100 Percent Fordified: CHIKARA Aniversario Elf

3.0 cut basically the same promo they did back at Wit, Verve, and a Bit O’ Nerve. They say tonight they get back on track and would be the ones laughing by the end of the night.

The Future Is Now (Equinox & Helios) vs. The Super Smash Bros. (Player Uno & Player Dos) vs. 3.0 (Scott “Jagged” Parker & Shane Matthews) vs. Team F.I.S.T. (Gran Akuma & Chuck Taylor)

3.0 now have Zubaz tights. Matthews and Uno duel with shoulder blocks. Matthews gives Uno a headscissors and dropkick. Jagged and Equinox circle the ring looking to either lace fingers or lock up. They stop and Matthews get the fans to chant “Scott”. Equinox cranks on Jagged’s ankle. Jagged sends Equinox into the corner with a headscissors, but misses double knees in the corner. Jagged then misses a moonsault, but lands on his feet. Jagged and Equinox do some nip-ups and cartwheels. Dos and Helios tag in and gives us some nice Lucha. Taylor kicks Helios as he hits the ropes. Dos looks for a hip toss, but Helios rolls through and puts Dos on his shoulders. Taylor spinebusters Helios as Dos is on his shoulders. Equinox throws Taylor out, and Akuma kicks Equinox. F.I.S.T. team up on Equinox in their corner. Jagged hits Akuma from the apron, and Taylor gets in a small tussle with 3.0. Taylor goes right back to beating up Equinox. Equinox dropkicks Taylor’s leg out and spikes him with a low hurricanrana. Akuma and Uno tag in. Uno takes out both members of F.I.S.T. Dos comes in, and each Super Smash Bro eats a boot. 3.0 hold F.I.S.T. in the corners so Dos and Uno can attack them. They move and the SSB knock 3.0 off the apron. Uno gives F.I.S.T. a double shiranui with an assist by Dos. Uno dives onto Akuma on the floor. Dos drops Helios on his head with a German suplex. Dos gives Taylor a quebrada into a DDT. Dos superkicks Helios and Equinox gives him the big right hand punch at the same time. Equinox pins Dos to eliminate the Super Smash Bros. at 10:07. Matthews turns Equinox inside out with a clothesline, and Jagged dropkicks Helios as he comes off the top rope. 3.0 send Akuma to the floor. Taylor boots Matthews, and Jagged pops up Taylor into a spear from Matthews. Jagged gives Helios a Samoan Drop and Matthews gives him a Samoan Drop. Equinox eats the Sweet Taste of Professionalism. Jagged gives Akuma a step-up dropkick. He puts Akuma up top, but Taylor crotches Jagged on the top rope. Akuma gives Jagged a frog splash to pin Jagged and eliminate 3.0 at 11:36. Equinox comes off the top rope with a dropkick and then superkicks Taylor. Akuma gives Equinox a tornado DDT. Helios gives Akuma double knees from the top rope (known as “The Sky is Falling”). Taylor superkicks Helios as he’s seated in the corner. Helios Tiger Walks off Akuma, and Taylor catches him with an Inverted Awful Waffle. Equinox breaks the pin. Taylor applies the Cross Crab on Equinox. Equinox kicks Taylor off and Taylor gives him the Sole Food. Equinox blasts Taylor with a right hand, and Helios hits a standing shooting star press for the pin and victory at 13:13. This was a super hot action packed to kick off the night. 3.0 looked absolutely amazing in this match, as did the Future Is Now. The other two teams brought their A game as well making this a damn good opening match. The Future Is Now now have three points and will challenge for the Campeonatos de Parejas in June. ***1/4

