WWE RAW: 10.27.08
*In Memory of Special Delivery Jones*
-We get a video package from Cyber Sunday.
-Cole and the King welcome us to the show.
~Chris Jericho is NOT happy~
Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring, no music and gets announced as the FORMER Champion. He is OFFENDED by this and says Cyber Sunday was the biggest screw job in WWE history and it is all Mike Adamle's fault, as well as ours. We picked a biased referee, he changed the rules, bullied him and worst of all he didn't count when he had the match won. If he was Batista he would be embarrassed to call himself the champion because Batista didn't beat him, an army beat him. Batista, Michaels, Adamle, Austin and all of us. He is dying to get his hands on HBK and Batista tonight. But that isn't good enough, and he needs more. He has a rematch clause and he will use it next week and then regain his title.
Mike Adamle now makes his way out and says to hang on a second. He then says that in order to ensure that there is no outside interference, he has decided to make it a steel cage match. Jericho doesn't seem that happy, and then walks off after bumping into Adamle.
Randy Orton now makes his way to the ring. Orton asks if Adamle is happy with himself. He got sent out here to be an emergency referee, and look what happened. He took a stunner. That Mike is inexcusable. He isn't fully recovered and couldn't defend himself. Orton will make sure that Adamle doesn't get away with it. He then says to Shane and Steph, who he knows are watching, to come to Raw next week and fire Mike Adamle. If they don't, he will walk, he is out of here. He will quit the WWE, and they need him more than he needs them. Either Adamle goes or he goes. He then threatens Adamle and says he will do nothing because he is spineless and a failure. Failed as an interviewer, announcer and now as a GM. He also says he failed as a husband and father likely. Adamle slaps Orton! Orton then leaves and is not happy.
-We see video of the beat down on Punk from Unforgiven.

Punk tags in Kofi and he is on fire with clotheslines to Cody. To the apron and he takes out DiBiase, up top and as Cody distracts the ref DiBiase pulls Kofi off of the top. Cody slams him to the barricade, rolls him back in and covers for 2. Cody then lays the boots to Kofi, tags in DiBiase and he beats down Kofi with rights. The ref pulls DiBiase off of Kofi, but he then chokes him out. Cody with a kick to the head as the ref pulls DiBiase off of Kofi, and then DiBiase covers for 2. Tag back to Cody, rights to the gut of Kofi but Kofi fires back with rights of his own. Cody stops the tag with the drop toehold, tags in DiBiase and they maintain control. DiBiase chokes Kofi out once again, Kofi back with kicks and then gets a small package for 2. Clothesline by DiBiase levels Kofi. Cody back in, they double-team Kofi and then a cover for 2 by Cody. Kofi battles back once again, but Cody slams him down. Kofi manages a leg scissors and as DiBiase gets tagged in Punk is as well! Punk cleans house, tosses Cody and then takes out DiBiase with the slap, punk and kick combo. Corner knee of doom! Manu is down after Punk hits him. Kofi wipes out Cody and gets the RANA to the floor, GTS on DiBiase and Punk gets the pin!

He says Honky should be scared, because in one week and a year, he will be the greatest IC Champion of ALL THE TIMES! He mocks the special commentators, and says for all the pregnant ladies to look at them and says that is what happens when you do drugs when pregnant. He then says Beth is hot. Beth's music then hits, and we get HAAS PHOENIX~! He does full entrance with a fake title.

Santino tosses HAAS PHOENIX to the floor and then slaps Honky. Goldust stops him from escaping, and HONKY GUITAR SHOT to Santino!

~Batista Speaks~
Michael Cole announces Batista, who then comes to the ring. Cole offers some congrats and asks how it feels to be champion again. Batista can't describe it, and then says he feels good. It's been a slow, long journey to the top but the WWE Universe was there with him the whole way. He says the title is back where it belongs and it won't go anywhere for a long time. They discuss the match next week vs. Jericho in the steel cage. Cole asks if he is concerned and Batista says no, he is happy with it. That's his home, his playground, and his comfort zone. Jericho has nowhere to run of hide, no more excuses, and he will remain the champion.
-Kelly, Candice and Mickie walk.
Kelly Kelly, Candice Michelle and Mickie James vs. Jillian Hall, Layla and Katie Lea
Candice and Hall to begin. Some counters and Candice with the Hennig neck flip and a cover for 2. Candice with the float over in the corner, slams down Hall and tags in Mickie. The other ladies brawl on the floor, Kelly gets the "K2" and then pins Katie.
Winners: Kelly Kelly, Candice Michelle and Mickie James @ 3:00 via pin
-JBL is backstage and says he is all about business. HBK cost him a business deal last night, he and Jericho had a deal. He could have had a title shot and that is worth a lot of money. HBK ruined that and cost him a lot of money. Last night HBK got a taste, but tonight he pays. Nobody crosses JBL.

