Disc 1

Doom Patrol (The Pitboss, Jonny Mangue, Robbie Roller) vs. Academy Of Anatomy (Nick Talent & Mark Angel) and Darius Carter
The tecnicos controlled Mangue and Roller early. The Doom Patrol cut off Carter and tried to work him over. Carter managed to escape the Pitboss, and he then tagged in Nick Talent. The Doom Patrol quickly cut off Talent, and they worked him over for the main heat segment of the match. Talent finally was able to make a hot tag to Mark Angel. Angel sent Roller into a corner, and that caused the top ring rope to come undone. Angel hit Mangue with a German and Carter hit Roller with a codebreaker. Pitboss then hit Carter with a spinebuster and an ugly standing moonsault. Things broke down for a while. Eventually, Angel hit Roller with a Regal Plex. Talent and Carter seemingly finished Roller, but Pitboss made the save. Things spilled to the outside. Carter wiped out Roller with a heat seeking missile. Talent then took out Mangue with a plancha. All 6 men brawled all over the arena, which caused the referee to throw the match out.

This match started out fine, but things broke down and the match pretty much became a clusterfuck before the match became an actually designed clusterfuck. Carter and Angel vs. Mangue and Roller would have been a better match.
Match Rating: **1/2

Josh Thor vs. Stan Styles vs. Steve Weiner vs. Jack Verville
Verville is the most normal of all these guys, because he only dances. Styles and Verville do a dance battle. Thor and Turtle joined in. Finally, Styles hit Turtle with his Shake Weight. Verville took out Styles and Thor with a top rope cross body. Turtle recovered and took out Styles and Verville. Turtle hit then with a double spear. Thor took down Turtle, but Turtle avoided Thor’s finisher and hit him with a spinebuster. Verville ripped off Turtle’s shell and Styles killed Turtle with a palm strike. Verville had Styles pinned after an elevated Sex factor, but Styles managed to get his leg on the ropes. Styles hit Verville with his palm strike, but Thor grabbed Styles and gave him “Off With His Head!” (a high angle punch to the head): 1…2…3!

This match was OK. It was too short to amount to much though. Verville has got a lot of potential because of his athleticism, but he’s got to stop the dancing shtick. I understand the desire to stand out and get attention, but at this point, it makes him look so minor league.
Match Rating: **

Johnny Cockstrong came out for his match with Sugar Dunkerton, but Davey Vega came out instead. Davey demanded that he be allowed to wrestle now instead. Cockstrong allowed him to do so. Jarek 1:20 came out to replace Jonathan Greshem (who had travel issues).

Davey Vega vs. Jarek 1:20
Davey wanted to wrestle first so he could get to 10 points (10 more wins than losses).

Jarek asks Davey to pick a card, but Davey slaps them out of his hand and then slaps Jarek in the face. They started out on the mat with neither man being able to get the advantage. They got to their feet and Jarek got the first advantage with a European uppercut and a delayed flapjack on the ropes. Jarek hit a somersault plancha. Jarek went for a piledriver on the ring apron, but Vega back dropped him to the floor. Vega started to get the heat after that. Jarek got a few hope spots in, but Vega was able to cut him off several times. After a while, Jarek managed to hit a chinbreaker, which allowed him to start a comeback. Jarek trapped Davey in the ropes and hit a superkick and an inverted pedigree: 1…2…NO! Jarek went for a flipping piledriver, but Davey escaped and hit a big discus clothesline: 1…2…NO! Davey went for a super German suplex, but Jarek trapped Davey in the Tree of Joey Lawrence: LEGDROP FROM JAREK! They got to their feet and Jarek hit a half-nelson suplex: 1…2…NO! Jarek followed that up with a springboard DDT and a split-legged moonsault: 1…2…NO! Davey came back with a superkick and a Schweign: 1…NO! They started trading strikes. Davey hit another Superkick/Schweign combination: 1…2…3! Davey now has one more win that Johnny Cockstrong.

This was a very good match. Both guys have been two of my favorite performers in Beyond, and they proved how talented they were here.
Match Rating: ***1/2

Sugar Dunkerton vs. Johnny Cockstrong
Cockstrong says that he has to wrestle serious because he can’t risk falling two points behind Davey.

