Wow, the opener? Please give them some time. Kaz and Joe are wearing black armbands in memory of Kevin Sinex, I believe everyone will be for the show. Lock up, they trade side headlocks and Kaz fights out with some forearm shots. To the corner, he avoids Joe sidestepping him on the cross body try and sweeps the leg, counters and they stand off. Nash is watching on backstage, Kaz tries a sunset flip, leg drop by Joe. Knee drop and a cover for 2. Enziguri by Joe, jabs now and off the ropes with a lariat. Joe sends Kaz to the apron, Kaz slingshots in, Joe catches him and blocks the DDT, sits Kaz up top, chops, rights, MUSCLE BUSTA~! 1…2…3.
Winner: Samoa Joe @ 6:55 via pin
-Booker T is now out, and after a commercial Booker congratulates Joe for beating Kaz, WHOOPTY DOO, you won a trip to Universal! These people don't give a damn about Joe, and he wants to know what they think about Joe screwing him at Slammiversary. He then calls Joe a punk ass paper champion. If it wasn't for Nash, he would have been the champion. Booker demands an explanation. But then tells Joe to shut up because he doesn't want to hear a lame excuse. Booker wants to know if Joe can look at himself in the mirror and say he beat Booker T. Did he beat a real man? Booker is heading to the back, to his locker room, and the door will be open. There is no door on his locker room. He will be waiting, and he wants Joe to show him what kind of champion he really is. Can you dig?
-TO THE BACK as Lauren is with Kurt Angle. She says Karen played a part in AJ beating him and that people think Kurt got what was coming to him. He calls her stupid, asks how many matches she had and such. Kurt says Spike thinks that hot chicks equal ratings. He got a letter from Spike, and Karen has signed a contract with Spike as a talent, and since there is no violence on women on TV, he can get fires for touching her. SO HE PUT A HIT OUT ON HER! There are a locker room full of women that don't think she belongs and someone will come after her, and she won't know when and where. By the end of the night, she'll be o her back, while AJ lies right beside her, comatose. Karen will be embarrassed like he has been, tonight, will be her last night in TNA. It's real.
-JB is with Davari, the captain of Team International. He speaks gibberish, they run subtitles, and he is here with his team to destroy all of the other teams. Rock on. Saeed is here and says Kong is NOT through punishing the people and next week, she goes back to work taking out one American at a time. Kong will not be kind or gentle anymore, blood will be shed on innocent victims.
WORLD X-CUP PREVIEW MATCH: The Motor City Machineguns (Sabin and Shelley) vs. Naruko Doi & Masato Yoshino
Alex and Doi in, counters to begin and they stand off. Sabin and Yoshino now in, super speed counters off the ropes, dropkick by Yoshino and Sabin is down. Leg lariat by Sabin, tag to Alex and then do some double teams, atomic drop, dropkick and a cover for 2. Chops by Alex, off the ropes and Yoshino counters into a swank octopus hold! Off the ropes, back elbow and then off the ropes and a drop toehold and dropkick combo. Yoshino in, off the ropes and a spinebuster into a modified abdominal stretch. Doi in, to the corner and they double team attack Alex, set him in the ropes and a senton by Yoshino gets 2! Yoshino and Doi celebrate, they work over Alex, a whip and Alex tosses Doi, stun gun to Yoshino and tags Sabin! Rights for all, off the ropes and an atomic drop to Doi. One for Doi and he and Yoshino collide. Sidesteps Doi and he dropkicks Yoshino. Doi is tossed, kicks by Sabin, springboard clotheslines to Yoshino and Doi breaks that up. Brainbuster by Doi, Yoshino in and a boot to Sabin and a crazy tarantula, dropkick by Yoshino. Alex in and all four battle. Sabin in the tree of woe, Doi with a running senton. Missile dropkick by Yoshino gets 2! Doi to the floor, Yoshino in and Sabin and Alex get the double team Yoshino. Double superkicks to Yoshino as Doi was sent to the floor and that is all!
That was insanely fast, and I will admit I likely mixed up Doi and Yoshino at points.
Winners: The Motor City Machineguns @ 6:30 via pin
-TO THE BACK as JB is with Karen Angle. He says good job getting the contract, and they discuss Kurt and the hit he put out on her. She says Kurt will call this off for the sakes of their kids. JB goes to defuse the situation, but as he does, The Beautiful People are here and are pissed that she will be making double what they are making. They call her a bitch and say they never liked her. There is a pecking order, and it is the Beautiful People and then everyone else. They try to brownbag her, and AJ is here to save her. AJ says they don't want any trouble and to run to Kurt, and tell him anyone that wants to mess with Karen has to go through him first. Love says they are above this high school musical drama. But if AJ wants to have a real woman, he knows where to find them.
~NASH AND JOE DRAMA~
Lauren is with Nash in the back. He says that controversy and money breath the same air. They discuss Booker and Joe, and Nash says Booker has been doing this a long time. Booker touched him and that invited him into the match. Nash says she watched the match and she can decide if what Booker said was true.
Joe is out in the arena now and says since Nash is so opinionated that Nash can say what he has to say to Joe's face. Nash says they can do this in the back, but Joe says he can say anything he wants in front of the fans and to the world. Shave the sugar off of your lips and say what you got to say big man! Nash says he might not want to hear what he has to say, and maybe the only reason Joe has the strap is because the big man took care of business. A simple thank you may be in order. Joe says Nash should thank him for allowing him to ride his coattails every week. Nash reminds him that he is in fact KEVIN NASH. Nash says that Joe can't beat Booker T, and it is because it is mental and he is already in his head. You can't beat Booker. Joe says Nash can stick that up his ass, and leaves.
-JB searched for Kurt Angle and finds him, meeting with Steiner and Rhaka Khan. He gets dismissed.

