ropes and a sleeper by JBL. Jericho drops as JBL takes him all the way down to the mat. JBL covers and gets 2. JBL sets Jericho up top, delivers some rights and Jericho is barely able to hang on. JBL up with him, tries a superplex, Jericho fights and knocks JBL off and hen gets a Superman forearm! Jericho makes a cover for 2. Both men fight to their feet, and exchange rights. Off the ropes and a forearm by Jericho. A shoulder block and then an enziguri connects. Jericho then gets a 2nd rope dropkick and covers for 2. Jericho tries a cross body, gets caught but turns the sack of shit toss into a DDT and covers for a close 2! A boot by JBL connects to a charging Jericho, he then misses the Clothesline from hell and Jericho gets the code breaker for the win!

Winner: Chris Jericho @ 13:50 via pin

-After the match Umaga hits the ring and levels Jericho with the Samoan Spike. He then lays out JBL with the Samoan Spike!

-Mike Adamle is in the crowd and discusses Cena vs. Orton. We then get a video package.

-Regal goes to meet with Vince. He has the papers Vince asked for. He has a group of guys ready to beat down Finlay and drag him back here for Vince. Vince says firing is too good for Finlay. Next week everyone can watch, as he faces Hornswoggle in a steel cage match. Regal smiles because he is an evil bastard.

-They just showed this commercial saying there are no shortcuts, second takes, drugs or steroids. Riiiiiiiiiiight.

-Katie introduces us to us to her brother Paul. He is brutal, vicious and beautiful. All that has ever made her happy is watching Paul inflict punishment on others. He says he wants to make her happy, because what she wants, she gets.

Paul Burchill w/Katie Lea vs. Brian Kendrick

Lock up and Burchill works the arm. Takes Kendrick down, gets a hammerlock and Kendrick back flips out, gets an arm bar but Burchill gets the ropes. Side headlock by Burchill, off the ropes and a shoulder block by Burchill. An arm drag by Kendrick after some counters off of the ropes. Burchill pushes him to the ropes and then chokes out Kendrick. Short-armed clothesline by Burchill, and a cover for 2. Arm bar/chin lock by Burchill, but Kendrick escapes and gets some kicks to Burchill. He gets a corner forearm, but Burchill then gets the curb stomp and last rites for the pin. Hooray sexual tension after the match.

Winner: Paul Burchill @ 2:55 via pin

    -John Cena walks.

-Randy Orton makes his way to the ring. He will join the commentary team for this epic battle that is about to happen.

    Mark Henry vs. John Cena

They go to lock up and Henry tosses Cena down. A slam by Henry and then kicks follow. To the corner and Henry chokes out Cena. Irish whip and Cena hits the corner and drops to the mat. Henry now rips off a turnbuckle pad, Cena back with rights and lefts now. A knee by Henry stops that and he applies a full nelson. Cena tries to break the hold, but Henry just clubs him down. Cena to the corner with the exposed buckle, Henry charges and Cena moves and Henry crashes into the buckle. 2nd rope shoulder block by Cena and then the STFU. Henry taps!

Winner: John Cena @ 2:55 via submission

-Cena stares down with Orton, and then comes to the floor and Cena stares him down at the announce table. Cena grabs a mic and says Orton doesn't have to stand up and look at him. He then says to shut the hell up and listen. Cena says he is 100%, and while Orton is smart, the plan didn't work. Cena is stronger than ever and he just proved that. He is focused, and for once he is not the hunted, Orton is. Cena then promised this Sunday, there are no injuries, no excuses and for Orton there is no way out. Cena leaves and Orton bitches that Cena ran away from him.

    ~Kennedy Calls Out Flair~
Kennedy is out and says he gave Flair one week to give him an answer. He will either forfeit the match and retire, or they will have the match at No Way Out. He wants an answer and wants it now!