Sugar agrees to work seriously, but he then winks at the camera behind Cockstrong’s back. Sugar tried to use some shenanigans early on, but Cockstrong was resilient to joining in. The Black Eyed Peas “Time of My Life” begins playing, and Cockstrong almost cracked a smile and started dancing. For lack of a better term, Sugar was busting a move. The wrestlers started pounding the ring apron. Finally, Sugar wound up Cockstrong’s “fun switch” on his back, and COKSTRONG STARTED TO DANCE! This is the best match ever. Cockstring “blew up,” so Sugar attached imaginary jumper cables to his nipples to jump-start him. This all allowed Sugar to have the complete advantage, so Sugar went to work on Cockstrong with strikes. Cockstrong finally came back and locked in a seated sleeper hold! Sugar managed to wake up, but Cockstrong was able to maintain the advantage. Cockstrong still refused to use his Cock-based offense. Cockstrong’s knee-based offense was not effective enough, so Sugar was able to get the advantage by dribbling his head on the mat. Sugar killed him with a lariat. Cockstrong used a couple of pinning combinations, but Sugar survived. Cockstrong has got to use his cock! Sugar hit a huge superplex: 1…2…NO! Sugar got a little frustrated. Cockstrong got fired up and hit the Shining Cock and the Pencil Cock: 1…2…NO! Sugar came back with a belly-to-belly suplex: 1…2…NO! Sugar then walked into an In-the-Pants Piledriver: 1…2…3!

This match was so much fun and I really cannot overstate how enjoyable this match was. On top of that, it told a great story. Cockstrong, initially thought he had to wrestle seriously in order to stay tied with Davey Vega as points leader. However, Sugar was not the one to try this with, and in the end, Cockstrong realized he has to embrace the comedy if he wants to be successful.
Match Rating: ***1/2

Davey Vega comes out after the match, and Cockstrong asks for the match right now. Vega talks some trash, which causes Cockstrong to announce the stipulation for their match: Lumberjack Match. Vega flips out since he has no friends in Beyond Wrestling.

Disc 2

The Pitboss vs. Tim Hughes
Hughes got in a bunch of offense early, but Pitboss quickly cut him off with a lariat. Pitboss got the heat, hitting a seated dropkick and a Stinger Splash. Hughes went for a tornado DDT, but Pitboss avoided it and hit a big spinebuster. Pitboss tried to hit a gutwrench move, but Hughes escaped the attempt. Moments later, Pitboss was able to hit a Gutwrench Dominator: 1…2…3.

This was basically a squash match. The Doom Patrol reasserts their dominance.
Match Rating: *

Pinkie Sanchez vs. Aaron Epic
Epic tried to get a couple of different submissions early, which frustrated Pinkie. Pinkie lured Epic to the outside where he was able to cut Epic off. Pinkie thumbed Epic in the eye and placed Epic in the chair. Pinkie and Epic then did a slow-motion spot as inspirational music came on in the background as if this was a montage in a movie. Only in Beyond. Epic got tired of this and superkicked Pinkie. Epic had the advantage for a little bit, until Pinkie climbed the ladder that the camera man was using and hit a tornado DDT. Pinkie placed Epic on a chair and Pinkie then hit a double stomp off the ring apron. They finally made it back to the ring where Pinkie hit the Shining Ass twice in a row. Pinkie got a couple of nearfalls, but Epic hit a sole butt and then the Fastball Punch: 1…2…NO! Epic followed that up with a running punch to the face: 1…2…NO! Epic hit a Perfect Driver: 1…2…NO! Epic went for a superplex, but Pinkie trapped him in the Tree of Joey Lawrence. Pinkie hit an Ass Stomp: 1…2…NO! Pinkie went back to the top rope and hit a super Ass Stomp: 1…2…3!

This was a really fun match. Epic and Pinkie both looked good and clearly worked hard. These two are now in a stable in Beyond Wrestling with Sugar Dunkerton.
Match Rating: ***

Corvis Fear vs. Eddie Graves
Fear will become the wins leader if he wins this match.

Fear was able to use his experience to stay a step ahead of Graves early, but eventually Graves managed to cut him off. Graves sent Fear to the floor and hit a rolling senton off the apron. Graves drove Fear into some furniture that was occupying the ringside area. Back in the ring, Fear came back with repeated inverted atomic drops. Best comeback ever. Graves cut him off with repeated jawbreakers. Graves started jawing with the crowd, which gave Fear an opportunity to make a comeback. They ended up on the top rope where they both crotched themselves and fell to the mat. That made me chuckle. Graves avoided an Ace Crusher and hit an Edge-o-matic: 1…2…NO! Fear came back with a snapmare-driver: 1…2…NO! Graves hit Fear twice with a single leg codebreaker. Fear hit an ace crusher, but he was then distracted by Davey Vega popping up on the ring apron, which gave Graves an opportunity to roll up Fear: 1…2…3! Vega said he couldn’t allow Fear to become the wins leader before him.

