West runs down other stars that have come to TNA, and admits that he always loves that initial moment. Booker says the debut night was incredible, and he hadn’t been with Sting in years, which made it even better. Gail Kim says it was huge for TNA, because it shows that people want to come to TNA. Tenay says Booker got people ready for a great 2008. Booker appreciates that the fans voted for this, because it means he is respected. He will cherish this award for that reason.

  • MVP of the Year:
-#5 is AJ Styles. AJ says he is the best because the fans came up with the “Phenomenal” nickname. His goals for 2008 are to be the best, and to win the X-Division and World Title.

-#4 is Sting. Kaz puts over Sting, and says he grew up watching him back in the NWA days. Eric Young and the Guns say he is an ICON. They love having a veteran on the roster like him.

-#3 is Christian Cage. Cage says he should have won the award because he was the main event player, and Joe didn’t win a world title, he won two of them. He is OFFENDED!

-#2 is Kurt Angle. He has won awards before, and if this is Joe’s year, fine, next year will be his year.

-#1 is Samoa Joe. Joe says it is great to be appreciated, and he loves the TNA fans, the best fans around. He shows up to kick ass and take names. He has defeated everyone and it will only be a matter of time before he is the champion. Angle admits that Joe had a great year, and he had one as well. The fans respected Joe and that is why he got the award. Booker has been watching Joe for years and has heard about him and he had the hype behind him. He is agile and talented, and Booker feels that he is still growing as a performer. Tenay adds that he beat out some excellent competition to win the award. Joe thanks the fans and appreciates their support.

The 411: While I would have had some different match choices, this was “fan voting,” so I really cannot debate that point. The DVD clocks in at 3 ½ hours, with the complete matches and awards section. If you watch it all the way through they do some awards and mix in the matches in a big countdown format. But you do have the options to watch the matches by themselves, as well as the awards. The DVD is put together well with a good flow, and the award segments come off very well as the performers seem genuine in accepting awards as well as congratulating other winners. They mix in some character stuff, like Cage stating that he should have won, but it comes off as a fun moment. All seven matches were *** or above, and two of those **** or above (according to my ratings), so we’re certainly getting quality matches. While we can debate the quality of TNA’s 2007 all day long, they put together a very good DVD that highlighted good matches and the awards. I will also admit that I do have my issues with Impact a lot of the time, but when it comes to PPV’s and DVD’s TNA tends to do very well, and this is another example of that. In the end I highly recommend this DVD.

This looks like a must buy. TNA didn't have a great 2007 but putting all there best stuff on a DVD is a fantastic idea. I've been wanting WWE to put out year end retrospectives like this for years. Kudos to TNA for doing so.

The only thing that sounds disappointing is no Joe vs. Christian matches but you can't win 'em all. Besides you can never get enough Harris vs. Storm. That's the best TNA singles match ever IMO.

Looks great. I question the logic in having Joe/Angle from Hard Justice, but I guess it serves as a momento now.

I agree with Christian, he should have won MVP 2007. He's been the most consistent performer in TNA (on the mic and in the ring).

I bought the DVD and it is FANTASTIC. The only things I would change would be the Joe/Angle match to Turning Point 2007 where Joe made him tap, and switch the Ultimate X Match out too. While it was really good, it never got that great feeling out of me. I would substitute Joe/Cage from Bound For Glory instead. That was a better match IMO.