Rey and Bourne work over Kane, then they "KINDA" get the hi/low. Mark Henry is out now and he evens the odds. -This leads to a John Cena video package.
~MIZ AND MORRISON~
Miz and Morrison come out and say some feel that they crossed the line last week when they made fun of DX. They understand that being talented and creative can intimidate people. Don't hate them for it. If we don't get it, it is our problem. They have evolved and are better than all of us. Next week, the greatest tag team of the 21st Century takes on DX. Join them on ECW tomorrow night for a special edition of the Dirt Sheet, where they examine the rise and soon to be fall, of the prehistoric pair, known as DX. After the dust has settled and after they beat DX, the enlightened few can join them as they say, BE JEALOUS!
-Batista plays hopscotch backstage.
-We get a replay of the Adamle/Orton confrontation from earlier this evening.

We'll head to a commercial @ 3:00.

This was a good show tonight. Much better then last week. Rey and bourne was good shit.

So is Goldust Back or is it just a temporary thing? I want him back, but not in the back

did RVD sign tonight?
Posted By: vanterminator (Guest) on October 27, 2008 at 11:12 PM
Do you think you could do star ratings?Since the guy who reviews RAW hasn't been doing it.Overall pretty decent show tag match was good and Rey/Bourne was good.
Posted By: this guy (Guest) on October 27, 2008 at 11:16 PM
Way to completely forget to sell the leg injury during the final parts of the match, Batista. I'm usually optimistic about a lot of things, but that was just plain distracting.
Posted By: MasterShake (Guest) on October 27, 2008 at 11:16 PM
I must say this show may have restored some confidence for me in Raw after the past bleah shows they've had the past couple of weeks. Punk and Kofi as tag champs is sweet and they should call themselves The Jamaican Me Crazy Straight Edges and Rey vs Bourne was excellent. If only it was Rey back in 97 then the two could have a four star match easily. Plus seeing HTM El Kabong that clown made me crack a smile.
Posted By: Michael (Guest) on October 27, 2008 at 11:18 PM
Was that main event a rerun? Hasn't that happened before? I like how Batista and HBK show such concern for each other. They should redo the ending of their feud blowoff match. Batista says "I'm sorry. I love you. In THAT way." Then they make out. Then all this butt-buddy stuff would make sense.

Aw, no RVD, for the 252nd week in a row
Posted By: William (Guest) on October 27, 2008 at 11:19 PM
I didn't re-sign tonight, sorry my loyal wwe fans
Posted By: RVD (Guest) on October 27, 2008 at 11:21 PM
Not too bad, the Main event was lackluster but decent.
Still Can't beleive they put Mysterio over Bourne, I mean nothing can hurt Mysterio's marketablity at this point, but Bourne Jobbing two nights in a row could seriously stall him.

RAW was pretty damm good tonight imo.Lots of good and decent matches with good segments from Orton/Adamle,JBL/HBK and Santino/HTM.Thumbs up to WWE.
*Waits for someone to come in and say horrible show...Batista sucks*

I'm BEGGING for Morrison and Miz to mention HBK's Hogan-style hairline. They're going to be BERRIED on SNME anyway so they might as well get their shots in while they can.

Charlie Haas had me in tears tonight. Seeing him as Beth Phoenix was by far his best impersonation yet!

looks like we have a survivor seriers match coming together - rey, bourne, kofi, punk vs. kane, henry, rhodes, dibiase.