Flair is out and gingerly makes his way up the steps and into the ring. Kennedy asks what it will be, and Flair says they aren't on the same page. This is food for thought, a history lesson. Before Kennedy was born, twice on Saturdays and Sunday's. He did it the hard way, and if Kennedy thinks he will come out here and admit that he is hurt and can't go Sunday, well he doesn't think so. Kennedy says if Flair knew what was good for him he would do just that. Flair says he is there, face to face, but the answer is no, because he has been YOUR world champion 16-times. He knows Kennedy respects that because that is what Kennedy wants one time. He admits that Kennedy has a great future, but it will not be at the expense of Flair. To get where Flair is, Kennedy has to win and Flair has to win to survive. At No Way Out he will walk that isle like he has for 35-years, he will get in the ring and live to fight another day! WOOOOOOO! They stare down and Kennedy goes to back off, but then dropkick Flair right in the injured knee. Kennedy then gives Flair a little strut and bails. He then mocks Flair and limps up the isle. What a dick.

Maria w/Santino Marella vs. Melina w/Jillian Hall

Santino joins us on commentary. Melina takes Maria down, kip up by Maria and then a kick to the head. Off the ropes and a spear by Melina. Melina chokes her out in the corner, lays her in the ropes and gets a knee drop to the gut. Maria gets a roll up for 2. Forearm shot by Melina, elbows to the back and then a modified octopus stretch. Maria escapes, rights to Melina and a leaping clothesline. Irish whip and a ass ram by Maria. Gut buster to Melina, an Irish whip and Maria stops a float over. She gets a bulldog and Jillian gets on the mic and screams to distract Maria. Jillian then kisses Santino, which allows Melina to get a roll up for the pin.

Winner: Melina @ 2:54 via pin

-After the match Santino tries to explain himself, but then says it is Maria's fault because "OF THE PLAYBOY!" There is a Playboy curse, Torrie injured, Candice inured, Ashley we don't care about. Santino needs to know whether it will be Playboy or him. He gives her one-week to decide. He says he really loves Maria and kisses her.

-We get a wacky video for a commercial, showing John Cena and NASCAR guys kicking his ass. Tremendous.

-We get a rundown of the No Way Out Card:

He drags HBK out and covers for 2. HBK with the whip by Hardy gets the whisper in the wind! 1…2…NO! Hardy sets for the twist of fate, countered into a jawbreaker by HBK and then chops. Off the ropes and a flying forearm by HBK. KIP UP! Atomic drop, rights, a slam and HBK goes up top. ELBOW DROP CONNECTS~! HBK tunes up the Christian rock band…MISSES and then a counter by HBK out of the twist of fate and he gets the inverted Indian deathlock! Hardy fights and tries to get the ropes and he does! I hate to nitpick but... What was with Jeff no-selling the leg? You have JR and Lawler talking about the pain that Shawn inflicted on Jeff... And Jeff just got up like it was nothing.

    Still a great match, though.

"Shawn Michaels is exploding into the face of his adversary!" "Jeff Hardy is the hottest superstar in the WWE!" Man, J.R. was on a real homosexual tear during the main event tonight. Funnily enough, if Shawn Michaels DID have a move that consisted of "exploding all over the face of his adversary," I can't think of anyone who would be more willing to take it than Jeff Hardy.

Well get ready for Cena haters bitching about Cena beating Henry so fast.

I also noticed the no-sell, but at the same time HBK wasn't working the leg the entire match (he was working Hardy's back). And then there's the belief that it's better to move an injured body part to bring back the sensation. Mick Foley did this a lot, most notably in his Mind Games match with HBK, where at one point he started stabbing the knee being worked on with a pencil to get back the feeling. All in all still a great tv main event. Good go home show, all the PPV matches were effectively pushed, and I'm really enjoying the Playboy storyline.

To be honest, back in the day when a man was on a 4-5 match winning streak he was to get a title shot because of his run. Who is the only man, INCLUDING Triple H, to have such streak? Ric Flair. So Hardy being the Hottest star in the WWE is bull.

I hate I missed Burchill's re-debut. But I'm glad I turned the show on right before the HBK/Hardy match. I was fully expecting screwy ending with other chamber guys running in. How pleasantly suprised I was to see Jeff Hardy win clean.

What is with all the bitching, for chrissakes?? This week's Raw FAR surpassed my expectations. Be a little realistic with *yours*, will you? GREAT main event (I'll let Jeff's no-selling slide because Michaels hadn't worked Jeff's leg over prior to the submission hold), Paul Burchill, although grossly misused, is on TV again, Jericho got a pinfall victory and shit, even Maria vs Melina was entertaining! I'd say that at the very least meets with any realistic standards and expectations one would have for the show.

