411’s WWE Raw Report 03.24.08
Posted by Arnold Furious on 03.24.2008

Welcome to 411's exclusive Raw coverage. If you see it someplace else it means they borrowed it. I don't see how hard it is to write a report on something though? Is it really that hard?

In the meantime and you're waiting for updates why not read the IWA-MS Sweet Science Sixteen 2000 recap I did the other day. The show is terrible but the write up isn't! And if you're done with that I've also got NWA Bunkhouse Stampede all reviewed and rated. I'm always open to suggestions on what material to cover in the future so feel free to shoot ‘em my way.

This week's Raw seems billed around the three WWE title competitors. With the added bonus of CM Punk/Chris Jericho v MVP/Carlito to build up the Money in the Bank match now the field is somewhat open following the departure of the suspended Jeff Hardy. Should be interesting to see who shines in that one. Also members of all three rosters are in attendance this evening so we should see multi-branded antics at some point this evening.

We're in Colombia, South Carolina. Flair Country. Hosts are Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler. JR reminds us that Wrestlemania is in SIX DAYS. That's next Sunday folks.

PROMO TIME – John Cena. He's all revved up for Wrestlemania. He reminds us what happened over the past few weeks and all the injuries those involved in the main events have suffered before segueing into impressions, good ones, of HHH & Orton & himself. He says we're 6 days away from the big dance. He says he's doing pretty good after surviving 17 guys last week and thinks he'll win at Mania and become WWE champion. Very mixed reaction for the promo as per usual. He gets cut off continuing by THE BIG SHOW. He says Wrestlemania is all about him ending Floyd Mayweather's career. He says everyone, including Mayweather's family, is pulling for him to win. This also gets mixed reactions. He says him knocking out Mayweather will replace Hogan slamming Andre as the most replayed moment in the history of Wrestlemania. But before he can continue out comes JBL. "You can eat Floyd Mayweather for all I care". He says he makes history not Big Show. He revealed Finlay for what he is and put Hornswoggle in hospital. He says he'll deliver the greatest beating in Wrestlemania history because his match has no rules. JBL pushes his luck by running his mouth at Cena who retorts by telling him he didn't hear what he said because he was remembering how he beat JBL for his title at Wrestlemania. This brings out RANDY ORTON. He runs through all the possibilities of outcomes at Mania and that no one thinks he'll retain his title. But he likes that and feeds off it. He says he'll be the one people are talking about when he wins the triple threat match and retains his title. Out comes UMAGA. He grabs the mic. "Batista!" Samoan gibberish follows. I think he's saying he's going to fuck him up. Cena is fluent in Samoan and translates. He says Umaga said Orton loves boy bands, sperm whales and watches My Two Dad's all the time. Out comes TRIPLE H to a really big reaction. He stops off to plug his new t-shirt. He says everyone had a great argument…apart from Randy Orton. He says there's ONE reason they're in this business and it's the WWE title. He says they'd all change their spot in a heartbeat to get a shot at the belt. H's says there's a reason Mania is taking place in a building with no roof because if there was a roof they'd blow it off. H's says the King of Kings is going back on his throne. JBL interrupts and everyone starts jawing at each other. Out comes Raw GM WILLIAM REGAL. He says they all have a claim for being the stand out draw at Mania. So tonight's main event is a Wrestlemania Showcase match. 8 man. No DQ. Orton/Umanga/JBL/Show v Cena/HHH/Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair. That's your main event!