RVD was on the 15th Anniversary 3-hour special, so surely he's resigned for next week's 800th episode, right?
Posted By: RVD fan (Guest) on October 28, 2008 at 12:00 AM
Man, when HBK banged his head on the light I couldn't help but chuckle at how bad that musta hurt. DOH!
Posted By: A.G. Awesome (Guest) on October 28, 2008 at 12:03 AM
Kofi and Punk feud with Priceless may just add that little bit to the eroding tag division.
Bourne and Misterio was terrific though I must agree with EVERYONE else that Bourne should've gone over.
Many props to Adamle, but the main event COME THE FUCK ON!!!
It's 2 on 1, two former champions (albeit one maybe needing the belt a little more just to prop up his sagging steroid-less tits) against one with a BAD LEG. Luckily, Batista has no idea how to sell, so the leg didn't matter. But how many times to I have to watch Michaels hobble out after taking a beating in the back? Just stay back there. He didn't even do anything in the damn match! It was friggen pointless. Might as well have had Batista run over both heels and saved me the headache.
I will reiterate my sentiments from last night:
I cannot wait for Batista to retire.
I can stand horrible writing, mediocre matches, bad character development...
But when they're all combined into one steroid fueled freak, that's where I draw the line.
*****************
Batista as champ makes me look forward to Cena's return. As much flack as that man gets, at least he gives a shit about the industry rather than some shaved ape who cares more about his image and banging divas and less about the product.

"Still Can't beleive they put Mysterio over Bourne, I mean nothing can hurt Mysterio's marketablity at this point, but Bourne Jobbing two nights in a row could seriously stall him."
I don't know about that. He's pretty much a midcarder in the overall scheme of things who took the ECW Champion to the limit one night then one of the biggest stars on RAW to the limit the next night. It's possible to get the rub even in defeat, and that's what I saw happening the past two nights.

You call Bourne losing to Matt Hardy & Rey jobbing? Far from it, Matt and Rey are two very established stars, oh excuse me I mean "entertainers", and Bourne had a great match with both of them but he's not over enough to gain wins over either one.
Posted By: Laura (Guest) on October 28, 2008 at 12:25 AM
Raw has been pretty good all month, but this is the best show so far and they didn't half ass it like they usually do after a PPV.
CENA COMING BACK = RATINGS ON NOVEMBER 24!
When I heard Cena was coming back that made my week.
Rey & Bourne had one hell of a match tonight and Kane should take off Rey's mask real soon.
Posted By: Hot Pocket (Guest) on October 28, 2008 at 12:28 AM
Is it just me or is Mickie James' belly getting away from her a bit? She is still got as hell but she needs to get that under control.

That video of cena was ridiculous, like he's some epic wrestler making a comeback, gimme a break....The dude got injured, not life threatening or career ending.
Put Punk, Kofi, Rey, and Bourne on the show every week=RATINGS..these guys are great

Rey and Sydal/Bourne was as good or better than anything TNA or ROH produced this year. Yeah, I said it.

"Still Can't beleive they put Mysterio over Bourne, I mean nothing can hurt Mysterio's marketablity at this point, but Bourne Jobbing two nights in a row could seriously stall him."
Oh geez. If you think getting in so much stuff but still losing to established guys is jobbing, then you have a hugely distorted view of wrestling 101 and I'm glad you don't booker anything. Bourne gets over more in strong showing LOSSES to Mysterio and Hardy than he does beating Chavo or whoever.

I don't think understand just how big of a travesty it is for Kelly to beat someone with the skill and talent level of Katie Lea. Fucking horrible. Good to see Katie/Layla teamed up though.

Posted By: Dwayne (Guest) on October 28, 2008 at 07:11 AM
I agree with Western, you don't need to tell us what happened because most of us saw it.
It'd be awesome if you gave your own opinions and what you thought of the matches and segments considering A) You don't do RAW on the 4R's and B) We don't have the RAWtopsy anymore.
Posted By: . (Guest) on October 28, 2008 at 07:17 AM
Rey v Evan was really fun and Santino as per usual put forth a comical promo pre match, but other than that Raw is ridiculously stale.
Though I'm hoping Orton gets Adamle fired.
Or alternatively Orton leaves Raw goes to SD and beats HHH for his belt... a boy can dream.

Pretty good show with the Bourne/Mysterio and the tag title match. I like the Kofi/Punk team.
Posted By: Jake Fury (Guest) on October 28, 2008 at 08:40 AM
So let me get this straight, our tag team champs are Mr. Straight Edge and the Rastafarian Ganja Toker Kofi Kingston?
I give it 2 weeks and Punk will be looking stoned on monday nights.