Since when was adrenaline and the desire to win, a perfectly realistic explanation, not acceptable as a kayfabe explanation for ignoring an injured knee? Lay off, guys.

Jeff Hardy IS the hottest superstar in the WWE right now. You have a point Maticus, but win loss records hardly matter anymore.

I thought it was a solid raw tonight.
We had some clean victories and it seemed as if there was more of an emphasis on wrestling than as of late but that's probably because it was taped. I can read an angle play out online but if I read about a sweet match I'm gonna tune in to see it. Smart move by WWE, I think. Here's a few random thoughts from the show...

    - Melina had some pretty innovative offense and really impressed me. I mark out for Jillian too... is that bad?
-Santino's an amazing character and a complete prick, it's great.
-I love how Kennedy interupts people. It's subtle to where it doesn't overshadow what's being said by the other person but it makes everything seem so much more realistic and less scripted.
-Completely agree with whoever said the roids commercial was a joke. My girlfriend and I both cracked up about that. I'm sure they could have come up with a better way to get that point across.
-I'm interested in seeing how long it's gonna take them to pull the trigger on the incest angle with Burchill before completely crossing the line and make a few million people extremely uncomfortable.
-I really dug Umaga samoan spiking Jericho AND JBL. I truely believe that Umaga could get over as a face if pushed properly. Maybe with the old school Kane mentality of fucking up whoever gets in his way, heel or face.
-The No Way Out card looks promising but I gotta question two chambers on one show. I'm guessin the Smackdown one will be a quick affair... possibly the opener?
    - I HATE Londrick jobbing. HATE HATE HATE it.
-Despite some stellar promo work the whole JBL/Jericho feud just bores me. Possibly because it doesn't look good on paper and I never gave it a chance but I just can't get into it.

That's all for now. Just a few thoughts on the show. Overall, it was a two hours well spent for me.

Maticus. Dude he meant hottest as in Fastest rising, and lets face it Ric ain't Rising anywhere.

I Can't beleive Vince is actually doing the incest Angle. I think its more of curiosity of it it will work or not, rather than a belief it will.

Kennedy's promo with Flair was great, I really want to see that match. I hope that that a re-match happens at Mania. I think it would be better for everyone for Kennedy (whose high on the List of Vince's personal favorites) to Retire Flair, and for HBK to become Mr. The Dropkick was a great sneak attack move, it showed that Ken is quick agile and cunning, instead of the cowardly blow from behind. Money in the Bank.

The Jeff-HBK Main Event was one of the best Televised main events I've ever seen, PPV quality! Jeff is going somewhere, He may only get the IC belt, but he brings honor to that title, and the moment Cena gets injuried again, he's the biggest pure-face on monday nights, (Thank god Lashley is gone, all the faces are moving up a Notch)

Two things: Burchill's curb stomp was BRUTAL.
Also, I'm so very glad Maria was in HD.

First off, I cannot believe Vince&Co. actually went through with this incest angle with Katie and Paul my damn self! What kind of shit is this? Really, what is going on in V's mind that would make him think this will even work in the slightest? Secondly, I liked the main event. Should've gotten more air time.Jeff is back over once again. In my opinion he should be taking some pages out of AJ's playbook to add to the arsenal. Good face to face confrontation with Flair & Kennedy. He's steadily getting back on "the come up", and I'm liking it. He doesn't need to beat Flair, but just make the match as suspenseful as possible. Keep the fans at attention. Keep me posted on the SmackDown issue I found out today as well.

Great night for Hardy. Not only did he beat HBK clean, but he won convincingly, not just a fluke rollup or something. Great RAW, overall.

Did anyone notice JR commented Katie Lea Burchill as a handsome young lady???

Posted By: Stan (Guest)  on February 12, 2008 at 01:30 AM

Obviously Hardy going over clean was great. The match itself was good, but I think these two should meet again down the line on a PPV to show what they are really capable of. Also, is that the 2nd time HBK has jobbed clean on Raw in an effort to put a fresher face over? *GASP*. Seriously though, I love HBK for doing it and wish that others (HHH/Cena) would follow this and realize it does not hurt their credibility.

Was it just me or did Kendrick get a decent reaction for his entrance tonight? He could play a great 1-2-3 Kid type role; underdog who is great at making other look good and getting the fans into matches by performing great moves that can make the fans believe an upset is possible.