Roode tries the payoff, countered and a gourd buster. LAX slammed together, Storm gets a belt and puts it on his boot. Sky kicks the leg out from under her, and then applies the world's worst figure four. Kim battles for the ropes, and then turns the hold. Sky then gets the ropes for the break. Back elbow by Kim, a clothesline and another. Kim with chops, a whip, reversal and a boot by Kim as Sky charged in. Neck snap off the ropes by Kim gets 2. Kim up top, and MISSES a missile dropkick! Booker says that Joe is making it too easy for him, he doesn't like him but he respects him. The road to Victory is through Houston, he has a lot of HOMIES there, and he will not disappoint them. Joe then says it does smell like piss in there, tosses him a set of keys and says Booker can use his locker room, because he doesn't need it.

Forearms by AJ, but Angle pulls AJ to the floor and now 3D and Tomko beat him down. Rhino, Cage and Morgan over, the lumberjacks brawl and then Rhino takes a reverse 3D on the floor as we head to commercial @ 4:30.
Back from commercial @ 7:40 as Angle gets a suplex for 2. Rhino has been taken out as we saw before the commercial, AJ fights back and gets a clothesline to Angle. Another, corner clothesline! Angle and crew are beating AJ and his friends down but here comes Abyss! Abyss starts to clean house on the bad guys, Tomko attacks from behind and goes for a tree slam, but Abyss CHOKESLAMS Tomko through the table!
Everyone else brawls up the ramp, leaving AJ and Angle in the ring. AJ slams Angle into the table after a PELE, and now sets the table and lays Angle on it. AJ FLIES but Angle moves out of the way and AJ crashes through the table. Ankle lock by Angle now, Karen runs out to try and make him stop, and dares Kurt to hit her. Uh oh…Awesome Kong makes her way to the ring! She grabs Karen and tosses her down to the mat. Kurt gives a thumbs down and Kong just punches Karen and drops her. He then lays AJ beside her, making his earlier promise come true.
-End scene…
Remember to send your thoughts on the show for the 4R's!
That first hour was some good television. I didn't watch the second because of Fear Itself, but Joe vs Kaz and MCMG vs Doi/Yoshino were excellent. Anyone who says otherwise is hating TNA just to be hating TNA.

didn't like that booker came right out after kaz's defeat, didn't like the tag title matches, and i didn't agree with the angle victory so quick after the ppv. One thing i did like was that the show was based on wrestling including one of the best regular tag matches i've seen in a LONG time in Naruko Doi & Masato Yoshino against the MG's. The overall wrestling part of tonight's show was good
Posted By: cj (Guest) on June 12, 2008 at 11:14 PM
that was a throughly enjoyable show. the mcmg vs doi and yoshino was great. joe vs kaz was good and joe cut 2 promos without screaming like a retard. aj vs angle was ok for a build up match(loved the ppv match and cant wait for a rematch on ppv) and kong continues to be a beast. also glad to see something new in the tag ranks as storm and roode work well together.

this show SUCKED so boring.

great wrestling all around
this is how real wrestling is produced.
BTW;
no money giveaways needed.