What a snoozefest.
Anything CAN happen in the WWE Universe, but and nothing ever does.
Posted By: zzzzzzz (Guest) on October 28, 2008 at 09:33 AM
lmao @ the Bourne/Rey hi-low.
Bourne landed on Rey's head.
Posted By: Elliot (Guest) on October 28, 2008 at 09:46 AM
I loved the show however, and i'm sure i'm not alone in this view, i think it is time for the large musclebounds freaks to make a return and start earning their keep (referring to Snitsky, Khali, Umaga, etc) rather than doing nothing and still being paid. But thats just me.
It is my belief that Evan Bourne and Rey Mysterio make a very cohessive and successful tag team and would deffinately like to see more of their co-operation. Not taking away from their individual talens but it makes more sense for them to form a tag team and gain a championship or something.
Frankly i don't care for Orton and would gladly see him leave the WWE however i also know good business sense. They need him to get the crowds as many people pay to see if he get's hurt (personal oppinion again). Yet at the same time he might try being ... pleasant for once in a while rather than being so arrogant and egotistical.
Over-all a good showing though
since we don't have stars atm i'll write it
personally i'd give this show 4/5 stars (9/10)

Posted By: Samer (Guest) on October 28, 2008 at 10:50 AM
I can't beleive it but last nights RAW was actually pretty good the tag title match was decent and im a Punk fan so I was happy
Matt Sydal vs Rey was good I would have like to have seen2 rey have a match with Sydal in his prime before all the countless knee injuries
Posted By: random (Guest) on October 28, 2008 at 11:09 AM
Show was...not too bad. The main event sucked, but Punk has gold again (even if it id tag gold) so that's bonus pooints. And it's about time someone is pushing Sydal. I've always thought that kid was money.

------------------------------------------
Yeah dude, when they used to do the live coverage thing they used the same page for it so it had all this stuff about RVD from the 15th anniversary show.
When I saw the new format without all the old comments I made a comment about "no more RVD stuff" and the "brains" here at 411 and on the comments thought it would be cool to make smart ass comments.
It's gone so far that Csonka actually included a picture this week of RVD as a possible "spoiler".
I did it! IT WAS ME!
Anyway, Raw was so boring that my 12 year old son who loves wrestling looked at me and said "Dad this is boring" and he went to watch something else.
Punk and Kofi - just a pacifier since they gave them the two biggest belts on the show.
LETS SEE TAG WRESTLING - MAKE US CARE AGAIN.

I cannot get over how when Beth Phoenix smiles, she looks like Kane. Seriously...

I don't get these RVD jokes. Good riddance. He sucks. All of his moves take too long and have no power to them.
Orton could leave and it wouldn't matter. Unless he puts a cast on his arm like his dad did and I would like to see him go back to his Legend Killer days and face Kevin Von Erich at Wrestlemania 25. Then he can leave.

Lets see since CM Punk (obviously) is a punk rock fan and Kofi Kingston is Jamician combine the two and you can call them the punk style that popular (orginated?) in Jamica they are hereby known as Team SKA :) and yes I know that still is still somewhat popular here in the states too although I hate SKA. BTW now you CM Punk fanboys can stop crying about him getting held down. Seriously I'm a fan of the guy too but even Shawn when he was at CM Punk's stage of his career had times where they took steps back with him too. Before I hear all the "you can't compair the two" look at how simular they are building them. They booked Shawn to win the tag and every singles title back when it was still the F not the E and so far Punk has been with the company what a year? CM Punk has held ECW title, RAW World Title, The Tag Team Championship, and won Money In The Bank I know its not a title but its an achievement. So lets not bitch about CM Punk getting held down because he's clearly not.

I'm going to summon the Great Kreslin:
The World Series, Titans-Colts, last night's RAW:
What are three things that put me to sleep!
Seriously, for all of those who gave me crap about Batista being champ, just look to how quiet the crowd got after his pyro and entrance was finished. He was boring as sin, and the fans sitting on their hands proved it.
Jericho was greatness as always, and Orton actually delivered something Batista could never do: emotion during a promo! More of that please. It's stuff like that that keeps people invested in the wrestler.
I wish they'd wait on the tag title switch, but maybe, just maybe this will get a certain team into the mix:
I'm talking about Miz-Morrison! That's right, WWE, quit stalling and make them a permanent part of RAW. Had Vince had any brains he'd build them up into a new-age version of DX. Let them beat Punk-Kingston for the tag titles and BOOM! You have four teams with personality that could really be over.
Give Miz/Morrison an enforcer (Mike Knox) and throw some hot chicks around them and there ya go.
How sad that they will now have to be BERRIED just so DX can get a nostalgic pop!
and people think TNA's booking sucked.