Posted By: Zack (Guest)  on February 12, 2008 at 01:35 AM

Oh and I forgot to mention a minor complaint on commentary; would JR and the King please do a better job of putting over the Code Breaker? Neither one of them called the move by name, nor did they act like it was a big deal. It makes JBL look bad to job to a no-name move and gets no crowd reaction since nobody (other than Jericho on commentary after his match with Santino) seems to give the move any credibility. I rather like the move since it gives Y2J the ability to end a match out of nowhere like other great finishers (Stunner, Rock Bottom, Diamond Cutter/RKO).

Oh and King Matticus, great point about Kennedy in the promo tonight. I love it when he does that and manages to not overwhelm his opponent. And the look on his face right after he kicked Flair was great too.

Posted By: Zack (Guest)  on February 12, 2008 at 01:39 AM

Good Raw this week - one of the best in a while, 2 good TV contests (Y2J vs JBL was a good TV match and HBK vs Hardy was a great match slightly hurt by Jeff's lack of selling) plus logical advancment of 3 major angles (EC, Orton/Cena & Flair/Kennedy). A great WRESTLING show with good matches and storytelling.

If WWE can consistantly book through Mania there could be some good TV over the next few weeks.

to zack: HHH did do the job to Hardy...if you recall

but its true..Cena should do the same, i dont care if its face against face, put up a Cena/Hardy feud and i guarantee more boos would be heading Cena's way

I am sick of the last rites/roll of the dice/rolling cutter. Most overused finisher there is except maybe the powerbomb. Also, why do Jr and the King act like they have never seen it before even though Test, Carlito, Tomko, Rob Conway, and others have all used it on Raw. If Burchill isn't doing the C4 then let the curb stomp be his finisher. It looked brutal.

Gary (Guest), you talk about how Cena was a former bodybuilder like that means he did steroids...but, if we're all going to be nitpicking, in all reality, I'm pretty sure he was in those "natural bodybuilding" competitions...so, kayfabe at least, it still makes sense how he could try and pass himself off as roid-free.

John Cena on roids is as huge and evident as the nose in the middle of HHH's face

BTW HHH is going to win the EC, not even a doubt here now with wwe.com "hhh vows to win the chamber" promo

That was a great raw but i don't understand why Vince would give away JBL vs Jericho on TV after making it a DQ at the rumble

That "No Roids" commercial with Superman Cartoon Character John Cena was one of the most unintentionally funny things I've been in a long time. Who honest thought that was a good idea?

To Erik: Yes HHH did job to Hardy, but he lost to a rollup, not losing to the Swanton. Plus, HHH had that smile on his face that clearly said "this is a fluke." Not one of anger at getting beat by the better man like HBK had. Nitpicking sure, but I think there is a distinct difference on levels of jobbing.

Anyone else notice Randy Orton say stanama when he was doing commentary. I had to rewind and listen again just to be sure. Definitely my hidden highlight for the night

My favorite homosexual JR reference was during Rockers v. La Ressitance match, JR says "HBK just exploded in the face of Sylvan Grenier." I bet Sylvan kinda liked it...

I think Cena looks smaller than back at arund Summerslam. IMO< he may not be on steroids now....but that's not to say he wasn't six months ago!

I had so hoped that the return of Cena would have killed off the blue hair. But for some reason, he keeps beating people. Guess I'll just have to stick to watching two rednecks fighting over an even uglier version of Cena's spinner belt with toy beer bottles on it.

I know this has been said before, but why in the hell was Jeff Hardy's match non-title? The last time he had a title defense, he won via DQ in 3 seconds! I just think that the fact that the Intercontinal Champion is in the main event, it should be for the title to add a little inportance to the match.

This was a great Raw. The opening segment was great and the crowd popped louder than I could have ever imagined when Finlay knocked out Vince. Vince/Finlay at WM24 seem imminenet, and while it seems odd that Vince would fight a mid-carder at WM, who knows maybe this will thrust Finlay into the main even scene. He certainly is over now, and can be even more over if they continue to build him.

The JBL-Y2J match was in my mind fantastic and even before the clean finish, I was wondering how they would finish this feud and still keep both men looking strong.

Enjoyed Burchill's debut and GODDAMN Katie Lea is hot!!!!