CHRIS JERICHO/CM PUNK v MVP/CARLITO

We get clips from Smackdown where Jericho guested and shoved MVP off a ladder. The Wrestlemania Press Conference is at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York Wednesday at Noon. 4 of the 7 MITB competitors are in this match. Punk starts out sweeping MVP's legs. They really start quite fast and Punk gets a leaping calf kick. Jericho in but MVP avoids him by tagging out to Carlito. Jericho dominates with a back elbow and some forearms. Carlito gets dumped on the ropes and Jericho connects with a springboard dropkick. MVP thinks about coming in but Jericho sees him and scares him off. Ad break! We come back with Carlito stomping Jericho. Jericho suckers Carlito in though and sets up the Rope Ride. Jericho thinks about a quebrada but opts for a slam instead then misses the Lionsault. Carlito gets caught in the Walls anyway only for MVP to save and Jericho straps him in it instead. Carlito saves. Jericho lost his focus there. Carlito is able to take over with a neckbreaker for 2. Now MVP wants in. Jericho avoids the Yakuza Kick though and hits a flying forearm. Hot tag to Punk. He boots MVP in the face. Snap powerslam gets 2. Punk with knees and the high one in the corner. Carlito gets knocked off the apron and bulldog leaves MVP down. Punk is ready but MVP ducks the springboard crossbody. Jericho stops the count and they start wailing on each other. Jericho misses an Enzuigiri and clocks Punk with it instead leaving him down for an MVP pin.

Winners: MVP/Carlito via pinfall. **. Match was fine and they add another layer of tension ahead of Money in the Bank. I want to see Punk-MVP long term because their cameos here were very tidy.

BACKSTAGE Mr Kennedy gets his chance to talk about Wrestlemania. He predicts history will be made. Ric Flair will be retired. Undertaker's undefeated streak ends. And Mr Kennedy will win Money in the Bank and he promises to cash the briefcase in THAT NIGHT and win the WWE title.

VIDEO PACKAGE – Ric Flair. Fuel's "Leave the Memories Alone" plays while we see footage of him over the past 30 odd years. The promos are worth it alone. We move on with some cheating, limo riding, kiss stealing and bleeding. WOOOOOOO! Chopping. Strutting. Titles. Respect. Great video package from the WWE. His family is at ringside and they applaud the footage. Meanwhile Flair wants to confront HBK tonight.

VIDEO PACKAGE – Big Show training. He's been working on his boxing and studying Mayweather's fights. Show persists that Floyd can't hurt him and is trapped in the ring with him. The shot of Jericho getting knocked out a few weeks back shows his punching power.

HARDCORE HOLLY v GREAT KHALI

24 man battle royal has been booked for Wrestlemania. The winner gets a shot at the ECW title. Holly tries getting a few punches in but Khali's big arms block everything. A couple of big elbows slow Holly right down. Khali with a nervehold. Holly elbows out of it but gets BRAIN CHOPPED. Tree Slam! Goodnight Bob.

Winner: Great Khali via pinfall . Squash!

PROMO TIME – Ric Flair. Lots of love for Flair including much bowing. He says it's nice to hear people respect Ric Flair. He's pissed off because he doesn't know if he beat Vince McMahon. He won the match but Shawn Michaels, who he told not to interfere, did so and helped him. Flair thinks HBK has no confidence and faith in him and because of that he's losing respect for him. He says there's a failure to communicate so he calls Shawn's ass out right now. Shawn says he's sorry Flair has lost respect for him. He says he never lost faith in him. Shawn puts Flair over saying he always had back up and had his bases covered. He says he thought he was doing what Flair would do. He says Flair will always be a 16 time world champion and continues to go on until Flair cuts him off. "SHUT UP". Flair he says he doesn't need anybody to tell him who he is. He's feeling good about himself. He pulls out the NWA world title belt he won in 1981. Cool. Flair gets excited and lists off all the guys he beat to defend it. Flair reminds us he picked Shawn for Wrestlemania not anyone else because he wants to prove he can get it done at the biggest stage of them all. He says he needs Shawn to bring out the best in him so he can carry on with his life. Shawn assures him he'll bring everything. They shake hands. Flair goes to leave but Shawn isn't done. He has a story. The story of Old Yella. They loved that dog. But when it was time they took him out back and finished him. Shawn calls Flair "Old Yella" and says on Sunday he'll put him out of his misery. Flair considers that fighting talk and throws down his belt, mic and jacket. "Old Yella, are you kiddin' me?" SLAP! OHHHHHHH! "Why don't you take Old Yella out right now? I'm beggin' ya". Shawn is having none of it and he walks off. Crowd doesn't like it.

