WWE RAW: 11.03.08

-We get a special video package for the 806th 800th episode of Raw!

-Cole and the King welcome us to the show.

~THE LEGEND KILLER SPEAKS~

Randy Orton makes his way to the ring and says he gave Shane and Stephanie an ultimatum, Mike Adamle goes or he walks. But in typical McMahon fashion we have been made to wait, and he is not leaving until they come out here and address the situation. He isn't bluffing; just try him. He grabs a chair and has a seat at ringside.

-Matt and Jeff Hardy make their way to the ring.

-We see video of Jeff's giant swanton onto Orton back in January.

Jeff and Matt Hardy vs. MVP and THE Brian Kendrick w/ZEKE

Jeff and MVP to begin things. Lock up, off the ropes and a shoulder block and cover by MVP gets 1. Forearms to Jeff, scoop slam and then misses a knee drop. Boots from Jeff, off the ropes and Jeff takes MVP down, leg drop to the balls and a cover for 2. Tag to Matt, off the ropes and a double back elbow and then elbow drop gets 2. Tag back to Jeff, poetry in motion on MVP and Jeff covers for 2 as Kendrick breaks it up. Jeff misses the corner dropkick, tag to Kendrick and he gets a slingshot kick on Jeff, covers for 2. Kendrick lays the boots to Jeff, mounted rights and then a basement dropkick follows, cover for 2. Chinlock by Kendrick, slams Jeff down and then goes for THE Kendrick, countered and Jeff gets the gourd buster suplex. Tags to MVP and Matt, rights by Matt and then off the ropes and a back elbow lands for Matt. Corner clothesline and the bulldog on MVP and clothesline to Kendrick. Double ax smash, side effect and a cover for 2 as Kendrick makes the save. TOF countered, off the ropes and Matt and MVP clothesline each other. Kendrick gets the tag as Jeff had the ref distracted, he argues with the ref, TOF by Matt, Swanton by Jeff and Matt covers for the win.

Winners: The Hardy's @ 4:00 via pin

-We get a video from the first ever Raw episode, with Heenan trying to get into the building.

-We get a video of "The Kid" defeating Razor Ramon.

-Santino and Beth Make their way to the ring.

8-Man Battle Royal for an IC Title Shot Next Week: JTG vs. Shad vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Ted DiBiase vs. Manu vs. Snitsky vs. Jamie Noble vs. William Regal

They all brawl to begin as Santino joins the commentary team. Cody and Noble over the top, but slide back in. DiBiase tries to toss Regal, Snitsky and Shad brawl as JTG is almost tossed. Back in and the Second Generation stars toss Snitsky. DiBiase then tosses Cody and Manu! Noble and Regal brawl to the floor, and Noble was tossed before that. JTG on the apron, sling shot in by Shad but DiBiase side steps that. DiBiase tosses JTG, and we're down to Shad and DiBiase. Rights by Shad, and then a clothesline. DiBiase escapes a slam, and then misses a boot and DiBiase dropkicks Shad to the floor. But Regal sneaks back in, and tosses DiBiase for the win.

Winner: William Regal @ 3:00

-Santino calls Regal a cheater as Regal and Layla celebrate in the ring. Raw is live from England next week. Hmmmm.

-A limo arrives backstage and it is…STEPH and SHANE! Steph tells Shane to handle this one, and he agrees.

-We get highlights of Shane buying WCW.

~SHANE ANSWERS ORTON~

Randy Orton is in the ring and demands to hear an answer since Shane and Stephanie are here. His health was in danger last week due to Adamle, and then he was slapped. Either Adamle goes or he goes.

Shane McMahon makes his way to the ring. SHANE-O-MAC DANCE-A-RAMMA~! Shane then says he doesn't appreciate the aggressive tones or threats. Orton demands an answer and says if Vince was here, it wouldn't be an issue. Shane says he is not his father, but Orton should respect the position Shane holds in the company.

Mike Adamle now makes his way to the ring. Adamle says before Shane continues he has to say something. Since the beginning of Raw, the person in charge has had an agenda. Some good and some bad. He wanted to be different and remain neutral. He didn't want to take a side, and that is what made him special. Unfortunately…you ready? I won't let it happen to me. He is getting emotional. Last week he let Orton get the best of him and he slapped Orton. He became the very thing he didn't want to be. This job corrupts, and he doesn't want to let that happen to him. That is why… that is why as of right now, he is resigning as the GM of Raw. He thanks Shane and Steph for the chance and leaves.

Orton then says he is owed an apology, and Shane says to back off and that HE owes Adamle an apology. Shane says he didn't excuse him yet, and he says Orton has had an excuse with his shoulder. But watching him at Cyber Sunday, he looks in great shape. Shane talked to Orton's doctor and apparently he has been cleared to compete for weeks. Orton was going to get around to it, and when he mentions Survivor Series, Shane changes the tune to tonight. Shane couldn't deny the fans to watch Raw's Greatest Commodity in action. Orton will compete in this ring tonight. Orton would love too, but he isn't prepared and doesn't have any gear. Shane says he has taken care of everything. Orton will face a man he is familiar with, the man who you kicked in the head and cost him the title. Orton will face CM Punk tonight.