This was a solid match with a crappy finish. WWE and TNA killed the “stupid wrestler gets distracted by someone outside of the ring” finish to the point that I don’t like it when an independent group uses it, even if it’s only occasionally. At least the interference made sense though.
Match Rating: **1/2

Nick Talent vs. Chris Dickinson
Denver Colorado comes out and says that Dickinson is injured and not at the building. Thus, Talent wins by countout. Talent still wants a match, so he proposes a match with his new partner…

Mark Angel vs. Nick Talent
They started out on the mat, trading holds, but with neither man getting the clear advantage. Eventually, Talent hit the first big move when he drove Angel forehead first into the turnbuckle. Angel came back with a powerslam out of the Gorilla press position. Angel followed that up with a rolling moonsault. They made their way to the top rope and both men fell to the apron. They started trading blows, until Angel got hung up in the corner; Talent then hit a running kick to the trapped Angel. Talent went for a sunset powerbomb to the floor, but Angel escaped and drove Talent onto the ring apron. Back in the ring, Angel hit Talent in the face with a knee. Talent was annoyed and slapped Angel. Talent avoided a spinebuster and hit a facebuster. Angel avoided a clothesline and then killed Talent with a spinebuster: 1…2…3.

Mark Angel is one of the best wrestlers on the Beyond roster, and I am glad to see that he is getting bigger opportunities in professional wrestling (“’Sup Nerds?”). I like Talent more in tag team matches, but this was still a fine match.
Match Rating: **1/2

The Doom Patrol get into an argument with the whole roster after the match. The referee separates everybody.

Chase Burnett vs. Flip Kendrick vs. Leon Del Admon vs. Fredo Majors
Del Admon is now known as Leon St. Giovanni.

Majors is a big boy, so he was able to manhandle his much smaller opponents early on. Flip and Burnett finally double teamed Majors to the mat. Del Admon then fell victim to some double teams from Flip and Burnett as well. Majors took down Flip with a German suplex, but Burnett sent Majors to the floor. Burnett hit a double knee press onto Del Admon to the apron. Burnett then hit a corkscrew senton onto Majors. Kendrick followed that with an Asai Corkscrew Moonsault. Del Admon went to the top rope and hit a 450 Splash to the floor. Kendrick and Burnett apparently decided not to catch him as Del Admon literally gave the 450 splash to the floor. Wow. He somehow managed to make it to his feet. Del Admon really shouldn’t be alive. Back in the ring, Flip took out Del Admon and Burnett. Fredo then hit Flip with Total Anarchy. Fredo put Burnett on the top rope, but Del Admon managed to power bomb Majors to the mat. Del Admon then gave Burnett a super Stu Hart Special onto Majors. Out of nowhere, Flip hit a Shooting Star Press on Del Admon: 1…2…Burnett made the save! Burnett then kind of hit Flip with a Lionault: 1…2…3. That finish was botched pretty badly.

This was a complete train-wreck of a match, and I mean that as a compliment as I was never not entertained during it. Del Admon, now Giovanni, showed a lot of promise in this match, and I look forward to his match with JT Dunn against the Super Smash Bros. Flip and Burnett were unsurprisingly the more polished looking guys in the ring. Majors is green, but he played his role of the much bigger guy fine here. As I said, not everything went smoothly in this match, but it was a fun match.
Match Rating: **3/4