VIDEO PACKAGE – Floyd Mayweather. We see his hand speed. He says he's mentally stronger and physically quicker.

CLIPS – Big Show on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

MARIA KANELLIS v MELINA PEREZ w/Beth Phoenix

Candice Michelle re-broke her clavicle last week so she's out of Wrestlemania. She had surgery today. Melina starts fast but runs into both of Maria's feet. Beth trips her up behind the ref's back. This brings Ashley Massaro out here. She's in the ring and Beth comes in to argue. Crowd boo's the hell out of this. Santino Marella is down here as well. Jerry Lawler decides to try and tidy the situation up. A 6-person fight ensues. Regal is out here and he books an Intergender tag match RIGHT NOW!

JERRY LAWLER/MARIA KANELLIS/ASHLEY MASSARO v SANTINO MARELLA/BETH PHOENIX/MELINA PEREZ

JIP. Santino jumps off the top and Lawler punches him in the gut. Lawler with more punches and a backdrop. Dropkick! Atomic drop and Santino tags Melina. She provokes Lawler. JR calls this his dream come true. Ashley tags in and NAILS Melina with a forearm. Maria in and she gets the Broncobuster. Melina slaps her for that but Maria responds with a handstand kick. Beth tags in and spinebusters Maria. Santino tags in so Maria belts him across the face. Ashley comes in and they team up with repeated bitchslaps. Lawler gets involved with some punches. Maria gets clipped by the heel girls leaving Santino to cradle her for the pin.

Winners: heels via pinfall. * fun though technically poor 6-person thing. Santino's celebrations are a little elaborate.

BACKSTAGE Cena is goofing around with Val Venis & Cody Rhodes when H's turns up to get intense. He reminds us that Cena beat him two years ago at Wrestlemania. He says he lost but he's the better man. He seems upset that Cena keeps getting in his way of the title. If he does on Sunday H's will mow him down. Cena says he never lost that title. And if H's wants him he'll be standing in his way.

VIDEO PACKAGE – John Legend tells us he'll be performing "America the Beautiful" at Wrestlemania.

HALL OF FAME – JR says the final inductee is going to be named tomorrow on ECW.

SHILL – Wrestlemania 24. Show v Mayweather. Finlay v JBL (Belfast Brawl). Money in the Bank Ladder match. Bunnymania (with Ashley replacing Candice). Ric Flair v Shawn Michaels. Edge v Undertaker. Orton v Cena v HHH. That's the card. We get some video of the participants.

RANDY ORTON/THE BIG SHOW/JBL/UMAGA v JOHN CENA/TRIPLE H/SHAWN MICHAELS/RIC FLAIR

Show will be on the Today Show Wednesday morning with Mayweather. Tension between partners Flair & Michaels after their earlier confrontation. They eyeball each other before any of the other faces get out here. Show refuses to bail out with the rest of the heels. H's comes out last, which is interesting. Show moves out of H's way, which is even more interesting. There are certainly hints in those moments as to what'll go down at Wrestlemania. H's also plays peacemaker between Shawn and Flair. Shawn-Orton begins. Orton controls with punches. Shawn retorts with his chops. Maybe that's even more of a message to Flair than usual. Usually the message is one of respect. In the middle of them locking up FINLAY strolls out here. JBL immediately goes after him but Finlay nails him with the shillelagh. A brawl, of the Belfast variety, ensues and we have to take an ad break. We return with Orton-Shawn still going on. Umaga tags in to deliver more of a beating. Shawn is doing his usual job of selling for the monsters. Shawn chops away but Umaga thrust kicks him. Buttalanche!! Umaga wants the Spike but here comes BATISTA clearly upset with what Umaga said earlier. They brawl around at ringside and Batista hits a spinebuster on the floor. They're trying to remind the WWE they're actually on the card for Wrestlemania. Shawn gets bieled by Show as they leave. Show cleans house on all the faces. Orton seems to be suggesting don't need any partners because of Show's dominance. He slams Flair. Orton is directing traffic. Show seems content to mess Flair up. FACE BUMP! Flair gets a few chops in but Show backdrops him. Show stops off to tell Orton to shut his mouth and that gives Cena & HHH a tag. They go to suplex Show but can't get him over and he counters into a double suplex. Show asks Orton if he'd like a tag. "No" he replies so Show biels him in and chokeslams him. So much for Randy Orton's team. Show takes a walk. H's and Cena argue over who gets to beat up Orton. Wrestlemania Showcase folks! They brawl out to the floor over it leaving Flair to Figure Four Orton but Shawn lays him out! BOOOOO! Crowd don't like that and this match has totally broken down. Shawn goes for his finish so Flair nut shots him and Figure Four's Orton for the win.