-We get a video of Obama, and McCain on Raw.

-BRET "THE HITMAN" HAAS makes his way to the ring. Vladimir Kozlov screwed Vladimir Kozlov at Cyber Sunday.

Vladimir Kozlov vs. BRET "THE HITMAN" HAAS

Boot to the gut by Haas, but Kozlov with the belly to belly suplex. Head butt to the chest and that is all.

Winner: Vladimir Kozlov @ 0:30 via pin

-We get a video of Jericho losing the title at Cyber Sunday.

-Todd Grisham is with Batista. Todd discusses classic title matches on Raw, and asks Batista how confident he is tonight. Batista says he is not ready to give it up, and tonight there are no excuses and he will go home with the title.

-We get some classic DX video. DX invades WCW.

-DX walks.

-DX makes their way to the ring. HHH jokes about forgetting about the pyro and then does his shtick on the mic… until HBK says he is not ready. He was watching ECW last week, and saw Miz and Morrison mocking them. He has HHH watch the tron and we see the video of the mockery. They do the "shocked" faces and HBK says that could have been them. They dressed up guys to look like us, and then beat them up. That's innovative, and stuff. HBK then mocks the size of HHH's nose. He said he never realized how gigantic it was. HHH says the camera adds 10lbs, and HBK asks how many cameras are on it. HBK then says they mocked the chaps, and he has put up with a lot. You can punch his wife in the face, but when you mock the chaps, that's where he draws the line. HHH then says there is no reason to mock HBK for losing his hair. HBK places his hat on and says he didn't recall that part. HHH says he just assumed, and HBK says to NEVER SPEAK OF THIS AGAIN! HHH says they were in high school when they started. When they revolutionized the industry, they were, well… We get a high school picture of the Miz, senior class picture. HHH says he looks like a horse, and then says no offense to Lillian. We see Morrison and HHH makes the gay joke, and says they got beat up every day in high school, and tonight will be no different. So Shawn, ARE YOU READY? He's ready! Miz, are you ready? We see No Mercy 2006 when the big fat naked oily guy danced on a blind folded Miz. HBK is sick now. For the thousands in attendance, million around the world and for Miz and Morrison, because they have a dream, not to be in the ring with DX, but a dream to enjoy the same rights as any other couple in the US, the right to be able to marry and have a family, for Miz and Morrison, let's get ready to suck it.

IRONY: Making gay jokes while preparing to suck it.

D-Generation X (HBK and HHH) vs. The Miz and John Morrison

We're JIP with Morrison covering HHH for 2. Side headlock by HHH, Morrison escapes, a whip to the corner and a clothesline by HHH. Tags to Miz and HBK, rights to Miz. Off the ropes and the forearm by HBK. Atomic drop, rights and then the slam by HBK. Up top, elbow drop connects and HBK tunes up the band. Morrison stops that, eats a right, and that allows Miz to turn HBK inside out with a clothesline. Double team on HBK and a cover for 2 by Morrison. Morrison into the chinlock variation, HBK escapes and delivers chops to Morrison. HBK whipped to the corner, clothesline by Morrison and a cover for 2. Miz tags in, boots to HBK and to the corner, Miz charges and gets the corner clothesline. Miz mocks HHH's pose, HBK counters the reality check into the backslide for 2. A clothesline from Miz follows, Morrison tags in and then HBK counters the Moonlight Drive, Enziguri by HBK and we get the hot tag to HHH. Rights to Morrison, Harley Race knee to Morrison, right to Miz. Off the ropes and the face buster to Morrison. Pedigree try, Miz in and he eats a spinebuster. Springboard kick by Morrison takes out HHH, HBK stops the count. Flying clothesline by M Morrison, KIP UP! Morrison tunes up the band, SUPERKICK to HHH! Tag to Miz. They do the DX crotch chops and Miz goes for the pedigree on HHH, countered as HHH backdrops out. HBK low bridges Morrison, superkick to Miz, pedigree follows and that is all.

Winner: DX @ 7:00 via pin

-DX celebrates.

-JBL and Shane are backstage watching on. JBL says his beating of HBK wasn't enough last week. But he has a business proposition for Shane. He says Raw needs a leader, a change. He wants to be GM. Shane says he will talk to Stephanie about it. Shane says he wants JBL in a power role tonight, in the ring. JBL thinks he is making the cage match a triple threat. Shane says he was thinking JBL vs. The Undertaker. JBL says it is a match up of titans, an honor. Shane is glad they had this little talk.

-We see video of Mike Tyson appearing on Raw and the pull apart with Steve Austin.

Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, Michelle McCool, Candice Michelle, Mae Young, Brie Bella, Eve Torres and Tiffany vs. Beth Phoenix, Victoria, Maryse, Natalya, Victoria, Jillian Hall, Katie Lea and Lena Yada

This is just a bad idea. The match starts as Mae Young is making her way to the ring. Beth and Kelly to begin, head scissors by Kelly. Tag to Mae and rights to Beth. Forearms follows, left to Natalya, to Victoria, to Jillian and Mae falls down. Back up and a left to Layla and the hells go to gang up on her, and it breaks down. Mae tosses Lea, but then Beth rolls up Mae for the win.