Fire Ant vs. Lince Dorado

Dorado looks to dive on Fire Ant, but Fire Ant catches him with an antzugiri. Fire Ant comes off the top rope with a crossbody. He knocks down Dorado with a couple forearms and a big antzugiri in the corner. He sends Dorado to the floor with a dropkick. Fire Ant pescado’s into Dorado’s arms, and Dorado powerbombs Fire Ant onto the ring apron. In the ring Dorado hits a rolling thunder to Fire Ant’s back and then springboards into a double stomp. Dorado stretches Fire Ant in a seated abdominal stretch while pulling on Fire Ant’s mask. Dorado stretches Fire Ant’s back over his knees. Fire Ant kicks Dorado in the face so he’ll go away. Dorado goes right back to stretching out Fire Ant’s back over his knee. Dorado dropkicks Fire Ant in the corner. He follows up with a standing moonsault for two. Dorado gives Fire Ant a backbreaker. Dorado kicks Fire Ant right between his shoulder blades. Dorado gives Fire Ant a vertical suplex and heads up top. Fire Ant throws Dorado off with a fireman’s carry. Fire Ant lays in some strikes to Dorado then nails the wheelbarrow stunner. He wheelbarrows into a prawn hold for two. Fire Ant misses the Yahtzee kick. Fire Ant looks for the CHIKARA Special, but Dorado rolls him up for two. Fire Ant escapes an attempt at the Inverted CHIKARA Special. Dorado looks for a top rope Spanish Fly, but Fire Ant cracks him with the Heat of the Moment. He nails the Yahtzee kick. Dorado bails into the crowd, and Fire Ants springboard splashes onto him. Dorado sweeps Fire Ant’s legs out as he steps onto the apron. Dorado hits a beautiful Lynxsault. He gives Fire Ant a buckle bomb. Fire Ant picks up Dorado for the Beach Break. Dorado hits a standing Spanish Fly for two. Dorado drops Fire Ant with the Michinoku Driver and follows up with a shooting star press for the pin at 10:05. This was another great, fun tag match that the fans ate up. Dorado and Fire Ant get better almost every show and really proved that they serve well in singles competition as well as in tag matches. ***

Amasis vs. Vin Gerard

Amasis and Gerard trade wristlocks. Gerard schoolboys Amasis for two. Amasis trips Gerard into a leg crank. Back on their feet, Amasis and Gerard go back and forth off the ropes trading maneuvers. Amasis drags Gerard to the floor, and he takes a breather. Amasis looks to dive, but Gerard headstands off the apron into a kick to the face. Gerard hops in and gives Amasis a few armdrags. He gives Amasis a hurricanrana and dropkick. Amasis rolls up Gerard for two. Each guy sweeps the others legs looking for a pin and reach a stalemate. Amasis misses a springboard shoulder block and Gerard smushes him with a senton for two. Gerard drops Amasis with a running brainbuster. Gerard takes Amasis over with a double underhook suplex for two. Gerard gives Amasis a suplex for two. Gerard runs his knee into Amasis’ lower back. Gerard drops Amasis with a neck breaker for two. Amasis fights up and hits a springboard shoulder block. Amasis takes down Gerard with a clothesline, elbow, and leg lariat. Amasis evades a 2k1 Bomb and hits a flying knee strike. Amasis looks for a dive and Gerard looks for the headstand kick. Amasis kicks Gerard down from the apron, and comes off the apron with a shoulder tackle. Amasis throws Gerard in the ring and heads up top. Gerard runs up but gets pushed down. Gerard leg drags Amasis off the top rope and applies the STF. Amasis makes it to the ropes to break. Colin Delaney on commentary is getting annoyed with Gerard not cheating, and immediately breaking the submission. Gerard gives Amasis a Northern Lights suplex and rolls into the 2k1 bomb for two. Amasis and Gerard trade forearm strikes. They then slug it out till Amasis nails him with a rolling forearm. Amasis hits a forearm off the ropes as Gerard is staggering on his knees. Gerard elbows Amasis, but hits his head on the ring post. The referee checks on both guys. Colin Delaney runs in and punts Amasis in the head while the referee is busy checking on Gerard. Gerard pins Amasis at 13:15. Maybe people will disagree, but I thought this was excellent. This was just as good as the previous match but completely different. These guys told an awesome story, and Gerard did an awesome job with the slow turn back to a Tecnico. I can’t wait till he does, because if this is any indication, his matches are going to be so much better. ***

Backstage, Ophidian gets in Gerard’s face. Amasis comes in and Gerard asks if he’s okay. Ophidian calls him a cheater when STIGMA and Colin Delaney come up. Delaney calls them sore losers. Ophidian says the only reason Gerard won was because Delaney kicked him in the face. Gerard and STIGMA both seem upset by this fact. Amasis and Ophidian say they haven’t changed one bit. Amasis says the need to settle the score one more time in a tag match without Delaney. Gerard says they don’t need him.