Winners: Ric Flair via submission. **1/2. If that is to be Ric Flair's final appearance on Raw it was a fun way to go out. I'll miss you, Naitch. Thanks for the memories.

Have a good week folks and don't forget Wrestlemania next Sunday. As if you would…

I'm all for Flair getting the win in what could be his last RAW match... But did
he really need to beat the WWE champ?

You mean to tell me that JBL couldn't afford to get pinned but Orton could?

What with the crappy build up, it sure was hard to tell that WrestleMania was 6
days away.

Posted By: JJ (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 12:05 AM

My bad, I meant to say that Orton shouldn't have been the one to tap out, not
get pinned.

Sounds like a great shill for WrestleMania. I might have to check this RAW out.

Couple of comments, first I loved that they changed Finlay's music back, though
JBL completely no-sold the shilleagh. Great idea when the shilleagh will
probably play a role in the finish of their street fight.

Great job putting the Big Show over in the main event. Cena and HHH got their
asses kicked by Show. If they can book him like this after Mayweather it would
be great.

Finally nice job putting over Flair one last time. Orton did a great job
selling the Figure 4 (and was pretty funny during the whole match). I am
praying that Orton does not get lost in the shuffle after WM because he has
done a great job the last 8 months.

While Raw was entertaining this week, it felt to me like I was watching a WWE
Informercial for WRestlemania. I mean I have never seen so little actual
wrestling and so many video packages before. Guess I'll have to wait till
Impact and Smackdown to actually see some wrestling. They plugged Wrestlemania
so much tonight that it actually convinced me to not purchase the ppv.

What a lousy show.

there isn't supposed to be that much wrestling tonight especially 6 days before
mania. Why have someone god forbid get hurt. People stop bitching for god's
sake.

Not that WWE really cares much about continuity any more, but technically,
Batista should've caused the face team in the main event to lose by DQ when he
attacked Umaga, especially since Umaga was the heel team's legal man.

Of course, since when does THAT matter, right?

I thought that homo_bebop tool was banned?

I was going to applaud WWE for keeping JBL and Finlay apart until Wrestlemania.
Scratch that.

I was going to applaud the idea of Batista and Umaga beating the hell out of
each other tonight. Scratch that. It came across as very weak.

Allowing Big SHow to dominate and then walk out on Orton. OK, I'll give them a
thumbs up for that.

Also get a thumbs up for getting MVP onto RAW. HE should win the MITB match
though I still think it will be Kennedy.

Flair's promo was great. Michaels... not so good. Didn't Kennedy just use the,
"I'm gonna put the dog down" analogy? Hell, I think Kennedy did a
better job of it. A misstep for a legend there.

Wouldn't it be great to have HHH win the belt, have Kennedy smash him upside
the head with the briefcase and win the belt at the end of 'mania. Then have
HHH come out the next night on RAW and just destroy him.

I'd also love to see Edge demolish Undertaker. Beat him so soundly nobody would
even remember the streak.

Too bad for me I guess.

Posted By: RTF101 (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 12:29 AM

Whatever, negatives. It was a good sell for the ppv. Orton will end up
retaining the belt at Mania and HHH/Cena will feud without the title. They've
been building that since the Rumble.

I wouldn't be shocked if Flair beat Michaels at Mania and then fought Orton for
the title at Backlash where the Legend Killer kills Ric Flair.