Winners: Beth Phoenix, Victoria, Maryse, Natalya, Victoria, Jillian Hall, Katie Lea and Lena Yada @ 2:00 via pin

-Santino comes out to celebrate with Beth.

-Smackdown rebound time.

-We see video of Hogan and the Rock meeting face to face.

-We then get video of the attack on CM Punk at Unforgiven.

CM Punk vs. Randy Orton

They circle as Punk throws leg kicks, get an Enziguri and then follows up with rights and knees in the corner. A whip by Punk, another and then Orton explodes out with a clothesline to Punk. Laces to the face by Orton, Orton stomp then follows and then the knee drop and a cover for 2. CHINLOCK OF DOOM by Orton! Let the bitching begin. Orton and his tattoos in control, to the corner and Punk avoids the charge and gets the springboard clothesline. Kicks by Punk, spinning back fist and the kick to the head follows. Off the roes and a leg lariat by Punk. Knee of doom follows, Orton counters the bulldog and then stalks Punk. The RKO is stopped as DiBiase rushes in and attacks Punk.

Winner: CM Punk @ 3:00 via DQ

-Orton bitches at Cody and Manu, and then CONCUSSION KICK TO DIBIASE~! Orton stares down with Cody and Manu and then leaves.

-DiBiase was stretchered out during the commercial.

-Manu and Cody catch up with Orton and ask what the hell he just did. Orton says he realizes that they want revenge on Punk, but they cost him his first victory since his return. What he did is kick sense into DiBiase, and they will see if it sinks in. He tells them to do something about it if they have a problem, he DARES THEM! TRIPLE DOG DARES THEM! They do nothing and he says that they are smart, and there maybe hope for them just yet.

-We then get video of the Floyd Mayweather/Big Show weigh-in for WrestleMania 24.

-Steph is backstage texting, and Mike Adamle comes into her office. She liked his speech, and he then says she knows why he is leaving. Every time he makes a decision, she changes it. That makes no sense. He then says motherhood has done her no good. She then says not to blame her for what happened, and controlling this show is her birthright. Shane is now in and she says it was nothing. Shane has an announcement for Survivor Series, Steph wants to know what it is, and Shane says to trust him.

-We see video of Taker vs. Jeff in the ladder match for the Undisputed Title.

-BAH GAWD, BOOMER SOONER JR IS HERE! He commentated for over 600 episodes of Raw. He and THE TAZZ have commentary for this match.

-We see video of Taker at the first Raw.

JBL vs. The Undertaker

Lock up to begin, off the ropes and a shoulder block by Taker. Rights by Taker, gets the arm, old school time for JBL. Off the ropes and a clothesline by JBL. Rights to Taker in the corner, and he just beats Taker down. More rights by JBL, Taker fights back and whips JBL to the corner, scoops him up and gets snake eyes. Big boot by Taker, leg drop follows and a cover for 2. GOOZLE, chokeslam, JBL escapes the tombstone, hits the ropes and they collide and both men are down. JBL rolls to the floor, the ref counts, JBL up, ZOMBIE SIT UP and JBL say fuck this shit and takes the count out.

Winner: The Undertaker @ 3:00 via Count Out

-HBK is out, tosses JBL back in, TOMBSTONE for JBL. VINTAGE UNDERTAKER!

-We get video of the Austin beer truck segment.

-Kung Fu Naki is in the ring, Hornswoggle appears and they dance. The BOOGEYMAN appears, and he does the BOOGEYMAN DANCE! Goldust is now out and does a dance as well. Jesse, Festus, Hacksaw, DUSTY, Lillian, Teddy Long, the Sarge, Cole, and King all join the party. Goldust molests Michael Cole a bit, and now Ron Simmons is out.

-Wait for it…

-Wait for it….

-DAMN!

-More dancing.

-We get video of the Ric Flair retirement show.

Tag to Henry, press slam try, escape by Rey and he then gets killed with a clothesline. Drop toehold by Kofi, nails Kane to the floor, corner punches to Henry and then avoids a charge, cross body off the top by Kofi, caught, Rey in with dropkicks, clothesline by Kane, world's strongest slam on Kofi and Henry gets the pin.

-We get a John Cena video package.

-Shane and Steph meet backstage. They discuss Cena getting the title shot, but Steph says to keep her in the loop. They are in business together, and they shouldn't surprise each other. Shane says he wishes dad were here, and Steph says he would be proud. She didn't seem to enthused when Shane mentioned Vince. DRAMA~!

Batista follows, rights by Batista and Jericho falls and then Batista crotches himself on the top rope. Halle-fucking-lujah! Jericho wins the belt back, and WWE is a better place for it.

AWESOME. Fuck old ass Batista. Jericho FTW

Posted By: NickNitro (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:17 PM

Jericho = Transitional champ

This is unfortunate but i'm afraid its true. Cena will be champ and the E is saving Cena/Batista for WM25

Posted By: Johnny O (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:17 PM

Steph took Vince out so she could have more control. You heard it hear first. They totally gave it away in the last Shane/Steph segment.

Oh hell yeah....all is well w/ the world again! Although does this now mean Cena wins it at Survivor Series to set up Cena vs. Batista at WM?