Johnny Cockstrong vs. Davey Vega [Lumberjack Match]
All the wrestlers are lumberjacks for this match. Cockstrong asks Vega if he is ready for serious wrestling. Vega is not amused. They start out trading holds. Vega took a spill to the outside and the other wrestlers immediately sent him back into the ring where he was met with a Pencil Cock from Cockstrong. Vega back body dropped Cockstrong into the Lumberjacks, who gladly caught Cockstrong and allowed him to body surf before they drove him cock-first into Vega. Vega hit a step-up enzugiri and sent Cockstrong to the outside where The Doom Patrol were. The Doom Patrol gladly beat up Cockstrong for Vega. Vega started to get the heat after that. Cockstrong fired back with shots into the corner, which forced Vega to attack Cockstrong’s eyes to cut him off. Cockstrong came back with a running clothesline and a small package: 1…2…NO! Cockstrong hit some running cocks into the corner, but Vega managed to hit a powerbomb: 1…2…NO! They started trading strikes until Vega hit a discus clothesline: 1…2…COCKSTRONG GOT HIS LEG ON THE ROPE! Cockstrong hit a Yakuza Kick: 1…2…NO! Vega untied his tights and hit an In-the-Pants Piledriver: 1…2…NO! Cockstrong Cocks up and hits a running Shining Cock: 1…2…NO! Cockstrong goes for the In-The-Pants Piledriver, but Vega escapes and hits a Schweign: 1…2…NO! Vega went to the rop rope, but Cockstrong met him up there and hit a Turnbuckle Schweign: 1…2…3! Vega’s undefeated streak is over! Cockstrong is the new Wins Leader!

This was great action, great storytelling, and it had a great atmosphere. A lot of my favorite Beyond matches have been somewhat exihibitiony (ACH vs. AR Fox and Hatred vs. Dickinson come to mind), but this was possibly the best storyline-based match that the company has put on.
Match Rating: ***3/4

Disc 3: Beyond Wrestling’s 5 for $5

Pinkie Sanchez vs. Flip Kendrick
Pinkie danced his way to the ring and got most of the crowd to dance as well. Pinkie tried to crawl under the ring to lure in Flip and then jumped out (but Flip didn’t fall for it). Flip did a back flip just to show off. Pinkie, not one to be out-shined, used the referee and the ring ropes to do a flip of his own. They started out on the mat, with neither man getting a clear advantage. Flip ended up on the apron and then hit a slingshot hurricanrana. They fought on the outside and Pinkie placed Kendrick on a chair. Pinkie then hit a running knee press on Kendrick. Pinkie then forced Sugar Dunkerton to headbutt Kendrick. Pinkie followed that up by placing Kendrick on another chair, and he then hit a running double stomp through Kendrick’s crotch. Back in the ring, Kendrick killed Pinkie with a Package Piledriver: 1…2…NO! The wrestlers popped hard for that. Kendrick followed that up with a standing shootings star press for another nearfall. Kendrick locked in an arm submission, but Pinkie made it to the ropes. Kendrick was working over Pinkie, but the Sexual Spider Monkey was able to come back with a couple of clotheslines and a superkick. Pinkie followed that up with a suicide dive. Back in the ring, Kendrick took Pinkie down. Kendrick went for a shooting star press, but Pinkie avoided it. Kendrick followed that with a spike headscissors and then a reverse hurricanrana: 1…2…NO! Pinkie hit two kneeling superkicks and then a spinning superkick: 1…2…NO! Flip got trapped in the Tree of Joey Lawrence and Pinkie hit a Butt Stomp: 1…2…NO! Flip came back with an enzugiri and a tornado DDT. Flip went for a standing double rotation back senton, but Pinkie got his knees up. Both men struggled to their knees and to then to their feet. Flip hit the Flip Cutter and then the standing double rotation back senton: 1…2…NO! PINKIE KICKED OUT! Pinkie then hit a Guillotine DDT: 1…2…3!

These two went out and tried to steal the show, and they almost did just that. The match was tons of fun, but it suffered a little bit from, “I’ll do my shit, then you do your shit, repeat cycle.” But I think Beyond is at its best when it is pure fun, and this match was definitely that.
Match Rating: ***1/2

Corvis Fear vs. Ryan Eagles
Eagles is from Australia. Fear is not.

Neither man could get an advantage early. They went to the floor and Fear hit Eagles with a superkick. Fear rolled up Eagles in the padding on the floor and then did a back senton on him. Fear tried to show Eagles some respect by holding up the ropes to let Eagles back in the ring. Eagles kicked the ropes so that Fear’s knee was trapped. Eagles pounced and attacked Fear’s exposed knee. Eagles started to get the heat after that. Fear escaped an Ace crsher attempt and hit a dropkick. Eagles cut him off though by trapping Fear underneath the ring apron. Eagles dropkicked the trapped Fear to the floor and Eagles almost won by countout. Eagles pinned him lazily, but that gave Fear an opportunity to hit a facebuster/Mic Check type maneuver. They started trading some big shots until Eagles raked the eyes. Fear avoided a suplex, but Fear hit a pop-up German suplex: 1…2…NO! Eagles then hit a brainbuster: 1…2…NO! Eagles hit a diving knee: 1…2…NO! Fear tried for a springboard move, but Eagles caught him and hit a saito suplex: 1…2…NO! Fear rolled to the floor and then Eagles hit a Schweign to his knee and then a facebuster on the ring apron. Fear was dead, but Eagles opted not to win by countout. Eagles rolled Fear back into the ring: 1…2…NO! Fear avoided another Schweign attempt and hit a Shining Ace Crusher: 1…2…3!