Posted By: Patrick (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 12:32 AM

Flair REALLY turned up the heat during his segment. When HBK called him 'Old
Yeller,' ah damn! Flair did a great job of looking PISSED beyond belief!
Santino still rules. His celebration with Melina and Beth got a laugh out of
me!
Orton didn't lose anything by taking the loss tonight. It was an 8-man, no DQ
contest, Big Show turned on him- why not let Flair beat the WWE champ for his
(possible) last win in his career? Orton was great during that match, by the
way.

Total Bullshit what the E are doing to Orton, its like he's there so someone can
deflect the boos from Cena (and/or) HHH.

Pathetic really, at least Flair was ON tonight.

Big Show really needs to stop wearing that one shoulder singlet, it's a stupid
look for anyone but Andre... women started wearing that in some misdirected
fasion craze 5 years ago and no matter how great they looked, andre was
there... not a good fashion statement... change yer look, Big Show!!!
Umaga rules, Ric Flair to manage new 4 horsemen this year, and
CMPunnnZZzzzzz....
     ....wha? ...was talkin bout CMZZZZZzzzzzz.......

HHH has been so happy and hes had that smirk on his face for the last 2 weeks
cause he KNOWS he is winning at Mania. *sigh*

Actually, since it was a No DQ match, he could pretty much attack anyone he
wanted. They made it DQ so they could systematically leave Orton by himself
for Flair. Pretty basic. Be smarter.

Flair wins, Umaga wins, Finlay wins, Orton wins, Kane new ECW champ, Undertaker
wins but gets beat by MITB winner Kennedy...
    Damn, I'm good

--It was a no DQ match--

I had no problem with Flair going over Randy. Was his last Raw and we can say
he had the WWE champ tap out. It was after a beat down of 4 top superstars (not
all at the same time) and using Flair's signature famous hold. I don't see much
harm to Randy...Not as much HHH's and Cena's character has done to his.
I agree with Zack, Randy has done a good job as the heel champ and also I am
concerned that he may get lost in the shufle when cena or trips become champs.
It was a good raw overall, not the phenomenal go home show but Flair's nostagia
 made it up for me.

Orton was helped alot by Flair when he came in, he probabally wanted to Job to
him one last time bitchass.

I know it has become pretty cliché to criticise Jim Ross' commentary
lately, but could he have sounded less surprised/enthusiastic when Michaels
laid out Flair?

Posted By: Tom (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 01:55 AM

It was a No Disqualification match. If it wasn't, by your logic, the face team
would have been DQed when Finlay interfered.

Is Show a heel or a face, god damn it?

Posted By: Rick Landis (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 01:57 AM

I was really hoping Flair was gonna knock Shawn Michaels' lazy eye straight when
he slapped him. I seriously could never see a closeup of HBK again and be
perfectly happy.

I have no problem with Raw tonight, it's a build, my only problem is that
there's been so much buzz early on that anything they do now can't equal the
Big Show/Mayweather press from No Way Out. Props for trying.

Posted By: beezy (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 02:09 AM

Orton wasn't hurt by tapping to Flair; he just took a choke slam from Show. It
was a good (potential) send off for Flair. I'm still not sold that he's
necessarily going to lose the match; but he IS retiring.

Minor highlight; Umaga 'speaking', followed by Orton trying to keep a straight
face at Cena's translation. I don't blame Randy for that one, though I blame
him for lots else.

I'm pissed that they picked Trashley to replace Candice instead of the much
hotter, more over and obviously better choice, Mickie James. Ridiculous.

Must've missed when the main was announced as No DQ. Fair play to the queen on
that one, then.

That was actually my only real complaint about Raw tonight, as I liked the show
quite a bit except for what I thought at the time was an inconsistency.