Jericho winning back the world title is the best thing on this show... plus the progress in the Orton/Priceless angle.. plus seeing that hottie Stephanie McMahon

JERICHO!!!

Posted By: Gore (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:19 PM

Chris Jericho shouldn't have lost the title at Cyber Sunday if he was going to win back the title anyways. You should have had Jericho retained instead of having two short reigns. We have had many short WHC reigns this year.

Posted By: Chris (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:21 PM

That Divas tag match was like something out of HUSTLE or CHIKARA, except at least with those, they don't look so out of place.

Posted By: Guest#1398 (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:23 PM

YES at Jericho getting his belt back. Redeemed an otherwise garbage episode of RAW.

On an unrelated note, I always thought Jericho's band Fozzy had flopped, but I found out today their latest album sold 100,000 copies!!! Jericho is truly the greatest guy ever.

Posted By: Tha Big Dawg (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:23 PM

RAW IS JERICHO AGAIN!!!!
FUCK ROIDISTA!

Posted By: this guy (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:24 PM

At least Jericho is less of a transitional champion than the MANIMAL Baptista!!!

And I love how they're doing the extremely slow build to Orton taking the lead of Priceless. It makes them seem like a big deal, rather than a bunch of guys surrounding Orton just 'cause.

Posted By: Homie (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:24 PM

Make up your FUCKING minds about the WHC title, WWE. That title has been devalued to almost nothing now.

Posted By: Casual Observer (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:24 PM

and God said...

"LET THERE BE JERICHO!"

Posted By: Ray A (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:26 PM

The World Title situation is good for all involved. Batista got a world title reign to show he's still in the main event picture, the World title has a short reign in it's history, and Jericho is Champ.

So please, STOP BITCHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted By: Mattitude (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:28 PM

Am i the only one who noticed the Undertaker-Shawn staredown? I'd rather watch that alone than see Batista trying to 'wrestle.'

But seriously, wasn't that the greatest thing ever? Are they hinting at a Wrestlemania match??

(Or maybe I'm looking too much into it)

Posted By: guesthehe (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:29 PM

OK, so please explain the relevance of Cyber Sunday now.

Posted By: Kristian (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:29 PM

Triple threat for Survivor Series:
Batista vs Cena vs Jericho.

Batista or Cena will win the title at the Rumble to set up their match at WM 25.

This show literally sucked all kinds of ASS tonight!

"Chris Jericho shouldn't have lost the title at Cyber Sunday if he was going to win back the title anyways. You should have had Jericho retained instead of having two short reigns. We have had many short WHC reigns this year."

this is clearly the earliest contender for Markish Post of the Night.

thanks, you gave me a good chuckle reading that.

Highlight of the show was Mae Young almost killing herself by falling on her ass and hitting her head against the bottom rope. That will be included in the next Botchamania video for sure.

who actually thought really thought morrison and miz were going to win against dx.its unfortunate.anyways y2j champ again...

Posted By: the champ (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:33 PM

Where do I begin? Let's see first things first. Orton makes his return against CM Punk and they just get four minutes before a DQ. Nice going booking. Next Charlie Haas proves he's the worst there is the worst there was and the worst there ever will be. The tag champs don't even interact and Khali of all people saves Rey. Taker and JBL was basically Taker making JBL his bitch. DX buried Miz and Morrison but I'm not complaining. A lame battle royal for number one contendership for a title no one cares about. Who ever came up with the idea that a woman who's been around since the last supper needs to be wearing wrestling tights needs to be shot and have his eyes gouged out, that stupid dance off between guys who I don't know why still have a job.

And to top it off a cage match where the guy who lost it 8 days ago gets it back. And the point of Batista winning it was? My cousin who was staying with me forced me to watch the Power Rangers marathon since he doesn't like wrestling and we would switch between commercials. I found that more enjoyable than this.

Posted By: Michael (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:34 PM

Okay, so I thought I was done with Raw after the stupid ass dancing segment, and then the end came and Jericho got the title back, making it worth tuning in at least one more time next week. Here's hoping he's not just a transitional champ, maybe he keeps it until Mania for him and HBK to truly settle their feud.

What a lousy show.

Man I'd love to see Cena do a heel turn again. He was kickass as the cocky rapper/thug. I like him now, but he was the shit back then, and rap sucks.

Wow the kids made Vince sound dead tonight.

Epic SETBACKZ!

I said right here after Batista won the title that his reign would be very short.

God, I'm fucking brilliant.

Posted By: The Mayor of Awesometown (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:39 PM

I'm with you Crook, Steph is behind the stage falling on Vince. She wanted control of RAW, didn't want Vince to spend the wealth (and her inheritance), Shane names Adamle GM and she undermines him. I wouldn't be suprised if she's behind Jericho as well (Adamle let Jericho in the scramble, Steph could have made him, she could have even set up the ring he used on Batista to be available, hence his confidence).

Great great storyline. And the Man is the champ once again. Jericho is to 2008 what Ric Flair was to the 80s and 90s.

Posted By: B (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:45 PM

Why even take the title off Jericho in the first place? If Batista was going to lose it anyway he should have lost it to Cena at Surivor Series.