SpeedMuscle on tv is a good thing

My first Impact in a few months and I was highly entertained and not left scratching my head due to utter ridiculousness.
Posted By: Chris (Guest) on June 12, 2008 at 11:30 PM
It read like a good show, and it indeed was a good show.
The really need to make a secondary title outside of the X-title.
A TV title would do the company wonders.
And as much as Velvet Sky sux in the rng, she is awesome on the mic.
Tonight's show= JAMAICAN ME CRAZY!
Posted By: The Fuj (Registered) on June 12, 2008 at 11:30 PM
That was a great show!
the opening match was amazing!
Second Match had to be one of the best TV matches in years!
the backstage stuff was actually bearable and advanced things.
Angle's promo actually scared me!
The tag title matches were fun.
Other than the Beatdown, the knockouts brawling before the match I have nothing to complian about.
and considering How AJ totally owned Kurt till the end of the match and a little bit of the post match brawl, I think it was a great rubber match, Now they can settle it at a PPV, instead of letting a hot fued with awesome matches just disappear.
BTW, Selinas' new photoshoot, not so sexy. she's a hot enough woman, but the concept of the shoot didn't work out.
Posted By: Davis (Guest) on June 12, 2008 at 11:32 PM
I hope this gets a good rating so TNA sees that THIS is what people want. Good wrestling combined with good angles. No stupid comedy. Tell the story in the ring. And stuff like MCMG vs Team Japan is what TNA should strive for.
I would have liked to have seen the Dutt/Creed and Kozlov/Curry Man matches go longer, but this show was awesome.
Posted By: Andrew (Guest) on June 12, 2008 at 11:33 PM
Wow, so this is what it's like to watch a wrestling show that actually features WRESTLING!
Great start with the X Cup and with the AJ/ Angle feud.
Posted By: Orlando (Guest) on June 12, 2008 at 11:33 PM
Did Joe wear the Bro or the Mansieere this week?
EPIC MAN BOOBS!
Posted By: Kramer (Guest) on June 12, 2008 at 11:34 PM
HHHfan, how do you like the fact your man is bringing down ratings?
Roode/Storm would be a great tag team and could provide a much needed boost to the tag division.
Posted By: Chikara (Guest) on June 12, 2008 at 11:36 PM
Two issues. with the show although I will admit they are improving. The World X-Cup will be a good idea if they allow to get some of the wrestlers from out of the country over. Remember how well Great Muta worked in WCW.
My two issues are, first of all it is a huge step back for Roode and Storm to go back to the tag division. People can say they will be a good team, but the whole point of breaking them apart from their original teams (Team Canada and AMW repectively) was to get them over as singles stars.
Then the giving away a Angle/Styles rematch for free. First of all Kurt shouldn't be wrestling, period. TNA should not let someone put themselves at risk like that. His neck is so f'd up he can't even have it fused like he should have done in the first place. TNA needs to have the balls to call it a day for Kurt because he will not do it himself. If you are going to have him wrestle though why do it on free TV. AJ is getting back over after being treated like a joke. Make people PAY for the rematch.
Posted By: Willie D (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 12:10 AM
So much for the Consequences Creed hype and subsequent push for a major player in the X Division !!
Fuck you TNA !!
Than people wonder why Ron Killings and Monty Brown got pissed and left !!!!
Posted By: WTF (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 12:16 AM
Solid show with great matches and good building of the feuds.
My only problem with TNA right now is that Christian Cage should have more of the spotlight, he needs to have his own feuds and not be used in AJ/Angle.
Posted By: BFG08 (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 12:29 AM
Frank Trigg was hard to understand on commentating, but it was a breath of FRESH air to have some heel announcing to offset those two bozos in headsets. Either they sweetened the crowd noise, or the Impact Zone was especially hot. Overall great show. Why oh why does TNA not push James Storm?? Push the homegrown talent hard... stop cutting off the damn ring intros... hire a quality announce team... work on "atmosphere".. and go friggin live... so much potential being wasted
Posted By: Gabriel (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 12:44 AM
Ca-mericas Most Wanted!
It sounds like an entertaining show in general (hey no BG James or Kip Sopp that's a step in the right direction)
Posted By: MPJ (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 12:52 AM
it was a good show for about 35 minutes or so, after that not so much.
it turns out maybe nash was right about sonjay being on the gas.
Posted By: dudelazers (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 01:36 AM
By far the best IMPACT in ages. No silly million dollar stunts just great wrestling, engaging storylines and a hotter than usual crowd...
Posted By: Guest#3240 (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 01:50 AM
That was honestly the best WRESTLING show on TV in a long, long time. I've haven't been totally enjoying Impact lately so this was a HUGE step up. HUGE. Great show.
Posted By: psych (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 03:25 AM
Why is Kurt wrestling? Doesn't he have some cracked vertebrae or something? That guy is going to kill himself.
Posted By: Taylor (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 05:27 AM
I found Impact on by accident, and when I do watch it it is usually exclusively the Saturday replays... but what I saw of the show tonight was a lot of fun.
Sonjay Dutt vs. Consequences Creed was a really cool (fun) match.
And Joe/Nash and Joe/Booker were the most old school (logical) promos I've seen outside of Ric Flair in years.
Why are people always ripping on Impact?
Posted By: Guest#4200 (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 05:30 AM
Did anyone else notice how thin Kurt is getting.
Maybe it is because Ive been watching a bunch of Summer Slam dvds he was involved with latly, but wow. It looks like his arms are starting to atrophy like Paul Orndorff!
Posted By: A.G. Awesome (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 06:30 AM
perfect wrestling show. everyone who thinks otherwise can suck a dick. not mine, cause youre not worthy.
ps: Kong should have powerbombed horseface trough the mat, but whatever.
Posted By: tully (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 07:04 AM
Usually i'm the first to jump all over TNA, but this was a good show.
Posted By: Brett (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 07:13 AM
Why are they continuing to let Kurt wrestle after the extensive problems he has had with his neck.
TNA is screwed if an Olympic gold medal champion gets hurt on their show. No wonder WWE tried to get him to rest up and get better.
TNA would be smart to push AJ and Kaz as teh future faces of the company. Stop putting WWE-rejects (Booker, Cage, Angle, Nash, .etc) into the mix and start reward your own people (Lethal, Dutt, Kaz, AJ, Joe, etc.)
If Vince took over TNA he would make every attempt to make his product look superior by putting his own guys over the TNA guys. What does TNA do, they put WWE rejects over their own people. Totally backwards and makes TNA look inferior to WWE.