Main event was very good, but I do think it was hurt by Jeff's no sell at the end. I mean he is trying desparately to pull himself up by the ropes, then magically pops up, hits the TOF, then runs up the rope for the swanton. Even after the match, he no sold the leg. Also, he needs to start actually hitting the TOF. It look ridiculous when Jeff is already ont he mat, and HBK is still standing and then just falls down as if the force of the move brought him down.

I think Hardy is great and am enjoying his push, and thought it was a good match overall, but sloppy at the end.

Great Raw to lead into NWO and begin the WM build.

The only problem I have with Hardy's IC title "run" is that it's never at the forefront!

Defend it. Then, maybe then, it will have some merit. Until then, it's nothing more than the European title.

I actually have nothing bad to say about Cena today- but man what an immaculate job HBK did trying to make "the rainbow haired slob" jeff hardy look like a million bucks. Go to a gym Jeff. Wrestling is dead.

Raw was really good tonight...great way to have the go home show for the PPV. They made the major angles (Chamber, Flair/Kennedy, even Cena's match) seem important.

I like how they're setting up Burchill, even though I detest the incest angle, I just hope they have him become a contender to Hardy's title.

I'm looking forward to the NWO PPV.

Get that IC belt off of Jeff Hardy! He can be screwed out of it so that he still looks strong, but the belt is completely useless.

Glad to see Burchill back, that curb stomp looks damn brutal. I was hoping to see him do the standing moonsault he did in OVW. I too found it funny that JR called Kate "handsome", Stan.

Regarding Jeff "no-selling" the leg injury... I was watching Wrestling Reality (A show following a wrestling company and doing a documentary style look at it...) and one of the veterans told a rookie that you do not sell on your comeback, as it takes away from the impact.

That was the WORST EVER ACCENT on Katie Lea... and what the hell is the WWE doing paying Mike Adamle when he doesn't wrestle, or even promote the storylines (he just tells us to watch the clips which we would do anyways...)

Just finished watching RAW. I agree that the curb stomp really needs to be Burchill's finisher, that was a cringe worthy move. The follow up move was just not really needed and just felt like another normal move, not a finisher type.

I also thought like others here that Jeff should have sold the leg after the leglock. Maybe not during the twist of fate, but while climbing up the ropes for the swanton afterward. And I would argue with anyone who says you don't sell during your comeback. You just don't sell to the point where it detracts from your comeback. Some of the best comebacks have built in sells to add to the drama, like trying to pick up a large man after he's worked your back over.

Overall though, really nice RAW. I am really enjoying Jeff's push, and I was afraid it would die after that Royal Rumble 'one RKO and you're dead' finish. And that IC title needs to go off him now to both push him beyond that level and get it to someone else who needs it and will defend it. I'm not sure exactly who though.

I too think that the Curb Stomp should be Burchill's finisher, it definitely is a finisher and should have been the end of the match once he hit it.

This was quite some Raw and I concur that if the booking and quality of matches is this good all the way until WM then we are in for a very good six weeks. Now onto the Jeff Hardy and Shawn Michaels. My intrest was piqued when I heard that these two were going one-on-one on Raw, mostly because it makes more sense to have a heel versus a face in such situations. However, this could be an example of some good short term and some great long term booking. In my dream booking for Mania - HHH wins the elimination chamber pinning Hardy after Hardy has been the man in from the very start. Hardy has already pinned Michaels and Michaels has beaten him down afterwards allowing HHH to make the pin. the next night on Raw Michaels says that he is fed up and wants to prove that he's the greatest. He challenges Flair at WM and beats Flair, becoming a total asshole on the way and heeling up to a huge extent. At WM Hardy wins the Money in the Bank and immediately inserts himself into the Main Event, which would then be Orton - Hardy - HHH, Orton having destroyed Cena at NWO. Hardy wins the title at WM, the same night when Matt finally wins the US Championship - the show ends with the brothers in the middle of the ring, with both belts - huge moment etc. JR should compare Michaels and Hardy during the match saying how Hardy is the new Michaels or something like that. The next night on Raw and fully heeled up Michaels comes out rplays the clip beats the crap out of JR and then challenges Hardy - this fued would be huge and could last at least 2 or 3 months, until Hardy finally loses the belt to michaels giving him one last title reign, which at this stage he truly deserves. This would be amazing.