Posted By: The Anvil (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:46 PM

Booooo-urns to tonight's show!
Regal winning the battle royal and Jericho getting the belt back is great, but for a 3 hour BIG show this sucked that seam in the middle of my ballsack!

but did anyone notice that there was blood in the cage match. when was the last time the wwe used blood in any type of match?

Posted By: the man (Guest)  on November 03, 2008 at 11:50 PM

To all those who whined and bitched and moaned about Jericho losing the title....Shut the Fuck Up!!
Jericho looks stronger now than he did before. He was screwed out of a pinfall by HBK at Cyber Sunday and lost the title, now he wins it back inside a cage where the whole deal was there would be no excuses.
And there wasn't, he did what he had to within the rules and took his title back. He can now gloat his ass off next week, as he did after Michaels beat him and he won the title the same night.
The little mini-story came full circle, and Jericho looks stronger for it.

As for titles being devalued, I call bullshit. Nowadays longer reigns are more common than shorter ones. Look back to the attitude era, now THAT was devaluing a title.

I'm starting to think that the decision for Batista to win the title at Cyber Sunday was made just before the match. I don't think they wanted to run two shows in a row where none of the titles changed hands, but when CM Punk and Kofi lost the voting for the tag title match, they panicked and shotgunned a title switch. It was either Jericho or Trip losing the title, and I assume they want to save the Jeff Hardy title win for a bigger stage. It makes sense, with the tag and world titles switching hands in the weeks following the PPV.

Just something to think about...

B, I was kind of thinking along those lines, especially with the past history of Steph and Jericho working together (ironically, during his FIRST World Title reign). As for "the man" blood has been quite prominent in Jericho's recent PPV matches, although I see your point if you meant on free TV.

What was the point of taking the belt off Jericho in the first place if he was going to get it back a week later? Well doesn't matter, as long as Mr. Whiny Granny pants Batista doesn't have it.

"What was the point of taking the belt off Jericho in the first place if he was going to get it back a week later? Well doesn't matter, as long as Mr. Whiny Granny pants Batista doesn't have it."

I think it was worth it just because it was such a great surprise. If this cage match had just been a successful Jericho title defense, it wouldn't have been as good.

I think we're finally set to have Jericho "Save Us" as he proclaimed when he returned.

Seriously, WWE needs to have him has a strong champ with a lengthy run up to Mania.

They also need Santino and Haas to compete. Not just show up and be the most entertaining non-wrestling parts, but actually compete. Especially Santino, he's a champ, let him show how good a champ he can be.

Orton coming back is only gonna help, and so will Cena too. Hopefully Orton and Punk can carry a good feud, and have Cena totally bury Batista. These are the best ways to start getting Raw back to being entertaining.

Also, maybe bring Triple H back just to be buried by some young guy. Ya, I know it won't happen, but I'm sick to death of him. His control in the WWE is ridiculous, and it makes Smackdown unwatchable.

That had to be the poorest excuse of a main event I have seen in a long time. Jericho is climbing down the cage, Batista opens the door, grabs Jericho, tosses him into the ring and then....

You make the choice:

A. Simply walks out of the cage as Jericho was on his back several feet away

B. Step through the ropes and go back to fighting for no reason

I mean, the guy chose B. That absolutely ruined the match, not to mention the spot earlier in the match where Jericho was HANGING ON TO THE OPEN DOOR trying to hold himself from falling out of the cage.

Just two horrible, brainless spots.

It was a horrible show. Randy Orton carried it but, Vince is right, not even Orton can carry three hours of wrestling.

Other than Orton, this show was absolute garbage.

What's really worse is this show had 41:30 according to these times of actual "IN RING" wrestling on a 3 hour show. ECW has that much on a one hour show.

This is why I watch Ring Of Honor, it doesn't insult my intelligence like this shit.

im so happy jericho won the belt back.. god, the shitty wrestling done by bastista tonight just proved why he doesnt deserve that belt.. like 2-3 times, jericho was like."hanging" off almost about to get out of the cage.. and instead of batista stoping him. he never go there in time. so jericho just like.. lied there awkwardly.. hurry up dave....

RAW = orton and jericho.

How in the world can you say DX buried Miz and Morrison. They put them over big time. Just because they won doesn't mean they buried them.

Look at the highlights to the Taker vs. Hardy match. Taker won, but put Jeff over big time. DX spent nearly the entire match getting their asses whooped...clean mostly. Plus they sold the beating after the match. Two queer looking punks won't beat HHH and HBK on a rare 3 hour RAW and also a rare DX reunion, regardless of how skilled they are in the ring, thats not what the people paid to see. But the fact that they held there own the whole match puts them over.

Can we stop with the "DX BERRIED Miz and Morrison" crap?

I would have been one that wanted to see DX put Miz and Morrison over, but in alot of ways they did. I did not expect HHH to sell the superkick. Obviously when they started posing and messing around after the "Sweet Chin Music" I knew HHH would come back and obviously Miz wasn't going to get the Pedigree off after all that nonsense. But realistically DX made them look pretty legit and really sold their moves well. It certainly didn't make Miz/Morrison look weak, IMO it just made it seem like if they didn't mess around so much they might have won.

Why do I love tonight's show?