Consequences Creed is horrible.
They needed someone to squash to salvage that ABYSMAL wedding angle.
It was either Creed or Elix Skipper.
Creed=NEGATIVE BAD~~!
Posted By: The Fuj (Registered) on June 13, 2008 at 09:04 AM
@A.G. Awesome
After the Benoit tragedy, Kurt swore off of steroids period, so he is shirnking. Getting back to his original pre 98 weight.
Look at the ECW appearnace he made and now, they look shockingly the same (minus the hair). That was a downside of Kurt's steroid abuse, thinning hair.
Kurt Angle's hair= NEGATIVE BAD~~!
Posted By: The Fuj (Registered) on June 13, 2008 at 09:11 AM
definitely a good show for once i was entertained basically throughout the whole show but there is one thing i dont understand
why do the girls go crazy over not wanting a paper bag over their face thats just stupid if there was poison inside but its like this
beautiful people: Shut up or we will put this bag on your face
other wrestler: oh no not a bag please anything but a bag that bag is going to do a lot of damage to a girl who does a lot of training and can take a beating
but ya overall great show hopefully they can keep this up
Posted By: Lil P (Registered) on June 13, 2008 at 09:22 AM
Holy crap, that was an amazing show, I did a spit take when Kong's music hit at the end. Anyone who trashes this week's show officially eats teh cock.

Poor Christopher Dan...oops I mean "Curry Man", guy just can't catch a break. Their booking him like he's in the dog house. When was the last time he won a match?
Posted By: Mac (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 09:44 AM
I haven't watched Impact in a while, but I might have to watch it this weekend (they show it on saturdays in the UK), sounds good!

Got home from the bar last night where I inadvertently got stuck running the P.A. However, I DVR'd TNA and watched Joe v. Kaz when I got home.
It was too late for me to stay up through the rest of the show, but what a hell of a match to start off with. On Any other wrestling show, this ould have been a good main event.
Congrats to TNA for putting something on first that grabbed people's interest. Compare with what WWE was doing... Let's watch Vince dial the phone for 20 minutes before any in-ring action takes place.
Posted By: The Phenomonal RJ Styles (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 10:34 AM
The people who rip on TNA are jealous WWE fans who can't stand watching a promotion that actually produces wrestling and builds up all of their title holders to be important. The WWE fanboys can't stand the fact that there is a wrestling program that doesn't rely on giveaways and name brand recognition to justify poor building of the same old storylines.
I agree with the Fuj, I think TNA is afraid to create another title because if a lot of these guys leave then they won't have enough depth to justify creating another championship. Just look at the WWE.
Posted By: Orlando (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 10:46 AM
I might be wrong, but was that 40 minutes of wrestling? I probably made a miscalculation somewhere, though...