Mike Quackenbush, Jigsaw, and The Throwbacks (Dasher Hatfield & Sugar Dunkerton) vs. The Brüderschaft des Kreuzes (Tursas, Pinkie “Pink Ant” Sanchez, Sara Del Rey, & Daizee Haze)

Dunkerton and Daizee start this match off, and Dunkerton is still smitten even after last night. Dunkerton hits on her in the feeling out process. Sanchez and Tursas come in and give Dunkerton a double suplex. Dunkerton tags in Jigsaw, who slingshots into an armdrag on Pinkie and stretches him in the Gory Gallows. Quack comes in with a slingshot senton, and Jigsaw hits a slingshot double stomp. Sanchez thrusts Jigsaw in the throat. Quack and Jigsaw give Sanchez double superkicks, and Jigsaw dives onto Sanchez when he hits the floor. Daizee tries an O’Connor Roll on Quack but fails. Quack stretches Daizee. Quack gives her an elbow but refrains from the palm strike. He evades a senton splash from Daizee then O’Connor rolls her for two. Sara comes in as Daizee hits the floor. She gives Quack a couple kicks to the chest. Quack catches her foot and dragon screws her down into a leg stretch. Tursas comes in and Quack looks to take out his legs. Tursas throws Quack to the floor, and now Jigsaw tries to take down Tursas. Tursas mows him down with a big clothesline. Both Throwbacks come in and target Tursas’ legs. Tursas slams Dunkerton onto Hatfield. Dunkerton gets trapped in the ring by the BDK, as they take turns decimating him. Dunkerton looks to make a comeback, but he accidentally knocks Daizee off the apron and becomes distracted. Sara kicks out his leg, and the BDK go right back to beating Dunkerton down. Dunkerton avoids a splash from Tursas and takes down both Sara and Sanchez. He refrains from punching Daizee. She slaps him in the face and kicks him. He rolls to the floor, and Hatfield comes in. He armdrags her down and gives her a jackhammer like suplex. Hatfield backdrops Daizee. She boots him and Hatfield stops her on the top rope. He looks for the Grand Slam and Tursas stops him. Tursas tosses Hatfield down into the guardrail. Daizee follows with a crossbody to the floor. Jigsaw and Sanchez trade strikes. Jigsaw kicks him. Quack sweeps his leg and Jigsaw wheelbarrows him into a gut buster. Jigsaw places Sanchez up top and brings him down with a top rope suplex, and Quack hits a swanton. Sara breaks the pin. Jigsaw gives her an enzugiri and Quack mule kicks her in the face. Jigsaw gives her a brainbuster and Sanchez breaks the pin. Sanchez tries a wheelbarrow. Quack kicks him and DDT’s him in the wheelbarrow position. Jigsaw gives him the Mad Scientist Bomb, and Daizee breaks the pin. Daizee brings Jigsaw to the floor with a headscissors. Quack and Jigsaw double superkick Tursas. Dunkerton comes in, pissed off at Daizee. She grabs his hands and he drops her with a Michinoku Driver. Sara breaks the pin and kicks Dunkerton in the head. Jigsaw throws Sara to the floor. Sanchez comes in looking for the Burning Snicklefritz. Jigsaw avoids it, superkicks Sanchez, and drops him with the Jig N’ Tonic for the pin at 14:14. This was a big win for CHIKARA in the war and another fun Atomicos match. This was the weakest of any Atomico this year, but considering how good it was, that says more about the other Atomicos matches than this particular one. ***

Tim Donst says he’s had issues sleeping because all he hears when he close his eyes is the fans chanting “you tapped out” when he tapped to Soldier Ant at King of Trios. He says tonight Soldier Ant’s luck will run out.