- Adamle resigned
- Goldust returned (full time? Any info on that guys?)
- Chris Jericho became NEW WWE World Champion in I believe the first title defense Batista even had in a steel cage (sorry kids but there will likely be a rematch between Batista and the champ at Armageddon, we can only get so much)
- We got to see Kelly Kelly and Tiffany in the ring at the same time with Candice and Mickie
- Regal won a title shot
- JR got to do commentary and took me out of the coma Cole's commentary was putting me into.

Thanks WWE! At least there was some good that came out of tonight.. and here I thought it'd just be another lame ass cage match with Batista retaining.. THANK GOD I WAS WRONG!

The divas match was irritating...I mean, I know they want Mae Young to get the Legends pop and all that but Beth Phoenix is meant to be a champion for God's sake and she got her ass handed to her. I thought the Miz and Morrizon vs DX match was good...Even if it was the wrong result. The match should still give them a significant boost.

Was that what all the fuss was about? I thought the 3 hour RAW Special was suppose to be great. Not Lame. WWE tried to make a mini ppv here and i for one was like WTF?!!! The Diva match, the DX re-union. The lame ass way the brought Orton back to in-ring action. The championship changing hands. Lame, Lame, Lame. If they wanted a PPV, then they should've just safed all of this for a real PPV. Now (the crapiest wrestler of time) in John Cena gets a title shot, just like that, cause thats what they want, a bunch of 7th graders buying Survivor Series. John Cena is just another copy of The Rock, only Much lamer.

The Rock had the peoples eyebrow
Cena has "U Cant See Me"
The Rock Said "Just Bring It"
Cena Says "U want some, Come get some"
The Rock Said "Finally the Rock has come back...!"
Cena Says "The Champ is here!"
The Rock uses "The People's Elbow"
Cena uses "The Five Knuckle Shuffle"

Cena = Lame
Cena as #1 contender = Dumbest Idea Ever
Cena+WHC = Utter Stupidity and a complete lack of originality.

It seems that after Survivor Series I will be just watching SmackDown and ECW. Im sick and tired of John Cena.

Just a couple of thoughts coming out of this "very special episode" of Raw.

Batista looked somewhat disinterested during the match. When Jericho almost made it out the door - he had to reposition himself with his feet towards Batista because Batista wasn't getting over there quick enough to prevent Jericho from getting out.

I know continuity isn't the WWE's strong suit - but wasn't Cena in the midst of a mild losing streak? Conveniently forgotten - or do you think that Jericho pins Cena to restart the whole "Cena lost his mojo" thing.

Randy Orton is to acting with subtelty as Michael Bolton is to singing with subtelty.

Very surprised that HHH didn't have to resort to Mr Sledgie last night. And wouldn't be surprised to see Miz/Morrison use Mr. Sledgie to take out Michaels and/or HHH at some point in the near future.

I'm glad Jericho won the title back last night. I marked out like back in the day. My complaint is about the match. How many times could either man have simply fallen out of the ring to win the title? There was a part where Jericho actually stopped and put his foot through the ropes himself so that he wouldnt fall out of the ring. Then, there was a part where Batista was outside of the ropes, the door open behind him, Jericho lying prone in the middle of the ring, and then Batista decided to climb through the ropes and continue to wrestle the match. Now I would have jumped to the ground, retained the belt and then gone back in the cage and beaten on Jericho, but thats just me. I'm happy with the result, just thought it was a bit sloppy.
The right man won!!!
Jericho for Prime Minister, or Commissioner of the NHL, btw, I'm Canadian!!!

I just want to point one thing out here: There are about 85 comments and about 80 of them are about how much Raw sucked and the reasons why. Of those 80- 10 of them are I am finished with the WWE for this reason.

Look if you don't like the product- why do you watch it or read about it. Isn't just a waste of your time. Personally I don't like ROH or TNA, but I don't read about it and make myself angry over it.

It's just wrestling, it is supposed to be an escape for a few hours a week, just like watching House or The Office or another TV Show. The difference is that this show is more geared to males and it is action packed.

Hey as they say in USA: Love it or Leave it.

(BTW- Yes I agree that the product has gone down since 1997 when the best storyline probably ever was the Hitman angle from about April 1997 to November 1997 and Canada vs. USA, but alas there have some great moments and storylines since then)

Also if you don't like Shane or Stephanie- fair enough, but this is their first appearance on TV in how many weeks, since before the summer, the McMahon's have been out of RAW, and for it was a significant show, they should have been there to begin with.

This was a hard show to watch, because at 3 hours there was just so damn much tiiiime waaaasting. You should've timed the DX talky segment, because that went on forever, to the point where I had to change the channel.

I caught the divas match and most of the cage match, and those were pretty good.

I've decided that the steel cage match is one of the dumbest concepts ever. I mean, how many times could either of those guys simply left, no issues at all? Especially Big Dave when the door was open and he was literally beside it, standing, outside the ropes, with Jericho prone in the middle of the ring.

Between the ME and the Diva's match, this was the funniest RAW ever.

What I thought they'd do (if they wanted Batista to win) was have Jericho climb out of the cage above the door, have Batista open the door and grab Jericho - which he did - but then just Batista Bomb him onto the floor, which would leave Jericho's feet in the air and Batista's feet on the ground, giving Dave the win. That's a finish I don't think I've ever seen before and probably would've marked out a little bit for on the basis of originality alone.