Ok Raw.Great to see Punk and Kofi Tag Champs.Morrison and Miz are awesome but we all no DX will bury them.As for Mickie and her stomach. It's no issue for me I've seen chicks with fatter stomachs.

"WWE Universe" has to be the dumbest phrase this company has ever come up with. "Physical intensity" in place of violence was the previous champion. Are we to believe that by mass coincidence everyone cutting a promo lately has naturally decided to use this invented term? Even if the term itself wasn't stupid, have the announcers use it for a few weeks first and let it gradually sink in. No, they have to beat us over the head with everything. This is where we sorely miss a guy like Gordon Solie who had the term "crimson mask", a very cool way to avoid saying "blood". WWE has a great roster, but they are made to wade through the sewage of awful writing and booking every week and I can barely even stand to skim shows via DVR any more. I wish they would hire Paul Heyman again.

Pretty crappy Raw, although better than last week's stinker.
Mickie James belly=FREAKING AWESOME. I will hit that.
Bourne vs Mysterio-was expecting so much more, but decent for what it was.
Line of the night, by the Miz of all people: "Are you fifty?" instead of "Are you ready?". First time that guy ever made me laugh.

Haas as Beth Phoenix? ELEVENTY-BILLION STARS!
Am I the only one wishing for a series of matches in which Santino goes over Goldust, Piper and HTM?
Posted By: Armando Rodriguez (Registered) on October 28, 2008 at 05:54 PM
Golddust saying he didn't like cross dressers had me in stitches, and of course Santino was gold yet again.
Not too happy about the tag team title swtich. Priceless were going places, and I was hoping to see them hold the belts for quite a while longer. Whilst Kofi Kingston is just nowhere near good enough to justify being an IC and tag champ in his first year in the WWE. Even Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle didn;t win two titles as quickly as he's done. He'd have a use if there was a crusierweight division, but there isn't so they need to feature him less prominantly for the foreseeable future.
Forcing Miz and Morrison to say that DX were the best tag team of the 20th Century. Oh come on, has Triple H's ego grown so big that two wrestler are made to say something which clearly isn't even close to being true. I think the Steiners, The Midnight Express, Demolition, Rock and Roll Express, Brainbuster and many many more might have something to say about that.
And Kelly Kelly pinning Katie Lea.Give me a break, once again she proved that she can't wrestle. Even Candice Michelle was miles better than her last night. And she isn't even in the same ball park as women like Mickie and Katie Lea at wrestling so certainly shouldn't be pinning them. Plus she ain't over as proved by Mickie winning the Costume Contest at Cyber Sunday even though KK has been forced down our throats for months and even though Vince did everything in his power to get her to win. Please Vince get rid of her. Her zero talent, zero charisma and bland blonde persona is just totally wearing thin.

looks like we have a survivor seriers match coming together - rey, bourne, kofi, punk vs. kane, henry, rhodes, dibiase.
**
I was thinking Priceless/Manu/JBL/Orton vs. punk/kofi/cryme tyme/cena
at least they have potential for an elimination match that makes sense this year, we'll see I guess.

You have to take into consideration where the event took place. I was there, and Rey is more over than anyone on any roster. Does it hurt either to lose? Not Bourne as much as Rey. Besides, in WWE, Rey has won a World Title, Bourne has competed for one once.
The crowd was great, the show was solid. Less talk, more action. Probably one of the best Raws I've seen in a LONG time.

I really dont see nothing wrong with him being a tag champ. He'll be world champ again someday if not in WWE than TNA.

Yeah for being such a chick magnet and whatever morrison thinks he is they certainly lack in having diva's around them.. Give them some boobies to make them look a little less Gay.

Hell yes @ Tag Team Title change. Now M&M2008 can go after the straps and bring some gold back into the palace of wisdom! Once they finish laying down for the fossils, that is.
Simply Priceless can proceed to serve as Orton's croneys. "THOSE ORTON GUYS".