Tim Donst (Champion) vs. Soldier Ant

Soldier Ant takes down Donst with a couple headlocks. Soldier Ant looks for the CHIKARA Special early, and Donst runs to the floor. Soldier Ant hits a baseball slide and follows Donst on the floor. Soldier Ant chops Donst multiple times. Back in the ring, Donst gets taken down in a couple roll-ups. Donst drops down to avoid a rolling, saluting headbutt. Donst twists Soldier Ant’s antennae and drops him neck first across the top rope. Soldier Ant lays in a couple more chops and Donst gives Soldier Ant a German suplex. Donst pulls on Soldier Ant’s antennae in the corner before suplexing Soldier Ant. Donst stretches Soldier Ant’s arm across his own throat. Donst sends Soldier Ant to the apron and brings him back in with a belly-to-belly suplex for two. Donst gives Soldier Ant a neck breaker for two. Soldier Ant crotches himself in corner by accident and Donst gives him a back elbow to the upper back. Donst mocks Soldier Ant’s march before dropping him out of the corner with a neck breaker. Donst brings Soldier Ant to the ring apron and looks for the Donstitution. Soldier Ant drops Donst with a release bulldog on the apron. Both guys trade forearms on the floor. They both run in when the count gets close to 20 and continue trading shots. Donst yanks and bites on Soldier Ant’s antennae. Soldier Ant grabs Donst’s ears and throws him in the corner. Soldier Ant lights him up with chops and snapmares Donst by his ears. Soldier Ant drops Donst with the TKO and shotgun dropkicks Donst in the corner. He hits a diving headbutt to Donst’s chest. Donst asks for a handshake after dropping down to avoid the rolling, saluting headbutt. Soldier Ant grabs Donst’s arm and then looks for the CHIKARA Special. Donst pushes Soldier Ant away. Donst gives Soldier Ant an STO, then throws him into the corner with a belly-to-belly suplex. Soldier Ant fires up and nails a saluting, rolling forearm. He applies the CHIKARA Special. Donst grabs the bottom rope to escape. Soldier Ant hits a rolling forearm and Donst kicks out. Donst catches Soldier Ant as he goes up top. Soldier Ant pushes Donst down. Donst catches Soldier Ant with a flatliner as he comes off the top rope. Donst locks Soldier Ant in the Inverted CHIKARA Special. Solider Ant passes out at 11:31 to give Donst the win. This was a good match, but something was missing. I can’t exactly put my finger on it but this didn’t feel as important as it should have been. I liked the story of the match overall, but it’s certainly the most forgettable defense of the cup Donst has had. **3/4

Campeonatos de Parejas
The Brüderschaft des Kreuzes (Claudio Castagnoli & Ares) (Champions) vs. Incoherence (Hallowicked & Frightmare)

Like every Campeonatos de Parejas match, this is under 2 out of 3 falls rules. The BDK’s own referee Derek Sabato will be officiating this match. Delirious is brought out to the ring by Ares. When Incoherence come out, the BDK let Delirious go and destroys them in the ringside area. Delirious throws Frightmare in the ring. Claudio pins him at 0:05 to win the first fall. The BDK take turns beating on Frightmare while Hallowicked recovers. They also take turns to double team Frightmare, and Sabato of course lets it go. He also turns a blind eye to Claudio tampering with Frightmare’s mask. Frightmare is able to duck under a double clothesline and send Claudio to the floor with a headscissors. Frightmare tags Hallowicked, but Sabato purposely looks away so he doesn’t see it. Many Tecnicos come out to cheer on CHIKARA in this match. Frightmare fights back against both guys and Claudio throws Frightmare into Derek Sabato by accident. Bryce Remsburg mentions on commentary that Dieter VonSteigerwalt specifically told him in email he is not allowed to leave the Commentation Station during the match. Sabato shakes off the attack. Frightmare throws Ares into Claudio and Hallowicked tags in. He gives Claudio a step-up enzugiri and a super snapmare onto Ares. Hallowicked yakuza kicks Claudio and gives Ares the Rydeen Bomb for two. Hallowicked gives Claudio a step-up Frankensteiner and the Go Too Sleepy Hollow right on top of Ares. Sabato slow counts Hallowicked and Hallowicked gets in Sabato’s face. Ares rolls up Hallowicked for two. Claudio clobbers Hallowicked in the back of the neck with a clothesline. The BDK look for the Doomsday Device. Frightmare knocks Claudio down and Incoherence hit a side slam/legdrop combo. Claudio breaks the pin. Frightmare gives Claudio a low headscissors into a DDT and Hallowicked follows up with a swanton bomb for two. Ares pulls Hallowicked to the floor. Frightmare boots Claudio in the face. Claudio pops Frightmare up. He comes off the ceilings lights into a dragonrana, and Ares breaks the pin. Ares looks for the Tiger Driver and Hallowicked cracks him with a Yakuza kick. Ares kicks out at two. Frightmare gives Ares a yakuza kick. Frightmare hits a top rope ace crusher on Ares and Sabato makes an extremely slow count so that Claudio can break the pin. Hallowicked low bridges Claudio to the floor then dives onto him. Frightmare gives Ares a jump-up neck breaker. He misses the kneecolepsy and Ares gives Frightmare a lariat and the Tiger Driver for the pin and victory at 11:40. The heel referee gimmick was played really well in this match. Usually it bugs the crap out of me, but here it was done just right. It reminded me of the Muscle Outlawz heel referee as opposed to Daivari the heel referee, which is a very good thing. Also, the emotion in the match was off the charts with the CHIKARA guys rooting for their guys. Frightmare coming off the arena’s ceiling lights was quite a sight to behold as well. A very fun title defense all around. ***1/2