This is what it says;

"HHH says they were in high school when they started. When they revolutionized the industry, they were, well… We get a high school picture of the Miz, senior class picture. HHH says he
looks like a horse, and then says no offense to Lillian".

---------------------------------------

Triple H says THEY were in high school THEY started. When THEY revolutionized the industry, THEY were, well..... We get a high school picture of the Miz, senior class picture.

So, "they" describes Triple H and Shawn Michaels and Miz and Morrison.

They. They. They. They.
---------------------------------------
This is what it should say;

Triple H says that when he and Shawn Michaels started, Miz and Morrison were in high school. Triple H then says that when he and Shawn revolutionized the industry, Miz and Morrison were, well.... We get a high school senior class picture of the Miz.

Title reigns in 2008

WWE: 2 (Orton until Backlash, HHH now)
WHC: 7 (Edge until WM, UT until stripped, Edge ONS-June 30, CM Punk til Unforgiven, Jericho til Cyber Sunday, Batista til last night, Jericho now)

Posted By: Slick Rick (Guest)  on November 04, 2008 at 01:16 PM

PRediction Jericho loses it to Orton somehow in a 3-way/Four Corners and Orton forms the legacy stable with Simply Priceless so CM PUNK can get his big WM win.

There you still have Cena vs Batista/Cena vs Jericho blowoff match for Mania as well and elevate punk.

Although I hate the idea of being able to win the World title by escaping a cage, I'm just glad Jericho got the belt back.

Is it just me or did WWE step up their show tonight after hearing how well TNA was this past Thursday?

A true heel World Champ, the most popular wrestler in the biz returning, and potential McMahon drama, always entertaining.

Miz/Morrison did a great job against DX. I liked how they mocked them and even hit the Sweet Chin Music! Give these guys the tag straps and let them get another long reign.

Man I hope Regal wins the title next week. Put the belt on someone who will give it some prestige again.

November-March is when WWE has its best booking, looking forward to watching RAW next week.

So to sum up the match length for this THREE HOUR show:

one match - 16 min
one match - 7 min
one match - 4 min
four matches - 3 min each
one match - 2 min
one match - 30 seconds

41.5 minutes of wrestling (minus commercials during the main event) in a THREE HOUR show.

Add to that Miz & Morrison jobbing to guys who aren't even a team anymore and I'm glad I watched football instead. Unless you're a Jerichoholic this show sucked on ice.

That cage match was awesome. Sorry, but it was, simply because they went more for the escape than pinfalls and submissions...Jericho has to be calling his matches cause the finishes for his last few have been spectacular.

Quick bit of interesting trivia...on every Monday night wrestling event before an election, Chris Jericho has picked up a victory (in '96 vs. IRS/MKW, no match in '00-irony, in '04 in a 6-man tag vs. Evolution, and last night vs. Batista). The next day, the party leading in the polls wins. So, once Obama is elected, you can all thank Chris Jericho!

So, we get a 16 Diva tag match, Gail Kim left TNA for WWE, and Diva #16 is Mae Young, who damn near kills herself throwing whiff punches and almost breaks a hip on a roll up.

Goodbye, RAW! It was nice to know you, but I dare guess that we shan't meet again.

"This is why I watch Ring Of Honor, it doesn't insult my intelligence like this shit."

^^^Then go bitch and whine in a Ring of Honor news article, maybe someone may actually look at your post and NOT think "wow, attention seeker?" And would you care to explain how having 41:30 of wrestling is an insult to your intelligence? No? Just using an overused phrase you've heard tossed around a few times before without actually knowing the meaning of? Thought so.

No, an insult to my intelligence is having trained wrestling divas sell to a 80 something year old woman who might die in the ring. An insult to my intelligence, is having a 2 minute match with 16 people in it.

It's stupid man! There's nothing in WWE that seperates it's TV shows from the PPV's. They basically blew Cyber Sunday by giving the title back to Jericho so soon, which he shouldn't really have lost in the first place.

There's no passion in WWE anymore, which is why I hardly watch it, although I gave it a chance last night because of the 800th episode. There was just too much stuff being thrown out there that didn't mean anything. JBL/Taker? Diva's Tag? Orton/Punk getting 3 minutes when they could have had plenty of time to go 12+

Batista is dead in the water now, after all those title shots and coming close but never winning, after he finally wins it he loses it back in his first defense. Killed all of Batista's momentum that he had going whether you like him or hate him!

DX Reunion? Did anyone give Miz/Morrison a shot at winning? Couldn't we see this coming a mile away, they put them over just enough to not bury them but that was it...

The WWE needs to step it up and realize that their wrestlers just "showing up" doesn't give fans their moneys worth. Ring Of Honor, a company I love, BUST their asses on every show and the wrestling public is too jaded to realize it.

I mean seriously, besides production values and having money, there's nothing WWE does better than ROH. ROH has better tag teams now than WWE has had since the early 90's. Danielson really is the best wrestler in the world, bar none. I mean it doesn't matter if you like spotfests, brawls, mat wrestling.....you get it all on a ROH show and at a better premium than what's on TV.