Posted By: Hunter (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 02:34 AM

Umaga's speech reminded me of John Belushi's samuari (fill-in-the-blank)
character on the old SNL shows. Very sad the day has come that we bitch about
HHH probably winning at WM while deep down hoping he DOES win because anything
besides a Cena victory followed by him saying "the champ is here" at
the beginning of RAW the next night would be preferable and more shocking

Kaiza - I'm afraid it was wishful thinking on our part. hobo_bebop is alive and
well, still refusing to enjoy anything he sees regardless of its quality. I
pity him, since this show was far from lousy. The moderators aren't doing shit
to counter trolls.

As for the Orton defeat, I understand the annoyance in him taking the fall when
JBL was there, but it's obviously a storyline tool. It's a way of suggesting
that Orton's empire is crumbling around him. Well, I think that's what they're
trying to accomplish, anyway. It was still fun to see Big Show turn on him.

Posted By: T.G. Corke (Registered)  on March 25, 2008 at 06:37 AM

I personally hope Orton wins at Wrestlemania. His performance prior to and since
becoming champ has been stellar; he's really solidified himself, much like Edge
a few years ago, as a main-event player, and top heel. I'm sure I'm not the
only one that loves to hate his arrogance.

@Greg: You think Undertaker will beat Edge then lose the title - and his streak
- to Kennedy? I don't think so. Nothing WWE has done with Kennedy has shown they
have faith in him. I was personally hoping for a Hardy win and then capitalising
on his opportunity that night by beating Orton (or HHH who I don't think would
lose much by dropping the title straight away) but I think plans will have been
changed and eithter MVP or Punk will win MITB, only the latter likely to cash in
on the night.

I don't particularly feel too excited by the Wrestlemania card; the
Mayweather-Big Show match has been a disaster so far, and that's before we even
realise what the match is going to entail. I couldn't think of a worse Battle
Royale than one that will see Kane win and go on to become a champ again. The
almost certain win for Undertaker (and thus, the main-event face win for the
night, allowing Randy to keep his title) annoys me, showing once again WWE
couldn't care less about the future. Umaga - Batista sounds awful, regardless
of how much they've apparently improved recently. JBL-Finlay likewise, is a
terrible pay-off to the Vince story. The Bunnymania match will only be
worthwhile for Santino and some cheap boobage. The only match, other than the
RAW main-event, I'm looking forward to is Shawn Michaels-Ric Flair; almost
solely so that Flair and his boobage can be removed from television for at
least a few months.

What a crappy show that was.

Anyone else hoping for some Horsemen involvement at WM to get Flair a win?
(Arn, Malenko, Windham, and Tully maybe?) I know if that happened it would just
lead to HHH beating Flair on Raw. I would rather Flair win with Horsemen help
and then retire on his own to stick it to Vince. Woooooo

Anybody notice that there was NO VINCE ALL NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! It's about freakin' time, and
only a week before Wrestlemania, weird!

Um, it's a Bunnymania Match. Mickie hasn't done Playboy, Ashley has. It makes
sense for Ashley to be tagging with Maria.

The video they showed last night was great but should have been run sooner,
HBK/Flair promo was fucking brilliant. As a wrestling fan of 20+ years I'll
have a lump in me throat and a tear in me eye when it's all over this sunday.

I'm pissed that they picked Trashley to replace Candice instead of the much
hotter, more over and obviously better choice, Mickie James. Ridiculous

iTS a playboy match one side of PLAYBOY (the faces) vs people who do not like
them(the heels) there for Mickie can not be in it and stop complaing for crist
sakes

I agree 100% with DS. Mickie would have been a much better choice to replace
Ashley, especially since she's had problems with both Melina and Beth in th
past. There is no reason at all to believe the faces should beat those two
heels in that Bunnymania match now.

I liked RAW this week though, Flair had an excellent last show. I think it
would have been better to keep Finlay out of the main event, have Orton run off
in a brawl with HHH and Cena, and then have Flair make JBL tap out.

ashley was sporting her new diaper last night

WOW just WOW, once again Umaga comes off looking like a badass at first with his
good short promo and then John Cena has to fuck it up and make him look like a
total joke.