Eddie Kingston vs. Tommy Dreamer

Both guys shake hands. Dreamer turns a wristlock into a headlock. Both guys try shoulder tackles, and Kingston drop toe holds Dreamer down. They duck each other’s elbows and clotheslines and reach a stand off. Kingston knocks Dreamer down. Standing switches occur with both guys looking for a hip toss. Kingston shoves Dreamer and both guys get in a verbal argument. Kingston hip tosses Dreamer. Dreamer suplexes Kingston, then clotheslines him to the floor. Dreamer baseball slides Kingston into the guardrail, then comes off the apron with a somersault senton splash. Dreamer throws Kingston face first into the ring steps. Kingston pushes Dreamer head first into the ring post. Dreamer moves as Kingston tries a mafia kick. In the ring, Dreamer makes sure he’s okay and Kingston gets up trying to show no weakness. Dreamer trips Kingston and works on Kingston’s hurt leg. Kingston gets up and chops Dreamer. Dreamer asks for more chops. Kingston obliges, lighting Dreamer up. Dreamer avoids a boot in the corner and Dreamer chop blocks Kingston’s leg out. Dreamer turns Kingston over in a cloverleaf. Dreamer throws Kingston’s leg against the ring post. Dreamer boots Kingston in the corner and kicks his hamstring. Dreamer reapplies the cloverleaf and Kingston breaks. Kingston asks for Dreamer to hit him as he gets up. Dreamer boots Kingston as he’s on his knees. Dreamer throws Kingston’s leg on the ring apron. Kingston small packages Dreamer for two. Kingston drops Dreamer with an STO across his knee. Dreamer blasts Kingston with a flurry of chops, and Kingston drops Dreamer with an exploder suplex for two. Kingston applies a sleeper hold. Dreamer rams Kingston into referee Bryce Remsburg in the corner by accident. Dreamer rams his shoulder into the guardrail by accident. Kingston hits a mafia kick and the Backfist to the Future. Kingston misses a second and Dreamer drops him with a DDT for two. Dreamer goes to the top rope and Kingston crotches him. Kingston goes up looking for a superplex. Dreamer pushes him off. Kingston catches him off the top with a clothesline to the gut. Dreamer trips Kingston and applies the cloverleaf again. Just then, Derek Sabato comes in and looks at Dreamer. Dreamer releases and gets in Sabato’s face. Dreamer grabs Sabato’s shirt, and Sabato calls the bell for the disqualification in Kingston’s favor at 12:39. Dreamer looks upset, and looks to gives Sabato a piledriver. Claudio Castagnoli and Ares hit the ring to save him. Dreamer fires back against Claudio, and Claudio bails to the floor. Meanwhile Kingston is peppering Ares with chops. He also bails to the floor. Dreamer picks up the BDK ring announcer Jakob Hammermeier, and Kingston gives him the Backfist to the Future. Dreamer drops him with a Spicolli Driver. Dreamer actually did work hard here, and the post-match up to this point was quite good. It wasn’t the best match by any stretch, but for 12 minutes and a shoddy ending it was fine. **1/2

Dreamer gets on the microphone and mentions how Kingston would come to see him as a kid, and how the BDK ruined his dream to face him tonight. This sounds pretentious but it’s legit that Kingston wanted to face him. Dreamer said they should do this on his terms, and asks Kingston if he wants to partner with him to face Claudio and Ares. Dreamer says they’ll do it in the ECW Arena when CHIKARA returns their on July 25th for their big show with Dragon Gate. Since neither Kingston or Claudio can face DG guys (ROH dudes can’t fight them), why the heck not? Kingston gets the microphone and mentions he was on a show with Jushin “Thunder” Liger, but tonight being with Tommy Dreamer was more important him since Dreamer was the reason Kingston decided to get out of Yonkers and become a wrestler. Kingston gives Dreamer a big thak you for everything he has done in the business and for inspiring him. Quite a good speech from the King here to wrap up a really good and fun show.

Backstage Kingston says tonight was all about respect. He says since Claudio ruined this moment for him and for that he will get Claudio in the end.

The 411: Aniversario Elf was a very fun show, and a great way to cap the weekend. The setting of the show and the crowd created a really unique and energetic atmosphere that carried throughout most of the show. The vast majority of the show was over three stars and had lots of storyline advancement. I'd certainly give Aniversario Elf a recommendation; it's one of the better shows of 2010.