It's so plain and simple, which makes me wonder why you all don't find a better place to send your 45 dollars a month instead of Vince's pocket.

First Batista isn't on Roids.... it's been proven.
Second JERICHO! YES, F**KING YES! This is good on soo many levels.
Better match with Cena making Cena the heavy fan favourite... When Cena beats him we will have another reason to hate the WWE. Jericho looks so good as top heel he looks naked with out the title belt and its the first time since like Rock/Austin that I thought a wrestler looked naked with out the belt and it's going to be an awesome wwe when Edge and Cena return.

Anyone else think Orton's new sleeves look aweful?

Why did they bother given Batista the title back if they were just going to screw him out of it again a week later!!!

Why are some of you counting the total length of wrestling times? Find something better to do. I was at the show and had a damn good time thank you very much.

At least Mike Adamle quit. Thank God, he was flubbing more lines than a nervous 4th grader in a Christmas play.

At least Orton's back, even if they blew the feud. And WTF is up with the tag champs not even tagging or interacting?

And what was the point of giving Batista the title if Jericho just wins it back anyway?

Seriously. Dancing? What the hell? I understand that there was an extra hour for them to deal with, but... Seriously?

Highlight of the show was Ademle stuttering his way out the door. Gawd he is plain awful. I really hope him quitting isn't a storyline in the making and it is for real him leaving.

Survivor Series screwjob looming.

1) Steph to prevent Cena from winning the title.

OR

2) Batista heel turn to prevent Cena from winning.

OR

3) Edge return to prevent Cena from winning

Meh, I find the whole weekly WHT switcharooza quite refreshing. I mean, we've become accustomed to the fact that after a world title changes hands, it's a three-month reign at least.

It's different! And kinda cool. I mean, before this one, when was the last time some former champ DID win a title rematch?

it has not been proven that batista isn't on steroids. it was proven that he showed up on the same list as all the others and bitched about it so he wouldn't get suspended. it's been proven that he, mysterio, and orton are being protected. since none of them were suspended.

Right, because it is worth it to protect all three of those guys (even though Orton's been suspended for wellness violation before) at the expense of making the Wellness Policy look like shit. If they wanted to protect anybody, they would have protected Jeff Hardy in the weeks leading up to WMXXIV. Use a little common sense.

...dumbass.

And I have to agree with Lolstrike, I did enjoy this short reign. People always beg for unpredictability, well how many people predicted that Jericho would have regained the title last night? Nobody, everyone was crying that Dave was going to squish Jericho. And now there's a legitimate surprise and people bitch about it? I don't get it.

It'd be a legitimate surprise if I woke up with cancer tomorrow. If I really wanted to I could steer a car with my feet. Both of those are completely possible...but it doesn't make them GOOD fucking ideas.

Yes because CANCER is akin to a short World Heavyweight Title reign.

My point is that when Batista wins the title, everyone bitched, because Batista went over Jericho. When they announced a rematch in a cage, everyone bitched, because Jericho was going to get buried. Then Jericho wins, and everyone bitched anyways. And now you're saying that it was a terrible idea for Jericho to get the belt back? Have you been watching the show at all since before Cyber Sunday?

Or are you just one of the TNA guys who runs on here, reads the report, and tries to find a flaw in every little thing WWE and cries to high heaven about how they're going to go out of business and Jeff Jarrett will rule the world?

Wow. The average match time on this show was 4 and a half minutes. -_- HOW DO YOU HAVE A 3 HOUR SHOW WITH THE AVERAGE MATCH LASTING 3.5 MINUTES!!! This is why I stopped watching WWE. It's not worth it. I rather go to sleep.

Am I the only one who thought Adamle forgot his lines? I think the crowd threw him off by yelling "WHAT?" and he couldn't keep it together.

DX beating Miz/Morrison must be the least surprising result since, well the last time DX had yet another re-union and buried their opponents.

Mae Young, getting the better of virtually every heel diva. I know you have to suspend reality when your watching the WWE, but I think that stretches it a bit too far. And naturally Katie Lea is made to made to look the worst during the 80 year beat down by being thrown out of the ring after a very slight push, despite being one of the best Divas on the roster. Oh well at least Kelly Zero Talent Kelly didn't get the pinfall again.

Good to see Regal picking up the win though, I'd rather see Burchill getting this push, but Regal getting it almost makes up for it. And I know Regal against Santino next week has the potential to be comedy gold.

Anyone else notice that wwe.com's photos make it seem like Mickie James doesn't exist?

Whassupwidat?!

Wow, 41 whole minutes of wrestling on a three hour broadcast? I'm in shock.

Posted By: miles (Guest) on November 04, 2008 at 01:48 AM

Yeah the door rule is one of the dumbest rules in Wrestling.

Why would anyone want to climb over the cage when you can just walk out of the door. All they have to do is abolish the rule and lock the cage, and the match would work more logically

I know 'logic' and 'wrestling' don't go together that well most of the time, but c'mon that rule is rediculous.

I think they never really wanted Jericho to lose the title. They just backed themselves into a corner with the Special Guest Referee stipulation. If Austin counts a pin or DQ for Jericho, he's gonna get booed and he doesn't want that. So they let Batista win it planning the rematch on Raw all along.