tna needs frank trigg on the headset fulltime it was refrshing to hear an heel commentator

re: to WTF!
Consequences Creed needs to have something else going for him besides the fact that he has an afro and can do a James Brown split in the middle of his matches. He's still wet behind the ears. Give it some time. At this point I actually wouldn't mind him being the sympathetic "rookie" character who has to "pay his dues." the only thing is, he'd need a mentor.
Posted By: bighustle (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 11:20 AM
Im no TV writer or anything, just a fan that could care LESS if someone's moveset is like an obscure Japanese worker from the 80's or if someone stole one of Vince's gimmicks. Wrestling could be better, but since it became sports entertainment then thats all im expecting...ENTERTAINMENT. AJ/Karen/Kurt means FAR less to me than AJ/Kurt in the ring....and not for nothing....I LIKED the match.
Posted By: CM Wolf (Guest) on June 13, 2008 at 11:25 AM
"Why are people always ripping on Impact?"
Guest #4200 the answer is because there's been a lot of unnecessary failed comedy attempts that are the antithesis of what TNA has claimed to be - a wrestling alternative.
The last couple shows have been pretty good, though. Here's hoping we keep the focused, intense Angle.

This show epitomizes why i can't get into TNA. You guys all loved that tag match? It was way over-choreographed and yet came off sloppy. Same with Joe vs. Kaz. I want to like all of these guys but the wrestling just looks brutally fake.

This is not ripping on TNA as much as it is sports entertainment in general.
Yay, more WWE guys at the top of the card in TNA.
Joe Vs Booker will not set the world on fire.
Man, indy feds are the only thing keeping my interest going.

So much for the Consequences Creed hype and subsequent push for a
major player in the X Division !!
Fuck you TNA !!
Than people wonder why Ron Killings and Monty Brown got pissed and
left !!!!

I'm assuming by that comment you are trying to say TNA is racist. Well the last time i checked Jay Lethal and Booker T get a good chunk of Impact time almost every week. Also we have latino tag team champs not to mention Creed was beat by an Indian-American. That being said....
Fuck you WTF!
Monty and K-Kwik are no longer in TNA because they fucking sucked. Hell Monty could'nt even stick around in ECW and K-Kwik can't seem to make his WWE re-debut period. Creed is paying his damn dues ass. I seem to recall Jay Lethal jobbing his ass off constantly early in his TNA career. However look at him now. Creed will get his push.
Next time think before you speak son.

Though I'm watching WWE for three years, and TNA only from the beginning of this year, the match between the japanese and MCMG was probably the best match I've seen in that time. It just showed what humans are capable to do in the ring.

also something that i think is pretty weird is how come curry man is on team tna when they say he is from japan, when he came out i thought they were gonna make him on team japan

MCMGs vs Dragon Gate was sick, if they took out the stalling and added ten minutes to give them some time to tell a story, it would be EPIC.

ChrisHo, I doubt they could go physically for additional 10 minutes at that pace.

I don't understand what's the deal with Creed. He is very, very young wrestler, and don't have much experience. Who promise big push to him? And how? TNA by video packages? Since that wrestler who have video packages before debut = next Champion?

The show was a snoozer. Seriously, a bunch of nobodies flopping around, has beens, horrific skits and promos, and the lamest audience in the world. Seriously, watch the damn show and relax with your corny ass chants.

That was pretty standard for a Dragon Gate-style match. Perfect length for a preview of what's to come.

Guest#4562, wrestling IS fake. If those matches turned you off to TNA then I don't know what to tell you, go watch Vince try to use a phone for 20 minutes instead.
This was the best wrestling show on free TV so far in 2008. This is what every episode of Impact should be like. I loved it. Nothing is perfect, but I found it very hard to nitpick this particular episode of Impact.
What are the odds that this week's Raw is even half as good?

MCMG vs. Muscle Outlawz was the best TV match I've seen since Cena/Michaels. This X Cup thing is really going to be something awesome. I haven't watched iMPACT in ages and this will defiantly get me to start; I haven't gotten a TNA PPV since 06 and this will defiantly get me to order the PPV. Now THAT is how you increase ratings.