This match was a little more sound than the previous one, but it couldn’t compare to the excitement of Pinkie vs. Kendrick. Fear has pretty much had nothing but good matches in Beyond, and this match was no exception.
Match Rating: ***

Team ISW (Frankie Arion & Dan Barry) vs. Doom Patrol (Jonny Mangue & Robbie Roller with The Pitboss)
Arion and Mangue started out the match and Arion surprisingly got the advantage. Barry and Roller tagged in and Barry was able to keep the advantage for Team ISW. Arion tagged in and hit Roller with an Iconoclasm. Roller was able to cut off Arion with a rake to the eyes. Roller and Mangue then played the numbers game to get the heat on Arion. Arion almost took them both down, but Pitboss distracted him. Arion kicked Pitboss away and hit a top rope crossbody on Roller. Arion then made a hot tag to Barry who ran wild on the Doom Patrol. Doom Patrol recovered and had Barry pinned, but Arion saved him. Arion had Mangue pinned, but Roller made the save and sent Arion to the floor. Barry then hit a DVD on Roller: 1…2…NO! Pitboss then accidentally hit Mangue with a steel chair. Arion sprayed Pitboss with deodorant, and then hit a top rope frog splash on Mangue: 1…2…3!

This was a really good tag match. Barry and Arion have really good chemistry together and I’m glad to see that they are still teaming together
Match Rating: ***1/4

Darius Carter vs. Jack Verville
Carter’s tag partner, TJ Marconi, was not at this taping, so he worked singles matches this weekend.

They started the match trading holds on the mat. Carter got the advantage first and rained in some strikes, but Verville was able to escape. Verville went back to the ring, but Carter quickly managed to send him right back to the floor. Carter went for a suicide dive, but Verville blocked him in the ropes. Verville then used his legs to send Carter headfirst onto the ring apron. Verville started to get the heat after that. Verville worked over the injured neck of Carter. Carter came back and hit a diving uppercut off the middle rope. They started going back and forth, trading moves. Carter was building momentum, but Verville rolled him up with a snapmare clutch: 1…2…NO! That was a cool pinning combination. Carter hit a big enzugiri: 1…2…NO! They ended up in the ropes, and Verville tried to piledrive Carter into the apron again. Carter escaped and hit a suicide dive on Verville! Back in the ring, Verville recovered and went for a top rope move, but Carter caught him with a Codebreaker! 1…2…3!

This was another good exhibition match on the DVD. I think Carter has a lot of potential to move up in the world of independent wrestling. Verville has received a lot of praise for his ability, but I have yet to see that one match where I definitively see his potential.
Match Rating: ***

Jonathan Gresham vs. Zane Silver
They did a series of stalemate spots to start the match. They managed to do them as if they weren’t cliché and planned out, so kudos to them. Silver got the first advantage in the match after a series of armdrags, which allowed him to get an arm submission. Gresham got to his feet and started to trade strikes with Silver. Gresham rolled to the floor. Silver sent him into the ring apron and then repeatedly struck Gresham with kicks. Gresham avoided one kick and Silver accidentally kicked the ring post. That allowed Gresham to get the advantage. Back in the ring, Gresham went to work on Silver’s injured leg. Silver avoided a figure four, and then the two started trading strikes until they were both knocked down. Silver’s leg was now fine. How babyface BxB Hulk of him. Silver sent Gresham to the outside and then wiped him out with a suicide dive. Back in the ring, Gresham hit a superkick and a pair of German Suplexes: 1…2…NO! Silver came back with a pair of Dragon Suplexes: 1…2…NO! They got to their feet and started trading some stiff strikes. Gresham avoided a big boot and hit a discus Polish hammer. Gresham hit a big clothesline: 1…2…NO! Gresham put Silver on the top rope, but Silver came back with a Blockbuster Stunner, Brainbuster and then a Best Senton Ever: 1…2…3! They hugged it out after the match.

This a very good match to finish off the DVD. I (along with everyone else) have been critical of some of Gresham’s singles matches, but he looked much better here without having to do the Hieracon gimmick.