"Nothing WWE has done with Kennedy has shown they
have faith in him"

That's right actually.
He had main event feud with taker and batista, won the mitb last year, had a
clean win over micheals on RAW, made his finisher on cena to end a show,
dominated him for 10 minutes the week after. He now has a part in an upcoming
wwe production...
I think they just drop the ball with him.. -_-'

Since WWE TV is so wonderful now that the blue hair, rag doll, meth head troll
is off TV, let's see what we can do about getting Orton banished to TNA or ROH
so no one ever has to see him "wrestle" again.

Ric laid down for Orton so many times, its only fitting.

I'm just glad we don't have to put up with that blue-haired, meth-head rag doll
having his seizures on TV any more. Now, if we can only get Orton banished to
TNA or ROH so we never have to watch him anymore, WWE would be perfect, except
for everything else that is wrong with it.

I liked the little, most of the time un-notoiced things (can you say
"Hidden Highlights) that went on in the main event. I liked how Big Show
stayed in the ring, while the other 3 "heels" stayed on the outside
during the intros of the "faces", showing he is not scared of anyone.
Also liked how HBK did not open the ropes for Flair when he entered the ring,
which he usually always does out of respect.

Also had a "mark out" moment for the old NWA title.

why the hell cant they just book things in a serious way instead of that garbage
first segment they had?? way too much attempted comedy. horrible horrible
horrible. Now, lets all bow our heads and ask God to send a hitman to earth to
kill Triple H and his wife.

I was really hoping that they would hold off announcing a replacement for
Candice until WM - and then, as a one-time comeback - TRISH STRATUS. Seriously
- who wouldn't have marked out a little for that.

The 1981 NWA title in HD looks a lot like the ACW (Apartment Championship
Wrestling) championship belt my friend Charles and I created out of an old
"ab-energizer" belt thing and some metal that was cut and painted and
bolted to the ab-energizer.

I think he beat Orton becuase the outcome to Flairs own match is so telegraphed.
By beating Orton it shows that he can still beat the champ, and adds a little
doubt as to whether he will bea HBK. For the amrks anyway.

Why isn't the WWE hyping up the fact that Edge has never lost a WM match. THe
MIB last year technically was a loss, but he was taken out on a stretcher. I
don't think Edge is the one who should beat Taker, I think it should be HBK. If
the plan is for Taker to win the belt again, I don't think its a good idea. He
got injured last time and the title will be defended every 30 days because he
is so old.

Fun show! Now, let's get the 24 man tag match to do the same.

"What with the crappy build up, it sure was hard to tell that WrestleMania
was 6
days away."

well except for the ads on every broadcast, the repeated shills, the little
thing that tells us the days till WM24, oh and the fact that they are
mentioning it on TV and have several storylines leading up to.

why would they make the champ, Orton tap out on the last raw before WM?

Mileena Lopez Q: I was watching a special on the Discovery channel about these
wrestlers from the UPW, some of whom got contracts from the WWF. One wrestler
in particular, "Prototype", a very muscular white male with blonde,
spiked hair on top of his head was featured in the program for having been
offered a contract. I immediately loved his wrestling character and could tell
that he was a natural for the business. He is the next "Rock" or
better. Plus, he is hot! Will you tell me when and if he will be featured on
the WWF because he is a bad wrestler and I can not wait to see him in the ring!

A; John Sena is The Prototype. Considered a natural athlete he was a good
baseball player and became a varsity football player at Springfield College
near his hometown of Newberry, Connecticut. Sena moved into more serious
bodybuilding and graduated from college last year. He moved to the West Coast
where he was spotted and recruited for UPW's Ultimate University. In his first
year in the sport Sena earned the UPW Championship and a WWF developmental
deal. As for when he will appear, that is anyone's guess and with ECW talent
being signed into the WWF it may be a wait for a man considered to be a future
superstar. You can follow him at UPW.com

i just found that on an old colunm...
how right was that person

Watching that show made me realise that for Wrestlemania...THEY NEED A MAIN
EVENT REAL BAD, BROTHER!!!!

Posted By: Hulk Hogan (Guest)  on March 27, 2008 at 12:46 AM

Yeah, we need a main event that consists of 15 minute nonstop posing. (:
